I also approve of this change. Much easier to balance out the classes with this cap. If this game is adapted to this change, I think it will make for a better game. I'd rather the thrash pulls scale to be increasingly harder so 5 thrash are still something to pay attention to, instead of thrash eventually being so weak that you can pull a lot of groups together to barely get a challenge. Just make sure the average completion time of the dungeons remain roughly the same.
Good change. That's gonna balance the META around the heavy AoE that is now, giving the single target builds a little more light. Let's see how it plays out.

honestly im fine with it, but it would be nice to have modifier of some sort so that enemies that dont give exp or honor ie enemies alot lower level then you are not affected by that cap, imagining doing old raids/dungeons when all aoes only hit 5-8 enemies...yikes
The change is good, the content obviously will be tuned accordingly. Those who are complaining about balance after the very first alpha patch, before it is even playable are complete Removed , sorry.
This change is fantastic. Not only does it combat lag from insane cleaves especially in large scale content, but it will also give me more reason as a tank to pace myself instead of being tempted to pull everything because i'm tempted on the lost AoE dps. I'd be still happy if they capped all AoEs to 3 targets, you spam them anyway, it'd still work, and th elitiste pricks would cry even more, it's amazing. Loud minority protesting, but they're still a minority.Majority of players won't see any impact from this, or may find their dungeons better paced, and with less pressure on the healer to heal through 900 mobs of an ambitious tank that has no reason to limit his pull other than a "bad healer" or "bad dps". Some of the arguments regarding "AoE sucks if you cap it" have their foot in their mouth, AoE is amazing right now even with two targets.
I'm not in favor of these changes.
I don't know if I like this because I don't know how is the shadowland playstyle, but AoE pulling in Legion BfA is kinda old and not very fun tbh so, i'm not gonna hate on this.
As long as they nerf all AoE spells, i am fine with it. Don't wanna see another 2x outlaw season or melting down an entire room illidan style
We've tried this before and it doesn't work. The cap is extremely annoying in old content, and actually makes trivial packs impossible. I remember how the first time we tried this, it became impossible to solo Magisters Terrace because of all the little mana wyrms. That patch they let aoes hit everything but split damage at a cap, so you were split so thin you did nothing. Then later they tried this specific target cap on a lot of abilities and it's too random for raid strats when we're constantly expected to kite or cc big packs.We have packs of rats or worms that stack a single debuff shared by many units, where just 1 getting loose and refreshing your stacks means death, also Necrotic.This also makes it basically impossible to spin a flag in a bg, if people can pile pets and bodies on it to rng their way to not being hit its such a crapshoot.

I swear they always take a step forward, and then jump backwards by a mile. Literally no reason to even cap aoe and yet here they go doing it. I mean heck some pulls require huge mob packs in order to make the timer at times. Like yeah I get some pulls are a bit ridiculous, however when you have bolstering weeks, it's going to be a mess dealing with it in limited cleave due to the fact that you both cannot control what is being cleaved, along with more than 5 mobs being pulled being a huge problem seeing as you'll bolster the heck out of a mob easily. Then boss fights with aoe are going to be a mess too as when there's a mob per player it's going to be difficult to actually cleave it all down now. So either their going to have to dial back the amount of mobs in dungeons and raids, or just not make a silly change like this. Due to he fact that they feel like people are "rushing". When in reality it's how M+ works. You have to go fast to make the timer, doing small pulls simply takes too long and will easily cause a deplete. Along with sometimes pulling trash with bosses due to the amount of health they have and the amount of time it actually takes to kill it all. Please don't make this change blizzard, you were walking into he right direction, now your just undoing everything.
Dang didn't think of the PvP aspect of it too, this is a terrible design, and I don't get why people are supporting it honestly.
