My favorite zone would have to be Tanaris. As a noob where did i spend the most time? Orgrimmar? Barrens? Nope Tanaris. I spent hours upon hours just exploring the place and every time i go there it still brings back memories. Like the time i fireballed a guy to death while he was still on his mount, or the first time i found torta and did his... annoying quest. Hands down... I love tanaris! :D
Stonetalon Mountains on Horde side was about as epic as I've seen questing in WoW. The scale of the battle at Thal'darah Grove and the betrayal of the orc Lieutenant made leveling there seamless and I really didnt pay any attention to my XP bar. Topped off with the arrival of Hellscream to whoop some insubordinate butt... it was one of the best in-game narratives yet!

I like vashj'ir, I love how your underwater and the zone looks absolutely amazing.
Stratholme before shattering. Best dungeon ever. Hard and full of fun bosses, always challenging. The gauntlet before Rivendare with swarm of zombies was most awesome moment ever (especially when you're panicking healer :D). And of course sometimes getting locked while whole group was fighting Baron! :)
I like Elwynn Forest. It has beautiful scenery, plenty of pvp action (on most servers) and lots and lots of copper :).
There are alot of different zones to like for a lot of different reasons... Nagrand's splendorous floating bits of land and oddly flowing waterfalls make it a top choice to be sure. Out of the newer zones, the underwater zone of Vashj'ir is incredibley unique and it reads like a book, going from past to present. But to be honest, a long long time ago, a fresh Night Elf recruit just reaching the edges of the Great Tree, and landing on the dark and dismal docks of old Auberdine is something I'll cherish forever. It felt like such a forgotten place- the edge of the world you weren't quite sure you would come back from, the mysterious and unexplained water monsters lurking just below the docks, should you venture too far from shore, or wander carelessly off the edge, the ominous corpses of massive sea creatures rotting on the shores; begging the question- what drove them to flee the dark depths of the unknown ocean to the west? It wasnt dark like old Silverpine forest was, not like the mysterious forest in old fairy tales- nor the menacing undead and evil forest of Duskwood (though it did have that portal). It was perilous and a bit magical. Naga protected old ruins with untold stories, and the wildlife itself hinted at something more sinister or maybe more twisted at work. The whole zone was like one big unanswered question that we never get to know the answer to; a riddle that can't be answered. And I liked it that way. Plus I got my first rare there! ;P
Winterspring! Theres never anyone there so it truly feels like a snowy desolate place.
Ferales - running through that zone trying to get to 1000 needles at level 29 was quite an adventure.Oh the days of true exploration.
I enjoy the cut-throat alley in Stormwind most, it's a lovely little place no one knows of, though it' way easier to find than before the shattering because of flying mounts.
My favourite is Moonglade. On my druid I spent quite some time just chilling there and I really like the look of that small zone, also got a lovely Formal Dangui from the dress maker there... even though I ordered it long ago, one day she made me happy with having one for sale. :)
Grizzly Hills, no zone has ever looked better or had better music, make me want to just live thier
My favourite is definitely Silithus. Miles and miles of nothing but sand, scorching sun beating down on your relatively unprotected neck, while all around the familiar yet scary buzzing of the swarms drives you slowly into madness.Around the next corner, members of the Twilight's Hammer are creating rifts to the elemental planes, and you just KNOW you can toy with the messengers...And somewhere, hidden well and easily overlooked, the one item in this desert that knows se secret of the shifting sands...Man, I love that :D Story, Atmosphere, and LOADS of Insects to crush =)
By far, Mulgore. The sunny, meadow scenery in combination with the amazing, soothing music makes me feel right where I need to be. On top of that, it is the starting area for Taurens. Makes me wanna level a new cow every time I think of it :)
Mine has always been Ashenvale. I loved the old quests and the ones that replaced them. I absolutely love the music there, plus its one of the first zones I ever ventured into years ago that made me thing......"Wow!"
