A Pillar of the Research Community and A Djaradin Puzzle seem quite overtuned. From my attempts at doing this I only seem to get 1 progress per event - 2 if I'm lucky. There are not many items you can click and it's very limited how many spawn and of course everyone is rushing to click the items too.

Finished up the meta today, heres my tips for the achievement:

For this one you always need to be in a group with a lot of others, as you need to reach one of the final stages. These groups are almost always WM Off.
If there are multiple groups in group finder, try leaving and swapping between them to get a second chance at more rocks
As the stage with the big crab ends, position yourself near a rock. You can see them before the phase starts. They are the blunt rocks (the sharp ones are for the earlier stage). See screenshot. This will guarantee you at least one hand in.
Do not mount up as it will drop the rock, and ignore all mobs. Pick up rock, run to altar.
Try get the rocks around the altar to start off with as you have more chance of getting more than one hand in.
There will be two spawn sessions of rocks. If you are waiting around for more rocks, mount up and start scouting out new spawns in the air.
Create a speed set to run your rocks faster - Onyx Annulet with Obscure Pastel Stone, Harmonic Music Stone, Wind Sculpted Stone is a great quick way to get some extra speed in. See guide Making a Dragonflight Speed Gear Set and running Legacy Raids/Dungeons FAST for more.

I finished this achievement over maybe 40-50 events and the meta over approximately 100. I usually dunked 1-2 rocks per event.(##RESPBREAK##)396##DELIM##Buuloki##DELIM##

This achievement, along with a couple of others are currently very tedious, and almost impossible to make steady progress on. On top of that, it is really contradicting to want a large raid group to reach the required stages and then want as few people around to work on the achievement.

It's a real contradiction! You need a large group to reach the stage but with a large group the achie will ne nearly to impossible..why does blizzard think nonsense?

This is a quite toxic achievement. I have been in two 40 player groups now where the leader used a macro or addon or something and kicked everyone at once when we got to stage 7/12 which is the stage where you can do this achievement just so he could take a few more stones for himself.

This is likely one to do in a few expacs time.

Whats the likelyhood of them changing this? Do Blizz ever change achievement criteria or the method of obtaining it, e.g. via a group?

That's the continuation from maxing pillar shards yield post of my joint strategy of maxing the yields of A Pillar of the Research Community A Djaradin Puzzle achievments:

Assumptions: a number of random people from the zone already joined the event. It is ok to have ~30 seconds left for altar stage, though +1 minute is better.
After you finished the pillar stage, blast all the mobs, then blast the makrura elite as much as possible, then drop combat.
On the moment of makrura elite death you should stand next to the altar ready to pick stone from the lava river (45.03, 57.59) - that's a free instant stone.
Then use your speed abilities to get the more stones which are closest to the altar, including the one beyond the lava river. You should get at least two total when other people start pouring in.
If the stones near altar are swarmed and you can't reach any close stone anymore, get on mount immediatally, fly around, especially around lava river on NW edge (the furthest) and dive to get any stone you can no matter the distance to altar - see next point why.
Important: There are not enough stones spawned to fill the 24 items bar. There are 18 or 20(?) total;EDIT: confirmed there are at least 24 stones and it can be done under 1 min if all of the raid would carry their asap. also people can drop and waste some with abilities or mounting. The picked stone respawns after exactly 1 minute. So it is beneficial to use timer and stand on your first stone spot in a minmaxed moment, then charge in the same order to the stones you picked initially - that's another 1-3 free stones, depending on the event timer and how people are failing handings of further stones. That's why having +1 minute for this stage is so good.

I got this before getting A Pillar of the Research Community, with a record of 9 stones. Mind I had not had the strat completely optimized all along. It is common on populated shard to get at least <1 minute on altar stage with <10 random players around right now.

Think this one is worse than the 100 ores. At least a somewhat small group can reach the ores in time during titan week, but since this is a much later stage in the Zaqali week you're going to need a decently sized group to reach the 2nd relic fragments task and you'll likely only get 1/50 every time it shows up since 24 total fragments will complete it.
Edit: totals are halved, so 50 ores and 25 fragments.

This along with the other 2 "collect stone" achieves (A Pillar of the Research Community and A Research Sampler) that are part of the meta for Cooling the Research Field are terrible. Just terrible. Only this achieve is actually worse than the other 2 since you can only complete it at a later stage of the event which is not easy to get to unless you have a lot of people. So you're going to need at least 30 players to get to this stage without running out of time and as a result, will have a lot of competition to grab the stones you need. Which means at best you're only going to be able to collect 2-3 stones per event. Since you need 50 25 for the achieve, you're going to have to run it at least ~~25-30~~ 15 times and get to this stage each time (which is not the easiest thing to do as time goes on and less and less people are interested in doing the event.

All I can suggest is to keep spamming it on reset day to try and get as many stone collections in as possible before the week drags on and your chances of getting enough people to help decreases.

Edit: Blizz has nerfed the requirements as of 10.1.5.

So, this achievement is annoying; but not terrible. What I did was join a massive group and stand where the boulders would spawn before this event started; sometimes I could get as many as 5-6 in a run, sometimes as little as 2. Then, I would leave my raid group and more often than not on my home server, the event was going on as well; they wouldn't be on track to complete all the events, but this event would still be active (or incoming) which would allow me to get even more pieces. Sometimes I could get up to 10 in a single Research event.
