If you are having a problem finding it, like I did ... In Ohn'ahran Plains, instead of going through the portal to Amirdrassil, go to the left or right of it and keep flying straight west till you get to the quest. Hope this helps.

You are wanting to fly to the tree thats not beyond the portal. Go around the portal, not through it and head west until the new tree on the map appears. If you go to the area that has the weeklies and dailies, wrong tree/phase. Go to the Plains version of the tree. It'll have houses and different NPCs.

To tie together the posts made previously by cococat and skipn26, if you are starting this while IN the Emerald Dream, fly to AND THROUGH the portal at 72.7 53.0, which will take you out to Ohn'ahran Plains. Immediately do a 180/U-turn and then fly back West and go over, left, or right of the portal to head to Amirdrassil where you will find Shandris Feathermoon at 51.0 60.5. That all said, if you are heading there from Ohn'ahran Plains to begin with, then fly around the portal.

Caveat: If I knew how to post the coordinates I shared as links to the proper area versus just generic text, I would have. :)

To start this little questline, speak with Alexstrasza at the Seat of the Aspects.

Fair Skies and Strong Winds

Champion of the Dragonflights achievement and account-wide title will be granted.

After giving you a recognition, new quests from Alexstrasza the Life-Binder and Vyranoth will appear respectively.

A Place Beneath the Boughs and Siblings Until the End

By doing the first quest, you will meet Tyrande and Shandris in Amirdrassil.

The Returning

The rewards from completing this last quest are Violet Kaldorei Bedroll and Violet Kaldorei Backpack.

Mansplained version: Dont take any portals to that Emerald Island. Take the furthest flight path west, then you manually have to fly over to the island.

Honestly, if Blizz had the quest text saying

Tyrande Whisperwind and Shandris Feathermoon are at the tree in the waking world under clear skies

(or maybe: under Amirdrassil's living roots. I'm not sure if it's "in" or "out" of the root-ceiling)

...we wouldn't all be coming here trying to figure out where the heck they could possibly BE when there's a giant tree right over there.

Description

Thanks to you and all the mortals who defended the Emerald Dream, a new World Tree now grows in the Dragon Isles. Amirdrassil's boughs will be a haven of peace and tranquility, and a place of respite for the kaldorei souls lost at Teldrassil. Tyrande Whisperwind and Shandris Feathermoon are at the tree now. They would share words with you.
