tell me who is dis jailor
Retcons. And, if you think about it, now that classic is out... well, retail IS WOW2.
Guys you forget something. There are 2(!) eternal beings in Shadownlads. The Maw is NOT where the souls go, normally. Historically they go to the Arbiter first. The Judge in the City of Oribos decides which Covenant get the soul or if it is destined to go to the Maw as it is too vile to go anywhere else. The Maw is the Part of the Shadowlands which is reigned over by the Jailer.So, if at all, the Boss of Bwonsamdi ist the Arbiter, not the Jailer.
Looking great
Curious to see all the plot tie in's they've been planting along the way especially more about heyla's role and argus's
I can kinda' get on board with the whole Shadowlands storyline. However, there have been so many things that I've not been fond of from BfA leading into Shadowlands, most of which revolve around Sylvanas. Certain things would make it seem that the writers/game director show inconsistency and impulsiveness and thus make these seemingly sudden twists. Personally, I wish Chris was back to lead the story into the future.
The connections between the Maw and the realm of the living are eerie...I’m sure that will be fleshed out as part of the story in Shadowlands!
I think Sylvanas being a villan was a looooong time coming. I'm just surprised at the amount of mental gymnastics done by her fanboys to justify the multitude of evils she committed. Most horde leaders turned a blind eye figuring they'd rather have her on their side rather than against them. Well the joke is on them now.
Wow didnt expect Argus to be part of this plot.
Hope Sylvanas will have a bad end.
Omg what! Sylvannas wanted Vol'jin to die. And we thought it was all just an accident.
She must be batman, she has plans for plans that have plans.
I'm going to disagree with the Argus speculation, because I'm not sure how the titans get their "assigned" powers.Is it the case that they absorb, or otherwise react to, the energy that is most prevalent around their world seed? Or do they have a certain affinity to a magic based on (insert arbitrary criteria) while they're world seeds that they carry through into their humanoid forms. It hasn't seemed the case that the established Pantheon titans represented any phenomenon or specific power exclusively, at least not overtly. Aman'Thul was associated with time and arcane magics, and Eonar with Life, but it doesn't seem that they have the role of managing those specific elements across the universe throughout all of time, instead only use them in the cases of their ordering of the worlds. (I haven't actually read Chronicles completely, just the first, and I didn't notice anything about this in there, so feel free to correct me, but it has been implied that Chronicle is written from the Titans perspective, and thus there should be at least some mention of how they got their associated powers, or their responsibilities outside of ordering worlds looking for more Titans.)All that being said, outside of a few quotes and a similar aesthetic, which is usually sufficient for plenty of speculation, what other evidence is there that Argus has associations with Death? Was he just magically originally associated with Death? Or did he become associated with it through the actions of the Legion, although surely that would associate him more with Fel (like Sargeras) than with Death? Was Argus, the world, close to a thin veil between Reality and the Shadowlands allowing Argus, the titan, to absorb the energy of the shadowlands and become associated with Death? If that is the case, then I admire the writers for tying Argus back into current continuity after, what I thought, was a shamefully short story (the invasion of Argus could have, and should have, been a whole expansion imo) but I would like to think that the Jailer himself caused the disruption in the machine of Death. I imagine that he could have used the massive in-flow of souls from Teldrassil to distract the Arbiter, then was able to somehow disrupt her further using his own magic in a burst that was powerful enough to escape the Maw, but doing so weakened him temporarily, so he needed the continuing flow of souls into the Maw to strengthen himself further.
Seeing as how the cinematic has her saying she will free us from our prison and the big bad is the jailer, I'd imagine Sylvanas is either trying to kill the jailer or take his position as being in charge of death. Probably the second. Both give the valkyr a reason to work for her, as it would free them from the jailer too.
Awe Ogmot called me a stupid sheepie...
Still all too hypothetical. At least by know the story developers should put the storys into the game so people can definately know instead of guessing. I mean the story with sylvanas is going on since cata and we still barely have a clue what she really did in secrecy. This isnt story telling. This is holding a carrot on a stick tactic while dropping some turds in the path for us to look through if there is some gold nuggets inside. Indeed we find some but we still dont have a clear picture of the whole. Its like having a puzzle and we have like a dozen pieces of a hundred in total. This isnt fun or any form of hype. At some point I just lost interest to follow that part of the story because there is pretty much nothing to go on except guesses.
I just want Vol'jin to be okay ;_;
