Currently a bug on this; if you die by another player: Your character will get completely stuck and constantly disconnect. Creating a character stuck request has taken over 8 hours without any information regarding it.

Careful when dragonriding with a Proto-drake wrangled. You can lose them, if you don't quickly go back and click on them.
There is also particularly nasty long respawn timer on these Proto-drakes, I suspect to promote PvP.
You get 10% per drake.

This ^&*! is bugged beyond belief. Stuck at 100% and the world quest doesn't complete. Can't do anything. Actually infuriating

I dont know if it was just me, but while in Valdrakken with warmode OFF i was able to see the world quest marker on the map, but the marker would disappear if i went to the area the quest was in in the waking shores with warmode OFF, with warmode ON there was no issue with the marker/quest disappearing.

Other mixed PVP/PVE world quests didnt do this to me, like the one next to cobalt assembly to kill the little arcane elementals or players.

World quest immediately vanishes when I leave Valdrakken. Annoying.

Step 1: Make sure you have War Mode ON
Step 2: Make sure you have at least 1 bag space for the rope to wrangle the dragons or you wont get credit for anything
Step 3: kill other players and/or
Step 4: attack dragons until they are below 50% health, use the rope to wrangle them and run them back to the NPC

You need to wrangle a total of 10 dragons. Fewer if you kill players.
You can rope more than 1 at a time and drag them around with you.
You can mount when you have dragons roped and following you. You can fly a little bit BUT you can accidentally fly too fast and drop the ones you have.

I could see the WQ on my map but when I flew there it disappeared. Went to SW to enable warmode, HS back and now I can do the quest.

This world quest is horrible
Drakes can detach if you fly a little too fast
also sometimes i bring 3 and they count as 1 (10%)

Stick to killing players for fast completion.

For everyone having issues with the quest disapearing when you leave town, you need to be in war mode for the quest.

That being said, this is a horrible quest, its a Free for all PvP area with no GY res, or timer res.
I am all for extended res timers in open world PvP, this is not open world PvP, its a FFA arena where you can rack up a signifigant amount of deaths in a short period of time.

I'm not sure if this is intended, an oversite, or a bug, but it sucks.

How to Train a Proto-Drake should be the Third Challenge of Tyr: Persistence.

This is a melee wpvp area. Players get credit and honor for killing anyone.

If you choose to train Wild Proto-Drakes, you need to weaken and then tame them (just click), then fly (or run) them to the turn-in platform on the high stone bridge.

Once you tether a Wild Proto-Drake, the rope may break if you fly too fast. You won't know until you reach the turn-in point.

While doing this you’ll have to avoid attacks or fend them off.

Orient yourself to the river. The turn-in point is in the middle of a high stone bridge over a chasm. Once you have tamed a Wild Proto-Drake the map and mini-map will show a large red X for the turn-in point. Fly towards it even if tree branches block your view.

Eat Wild Dragon Fruit which lies in sparkling piles on the ground. In the field, the fruit provides a buff, either invisibility or ground speed. The fruit can't be collected.

Wild Proto-Drakes are shown on the mini-map as yellow dots. But it's easier and faster to scan the ground for Wild Proto-Drakes — they're large and they stay on the ground. If you see a large number of Wild Proto-Drakes at the base of a waterfall — you’re outside the quest area.

Weaken a Wild Proto-Drake as much as possible — you'll can't kill it. The nameplate will quickly turn from red to green. Click the Wild Proto-Drake to tame it. Don't bother trying to use the Proto-Drake Wrangler Rope. If you're attacking a pair of proto-drakes, be sure to click on both to tame.

Always get on your mount as soon as you tame a Wild Proto-Drake. You may have to wait a few seconds before you're considered out of combat. You can then move on the ground or fly.

If you intend to fly, cover some distance on the ground, if possible. This will reduce the speed and height you'll need to fly.
To fly, double jump using the space bar instead of using Soar — you'll have less speed and the chain is less likely to break.
When you reach the turn-in circle, sit there on your mount and wait for your Wild Proto-Drake to land. You may not see the chain, but it may not be broken and your drake may fly in after all.
Use a land route to bring in Wild Proto-Drakes, when possible. There are sloping paths on either side of the ravine that lead to the stone bridge turn-in point. Wild Proto-Drakes won't get away from you on land.
