Why do people want to restrict "unfair advantages" of other classes? If druids and worgen get to keep their speed, good for them. I don't even play a druid nor a worgen and I like the concept of working my way to having a mount for that specific zone. Leave the class/race flavor as it is people and stop whining!
i think the idea is pretty cool. but it would be neat if the corridor creeper would look like the hearthstone corridor creeper. would be fitting and a bit more unique than just a bear re-skin

Waterstrider 2.0
We'll likely do something like throw the maw out of whack later in the expansion allowing us to call on all mounts but at first, this is just to slow down progress.
Step 1. Introduce mounts with abilities like water walking.Step 2. Remove abilities from mounts like water walking - and introduce mount equipment to replace it.Step 3. Introduce mounts with abilities that useful in niche circumstances again.
They should make a mount equipment to drop on Torghast so any mount can be used in the maw.
I really enjoy things like this in the game.
Ouch. Time gate everything why don't ya? Actually, this is worse - something that's been intrinsic for literally every single expansion is being taken away for what, "immersion". Again with the immersion nonsense. Look it's pretty simple: walking and running enthusiasts can walk and run, non-flying enthusiasts can ground mount themselves happily on the ground. But for the rest of us, let the mounts work as they've worked for oh-so-long. But you can't, can you? Gotta keep those subs up. Gotta keep the corporate talking heads happy. Gotta keep papa Activision paying the bills or people get laid off. So far this expansion sounds worse than BfA, which is saying something. Hopefully they reverse the decision to not allow mounts in the Maw, and just make this a fun reward for making it to the top.To all the people screaming "entitlement!"... please, feel free to walk everywhere in the game, nobody is stopping you. What I do with the game has no bearing on what you do, so polish up those Heroic/Mythic/M+ boots and get out there and walk.
Heheh, first it was flying that had to be unlocked, and now they're starting to sprinkle in having to unlock ground mounts as well. Pretty soon mounts will only be allowed in legacy content.
8 to 12 hours isn't bad, but does your ilevel matter? Or does Torghast just obliterate concerns with gearing? Does a group make it easier?
I agree that this should have been mount equipment, not a specific mount. They seem to completely forget prior work. Like, you know, when the 8.2 tools of the trade weren't useful in 8.3 for most profs... Completely forget what it was for apparently. The problem is, they invalidate our progression so very often that we are all - rightfully - skeptical that they can ever introduce a system that works for more than 3 months.
wait, you need 12 hours staight to get the mount or like 2 hours today, 1 hour tomorrow etc?
This has nothing to do with Blizz being "scummy" in the way most think. I've been in alpha and beta - the real reason for no mounting in Maw is because of how extremely tiny it is. All the SL zones are smaller than any past expansion zones. Honestly, you'll get around it just fine running because of how small it is. I still don't agree with the no mount thing, but that's the actual reason.
