Fun fact: Old Hatreds is also the name of the Orc campaign chapter in which Bovan (and Rexxar, Rokhan and Chen) rescue Baine from the centaur.

In order to start this quest chain, go to Valdrakken, and talk to Mayla Highmountain, she's located on the central square (51,59) and will give you the quest "A Debt That Must Be Paid" where you should find Baine in the Ohn'ahran Plains.

So first you rage around with Baine like an unkillable god while he tanks for you, and then you fight Jamoku and die repeatedly while Baine does...nothing? -_-

This was frustrating. Buff for the fight in advance. Any extra edge you can give yourself.

The first time, Baine left me alone to die. Did not even join in. I died. I'm not sure why he stayed away.

Then I saw he was joining in the fight. Died again.

You need to kill the big storm elemental as soon as it appears. The little storms are a pain too, so AoE them down.

Dance around Jamoku. Get out of the white thing he casts, as it is nasty. It has a long cast time, so you have the time.

Have some heals available. A healing potion, lock stones, etc. But just keep dancing. When he gets down moderately low, you get help and the fight ends. It looked like around 30% to me, but I was focused on the fight.

Still, I died like 5 times. Don't forget to repair after you die.

Has anyone else gotten the bug where there's two Jamoku's? Like we pulled him and there is definitely double...

edit: I logged a ticket and went back the next day, it was fine. But seems it happens from time to time and makes the fight near impossible to solo.

You have to perservere through this fight to complete the Old Hatreds storyline. Here's a table showing the abilities of Jamoku and his elemental shield, Storming Protector.

Old Hatreds Spells
Enemy Combatant	Ability	Description
Jamoku	Elemental Protection 100 yard range	Summons a storm elemental that protects the caster from attacks and crowd control effects.
Lightning Storm	Creates a violent storm that shocks the ground around the caster, inflicting 31 Nature damage to players within the impact location and knocking them away.
Storm Stomp 100 yard range	Inflicts 30 Nature damage to enemies in a frontal cone and an additional 30 Nature damage to enemies near the caster, knocking them back.
Storming Protector Very short cooldown	Elemental Protection	Protects the target from damage and crowd control effects until defeated.
Storm Bolt 60 yard range	Blasts an enemy with lightning inflicting 6 nature damage.

The Storming Protector elemental shields Jamoku and damages you. Slay the Storming Protector and the small elementals. They respawn, so use the very short cooldown (as in seconds) to damage Jamoku. Then attack and stun Storming Protector as soon as it respawns. Keep moving and watch where you step. Baine Bloodhoof, fighting alone, cannot reduce Jamoku's health to the point where the centaurs intervene.

This is a PVE fight, so consider your gear. Self-healing spells and consumables will be important. Hot key trinkets. You may die (often). Do repairs.

The finale is a cutscene.

Shadow Priest, level 392. On the forth try I simply kited back the small elementals when they appeared and killed them (letting Bane do most of the work), then the large elemental, then worked on Jamoku until the small elementals appeared again. Rinse and repeat until the cavalry arrives.

I haven't checked patch notes but this may have been fixed. For me, Baine kept Jamoku occupied the whole time and I could deal with the elementals when they came up. Eventually around 20% the cinematic kicked in. But that said, my gear's much better than the first time I tried this.

Well, that was... something. First, Baine didn't move, then when I decided to let him handle Jamoku, he did NO DAMAGE at all; he tanked pretty well, but I killed like 8 rounds of elementals, and Jamoku was still 90 something of health, so I let myself die out of boredom. What finally worked, like in seconds, was to apply a DOT and handle the elementals away, then while the field is clean, go and hit him, but saving CDs for the rounds of elementals so they can go FAST. I made this with 396 sub rogue. Side note: get ALL the defensive you can from the tree. The elementals fall pretty easily. It is better to survive the hits and not care that much for moving around while hitting the a-hole.

This is a solo fight? Pfbt. I've beaten C'Thun, Illidan, and Lich King and the100 yard range of this clown's abilities makes him basically unkillable for anyone relying on a cast bar. 326 shadow priest watching Baine at 1HP with Jamoku at 55%. Baine is an idiot to think he had a chance, even with 3x Jamoku's HP. Getting in range to deal any damage to his add works the one time in ten it isn't nuking you and ignoring Baine for some reason, with the little spawns all over you, and kiting them means Angelic Feather isn't enough 'cause there is absolutely no way to camp at the edge of range with the GTFO effect spawning all over the floor.

Lame. Broken. Blizzard will say "working as intended" and remind me why I quit for 13 years.

Stupid piece of %^&* is bugged on my server. Instead of one Jamoku there are three spawned. All of them summon a large elemental that makes them invulnerable. They all buff the Jamoku that you are targetting, while the 300 little elementals swarm you and the big one's nuke hits you every 5 seconds. So goddamn irritating I just rage quit and probably won't play WoW for a week or two.

I am so frustrated by this. I have a tanking pet but all the storm pets he keeps conjuring up are too many to deal with. I can't get one set killed before the next set is up & Baine isn't dropping Jamoku in health enough for us to get help. I get that Blizzard is trying to show that Baine is tired after smashing his way through the camp, but going from a chain of quests that were relatively easy to something that is impossible to beat takes all the enjoyment out of playing. It isn't a "have fun figuring out how to beat the thing as the quests in the chain gradually get harder," it's "Lalala, this is a really interesting story, I'm getting to know Baine, oh know, I'm concerned about his mental well being, we should have a chat after this last fight & CURB STOMP!"
It does NOT make the game fun to play. I've followed all the tips & I've still died multiple times. I'm level 70 so I guess all I can do is try to level gear.

I've been putting off this quest forever but I just gave it a go and it worked! Baine saved the day and I just kept bouncing around all the adds until he showed up. I'm a 70 Survival hunter with ilvl 427

It seems like someone finally fixed this quest. This is the third or fourth time I've done this quest and this time Baine ACTUALLY HELPED ME RIGHT AWAY BY TANKING and didn't just sit there and watch while I died repeatedly trying to get Jamoku to the right health level for help to intervene. Previously this quest was just nearly impossible to do on your own, but this time I finished it in like less than 30 seconds. O_o
