Little mistake in the post?:
I, for one, think this is a great idea. Having our mounts too afraid to be summoned. It would be totally awesome though if say undead type mounts are able to be summoned, such as Midnight or any of the Skeletal Warhorses.
This is actually pretty cool im sure a lot of people are gonna rage over this but as it is now you cant mount at all if you have a problem with thid you can still choose not to use it and keep walking the game needs more unique things like this it makes it exciting and its kinda like the mage tower it shows you had the skill to earn that
I love when we get lore and gameplay reasons for restrictions makes earning items like this feel very rewarding
Boy I triggered some people, my my!(you need stats before you can stipulate populations of people that do and don't like a change, btw)It's pretty simple guys - in every expansion we've been able to use ground mounts to get around in every zone, now that's being taken away arbitrarily. Is it so to wade through lots of mobs to get where we're going, to stay "immersed" in the game world? If you enjoy the "immersion" walking from Point A to Point B provides, then go for it, I'm not stopping you, I'll never stop you (or give you up, or let you down), please feel free to walk every where. If that's your idea of immersion I encourage you to also remove the mount button from your action bar and immerse yourself all the time - don't mount up, use flight points, trams/zeppelins, and for heaven's sake, don't fly! Think of how immersed you'll be!If you want to strut around your local mailbox to show off how awesome you are at getting through 8 layers of Torghast and get a special mount, then by all means, go right ahead. I might even see you and throw you a high five because you're awesome! What an achievement! But for the rest of us that really just want to have some fun playing the game, an artificial limitation like this feels... well... artificial. At no point in time would I condone removing content that someone else enjoys just to placate my playstyle. I don't pvp, can't stand it, so I simply don't do it. I don't care for the hardcore raid scene, so I simply don't do it. There are many things in the game that aren't my cup of tea, but I wouldn't condone removing them simply because I don't care to see them. In the end, you need to ask yourself why you like this type of change - clearly a number of people do, but why? Is it so you can race to the top of a tower to unlock a mount? Right on, go for it, I collect mounts too! Is it because you want to be immersed in the world? Right on, walk around and enjoy! But if it's because you want to see other people enjoy the game the same way you do, then maybe you need to take a moment to ponder what you get out of the game, and why. Personally, I'm "immersed" in corporate antics where decisions like this are seldom made for the benefit of the customer, even if it's cast in a light to make them think so. No decision is arbitrary and one simply needs to look at the path we've trodden to have an idea of where it leads. While I don't mind getting beat up for my opinions I can see where this is going, so I'll simply bow out and move on. Hey, I hope I see you in the Maw with your shiny new mount, I'll be sure to /highfive!
Why not just allow mounting in general and not just for one?Seems kinda contradictory to the reasoning behind the water-strider nerf.
'Mounting in the Maw with the Corridor Creeper' sounds like a Rob Zombie song.
I was gonna rush through the tower anyways because I wanted to mount before others, so that's a bonus I suppose!
Hati has an item that will let you mount him and ride around. Someone needs to test that in the Beta.
booooo i want to do bare minimum in boreghast
