Being a necrolord spriest would be utterly meaningless if everyone was a necrolord spriest for m+ or example.Reminder this is the first attempt of blizzard to lock people in builds after azerite reforged gold cost failed to achieve that, if people still try to change all the time expect the requirements to be increased and 10.0 systems be more restrictive. You are no longer allowed full optimization, you are meant to stick to a build.
Good. The covenant choice should matter.Freely swapping between them without cost is meaningless, and these calls to pull the ripcord are industrial grade entitlement.
people arguing that this is good only do so because they like that it hurts how other people play. they aren't going to enjoy it themselves, they're just going to make memes of their character drinking "Mythic Raider/M+ Pusher Tears" from a coffee mug, because that's all this system achieves. you're just advocating for a game where less people can enjoy playing it the way they actually want and inventing fantasy scenarios wherein pugs suddenly become less toxic about other players having the "wrong" choice just because "oh well it would take 2 days to change, can't help that"blizzard has no way to control player behaviour and every attempt to do so thus far has failed, if not resulted in the exact opposite of the intended effect. this system will fail because it's built to spite the player for wanting to play.
Hey guys I'm just here to ignore everything else about shadowlands and post about how covenants not being exactly how I imagined them in my head will literally ruin the game completely. Also RNG leggos that give 20% player power and Artifact power were amazing and legion is the best expansion the game has ever seen I'm going to post some cringe hashtag 40 times per day on reddit and the forums in hopes that others will react positively towards me for once in my life. Cheers! Badowlands garbage!
I wish for once people would understand the difference from meaningful criticism and just complaining (as in me hate it just remove it) and I have seen a lot of that lately. If you are going to state something you do not like give examples of why you don't like it and how they could do it differently. You know and I know they will not make that drastic of a change, however, if you give example of ok if they are doing xyz then then how about they do this instead think of it as trying to meet them half way and do know you catch more flies with honey as the saying goes. All in all I can see why blizzard would do this from a business standpoint (you give people stuff to work towards and keep them involved with the game) but I can see why people are frustrated.Anyways back onto possible alternatives:I do agree the CD and the time to do the quests for the people that play maybe a few hours a day could be seen as a bit long. Do we actually know how long it would take to do the quests to change back to a covenant? If so is it set spots for said quests (and are they specific world quests) or is there some variance on where they can spawn. Would People be happier if there were less quests involved (more like daily than WQ) but some request some currency and raw crafting mats as some of the objectives of some of the quests. For Example There is a to Kill X mob or number of mobs, there is a quest that you have to pay x currency that you generally gather while playing the game naturally, and if for example you want to be part of Maldraxxus again they want x-crafting material ore/cloth/leather/etc as an act of good faith. With 2 of those you would know ahead of time what you need to do or gather. There would be maybe a bit of a grind but some of it can be pre-planned (be it gathered or bought from ah) ahead of time.
Yea the entitled generation has returned. Why not making baking them into our talent page where we can change covenants within a click in a resting place?
Wow is a game ive played the se way for 10+ years. Why are you trying to tell me that ive been playing it wrong all this time? Fun is subjective, i find it fun in making my character the best it can be.
its not that much required which is good (still a pain tho), but that makes it even more pointless and unnecessary for it to even exist. So just #pulltheripcord, this is stupid and the philosophy behind it is also stupid. Blizzard is a company and all companies wants money, then i dont see why they shouldnt scrap this and make them easy swappable talents. Probably more people will think the game is more fun and more people will come back. "Absolute win" for everybody. And you rp players out there who wants covenants to be a "locked choice" even if it hurts most of the player base and the game overall because of some sudden identity crisis or whatever reason, just go and pretend that you are locked in. That cant be to hard for you guys, right? Also quit the 1% bull&*!@ already this hurts most people playing the game.
I'm mostly into PvP and will pick my covenant based on what ability & soulbind fits PvP the best... and I'll be damned if that turns out being the necrolords, christ, why would my night elf druid ever want to join them? Gonna feel bad being stuck with them the next two years if they turn out having the optimal covenant because they give the most relevant ability for PvP. And this goes for the people wanting to join the venthyr as well, would suck for you to be stuck with the night fae for two whole years. Please treat covenants simply as order halls where we spend our time and let us choose what ability & soulbind we want.
I use all of those add-ons (Pawn, Recount, SimulationCraft, and many more than that), but I am very much a casual player, not at all competitive, and never run M+ unless my small group of friends wants to run one every 6 months or so. I think you are using the wrong things to measure by. I don't care if it takes two days or a week to change, it should be a serious decision changing allegiances and require some effort. Heck, even getting Kua'fon took a lot more effort than that, and that was just to get one more mount.
