For me, it didn't summon anyone but dropped Bootus Shocks instead. I suppose it's random what it will give or if it will summon Muckribbon or not.

Forgotten Angler's Rod is a Treasure located in Dredgewood - Revendreth.
After open the treasure will appear Muckribbon, kill this mob to loot the toy Bat Visage Bobber.

Not sure if it's on a timer or bugged, but it's not spawning as of the second day of expansion launch.

Edit: After doing the quest where I have to ride the large dredger guy, it spawned, so either it's on the timer or it's tied to finishing that quest first.

Got the alert from rare scanner after I finished Dredger Quest. Headed over only to see a Horde player battling Muckribbon. Muckribbon was grey to me. I still attacked, but no loot as tied to Horde. Rod has now vanished, even after zoning out and back in. Might have to wait until I get another toon levelled up to try this again, or come back tomorrow.

Summoned Muckribbon and seems to have a respawn timer of about 27 minutes

i have 200 shadowlands fishing and finished the dredge quests and the pole is not visible for me

I was tabbed out while reading the comments for this item when it spawned and a member of my opposing faction tagged Muckribbon. For science, I decided to stay there and wait to see how long it would take for the fishing rod to spawn. I started to wait at 1:01pm server time and it respawned at 1:16 server time, so I'd say it's on a 15 minute respawn timer.

At first this wasn't visible to me either. I did the quest chain from the guy near the location as well. Still nothing. So I did what another commenter said he did was he went to where the rod spawned and started fishing. For me , Five casts later, my rare / chest alert went off and lo and behold I could see the rod. Clicked on the rod, fought the NPC that spawned and looted my new bat bobber. So I'm not exactly sure what triggers it, but I wanted to share what I did.

TL;DR - Do quest chain from NPC near by and fish at rod location until it spawns

Didn't do Rendle's quest and found the rod and after the fight the bat visage bobber.
Seems only having Fishing is the ticket here.

All the comments on this are a mess. You absolutely DO NOT need to do that sidequest everyone here is mentioning. It's on a ~15 minute timer. Be aware when you summon it that if the opposite faction tags it, you won't get the tag or loot.

Given other comments in this section as well as my own experience, this appears to indeed be on a timer and not gated behind quests. I have no quests in this area and was out simply hunting the treasure when I pulled too many mobs. I interacted with the rod, not realizing how hard the summoned mob hits, then bravely ran away to recover. Once I returned, the rod had not respawned, but a kindly other player had taken it upon themselves to relieve the summoned mob of it's life, leaving me with nothing and no rod. Did the science which was made of waiting, and the rod took 20ish minutes to reappear.

Rod was up. I interacted with rod. Mob spawned. I ran away very bravely. I returned. Rod and mob gone and dead. Rod respawn ~20 minutes later

Clicked on the rod, opposing faction tagged Muckribbon first. No loot, no rod.

Hopefully it will come up again? I don't understand why Blizz would make this non-elite/rare.

So I waited 15-20 min before doing the quests, then went back and have now been fishing for over 20 min at the spot and the rod doesn't want to spawn.

EDIT: never mind, right after I posted that the rod spawned.

You don't need to fish at all, not sure about the quest line as I already completed it and it is just on a 15-20 ish spawn timer.

Ok, spawn timer seems to be around 15 - 20 mins, max I would say 30 minutes. The thing is, I was at the spot around 03.05am. it didn't spawn till 03.33am ish. Am not sure if it was the spawn time or I missed 1 spawn. If you guys have problem having this spawn for you, it may not actually be that it didn't spawn.

I had camera panned all the way out. I realized that when I zoomed in, I could then see the foliage and details of the purple grass. Being panned all the way out would just show the ground and none of the foliage/grass details etc. It was only when I zoomed in and the rod spawned. It could just be coincidence, but if it seems to cross 30 min mark and it doesn't spawn no harm trying zooming in until you see the foliage etc.

P.S. Could also just be graphic settings, my ground clutter is set to the minimum '1'.

Click the Forgotten Angler's Rod in the Dredgewood in Revendreth and defeat the Muckribbon that appears out of the water and can have an Bat Visage Bobber with it.

If you look down at the top of the elevator from the Pridefall Hamlet you will see a tree on an island surrounded by water, to the right of the tree is the Forgotten Angler's Rod.

Take the elevator down and then go right over to the island.

Well it's bugged for me, been there over an hour. Did the quest nearby too, fished and waited. I have 169 fishing in Shadowlands, I'm in the right spot. Have seen others come and get it yet I cant see it. So either it's bugged or I'm missing something.
