Do not leave the vehicle early(!) when Khadgar says "Fine work. Hold though..." before the rest of the dialogue/NPC interactions play out or you'll have to shoot down the wave of primalists all over again.

Learned this the hard way.

There are 3 waves of this, all the same thing. I thought I was doing something wrong because he kept repeating himself, but no - stay on the gun, get through the waves and it will knock you out automatically when it's done.

I kept shooting and nothing was happening. It took me a while to see - there is a dotted white line - that is your "aim" . Don't "target" anything, use that white line to aim. THEN shoot. It's kinda dotted white line. Hope this helps! My dotted white line was wayyyy down on the ground at first.

Hi all

I present You Storyline Into the Archives. This Storyline is part of Azure Spanner which is criteria for Loremaster of the Dragon Isles.

Storyline in order I done it:

1. Into the Azure - See Masud the Wise 71.6 80.5
2. To the Azure Span - See Glania of the Blessed Ones 41.43 35.6
3. Camp Antonidas - See Noriko the All-Remembering 46.6 40.1 movie will start.
4a. Assemble the Defenses - Get 3 Broken Arcane Device. Location: /way 46.1 39.3 /way 45.8 40.1 /way 46 40.8
4b. Preservation of Knowledge - Find 4 Ancient Tomes. You can fine a lot around.
6. Wrath of the Kirin Tor - jump on Arcane Blaster 46.2 38.8 and using skill 1 take down all dragons. DON'T LEAVE Arcane Blaster until you will get kick out or you will need to kill dragons one more time.
7. Meeting Kalecgos - Go to 46 38.8 press on Supply Portal and from it will drop Bag of Helpful Goods take it. Now go 40.9 55.
8. The Many Images of Kalecgos - Use Crystal Pylon is outside tower then you will be teleported on top level now move to 40.7 59.
9a. Driven Mad - Loot 40 Unstable Arcana from mobs.
9b. Arcane Pruning - First press on Bag of Helpful Goods then Fly to 2 location: 39.5 60.3 and 41.1 62.2 and use there Ley Scepter.
11. Straight to the Top - Fly to location: 39.5 60.3 or 41.1 62.2 and use Bag of Helpful Goods after few sec you will get extra bar use it to get teleport on top platform.
12a. Platform Adjustments - Press on 3 Unstable Arcane Energy they look line big portals ease to see.
12b. Arcane Annoyances - Use Arcane Hook to pull 6 Feasting Wyrm and slay them.
14. Reclaiming the Oathstone - Fly down on ground and speak with Kalecgos Movie will start.
15. Aiding Azure Span - Go to 46.6 40.1 Storyline finish.

Except that even after Khadgar said he was going to have to leave, the quest was STILL unfinished.
Ignore his dialog:
Archmage K says: I’ll shield you for as long as I can…take those drakes down!
Archmage K says: Fall back! We’ll set up defensive positions--
DO NOT STOP YET.
WAIT UNTIL HIS BUBBLE DROPS! This is the worst quest for confusion so far.

Oh thank the lord. I dont know if this was a change to the quest, or if its cause I'm on my alt. But I only had to do one wave instead of 3 like on my main.

There are 3 waves of killing proto-dragons, Khadgar will repeat himself, still stay in the blaster. After the third wave Kalecgos should show up and may or may not do an animation, still stay in the blaster. After Kalecgos will say he needs to go to his oath stone, still stay in the blaster. Khadgar, will say he is going to go to the east, still stay in the blaster. Only once the shield drops down can you get out of the blaster and turn in the quest. As of writing this, this quest was bugged to all get out. Be patient my friend, this is a main quest for the zone.

Is this quest still bugged? I can't get past the shooting them down. The blaster is impossible to target anything . I've tried adjusting it but it goes way beyond into the rocks, or on the ground and I can't target any drakes with it. If I just shoot into the mob they are all still at full health. I've done my fair share of these type shooting quests, but this is the first one where I have been unable to target anything. I shot for a damn hour and still nothing. These type quests are not only time consuming but downright sucks the joy out of the game. This quest has been on the bug list since this xp came put for multiple reasons, I hope they fix it right this time.

This quest is different than most of the shooters. You have to shoot EVERY single dragon in the first wave. So get ready for some carpal tunnel...

After that you just don't move until Kalecgos comes to kill the rest, you have to do nothing other than don't move and stay using the gun.

Is there any way to bypass this and continue the story? Is the campaign bottlenecked here?

I swear I shot the item for an hour and didn't bring down a *single* drake.

I know I can't shoot for Sh*t, but it's just frigging ridiculous!

Blizzard should get an award for such a grandly intuitive quest. I killed em all in first wave, exited. Blaster still active, remounted. Plugging away with no progress, so I INTUITIVELY knew that I had to check wowhead. Cripes almighty, I'm so glad I had a beer at hand to while away the time....

DO NOT LEAVE THE TURRET NO MATTER WHAT - STAY INSIDE IT

To hit the drakes: AIM A BIT AHEAD OF THEM. You WILL miss if you aim at the middle of them. The way it works doesnt let you shoot them on target if you trail the shot. You need to be ahead of the shot to down the dragons.

AND DO NOT GET OFF. It will make you do the entire thing over.

Im soooo effing TIRED of the way Blizzard does targetting things like this in WoW: they are WAY too funky and inaccurate. Its clunky. And frustrating. It takes multiple shots to hit ONE enemy using these firing mechanisms. Whatever system Blizzard is using , its most likely the easiest one for them to implement and the most annoying for us to use. Such is life in WoW.

Worst quest ever, resets if you leave the turret, inaccurate aiming etc. Why does Blizzard has to put a shooting/target quest in a fantasy RPG game? Not only this is annoying, it also breaks the immersion of the game.

Is this already bugged? When I first did it at release, if I remember well, when Lalec arrives, he froze/kills the enemy with some flashy breath attack, but now, he just flying in, the elementals suddenly disappears, the proto drakes still going in random cirles, and the quest is over.

Good job, it took only 1 big content patch to let it go...

This quest is the perfect example of some of the worst parts of WoW quests : hard to aim shooter with input-lag, leave and the quest resets (they're so inconsistent with their questdesign -with some quests it's fine and some not), and when Kalec comes in there's supposed to be an animation of him destroying the enemies but nothing happens and the enemies just become friendly for some reason.. Ah, well.
