I sort of get it. WoW is full of players who don't really want to play the game. All they want to do is get to max Level, high levels of gear and raid. Raiding is fun, I admit but to reduce the game to a simple rush from Level 1 to max (and not even that with instant character boosts) and into the newest raid is NOT playing the game. Still those who see nothing of value in anything but the highest levels of play have whined loudly and constantly against questing and especially against daily quests. Blizzard has heard their pissing and moaning and given us dailies re-branded as "World Quests" and devolved a lot of dailies onto followers. With followers we get to send the pretense of an NPC off into a pretense of a quest for some actual rewards. In the time it takes me to pay attention to my followers and their quests I could have completed 2-3 dailies with about the same amount of rewards. At the same time Blizzard has taken the long longed for home for our toons and turned it into a high maintenance locale that is its own sub-game. Getting the deed to Sunsong Ranch in the Valley of the Four Winds was almost what we wanted. If it had had a shelf or two on which to display some of our bric-a-brac (e.g. some of the lore books that we keep in our bank, Sylvanus' Musicbox, etc.), a closet for our tabards and old gear, cold storage for excess food and cooking materials plus a bed, a chair and table and room to have a few guests in we would have reached a level of perfection and happiness. We got several good things: a collections tab for tabards, transmog gear, mounts and pets. We got bank slots for crafting materials and stacks to 200 for most things (I still don't understand why buff food only stacks to 20.) I am grateful beyond measure for all of those additional ways of storing things. but WoW is in serious danger of completely losing its way The original game (Vanilla through Wrath) had focus. The literary tradition of knight errantry was in full flower. Players quested to hone their skills and earn higher level gear and talents. WoW is not FarmVille, The Sims, Pokemon, or any of the other games that have accreted to it in the last 8 years. I am happy that some folks want to spend their time in pet battles or other ancillary pursuits but that is not WoW. Followers, pet battles and such take the focus away from the basic game and its lore. I prefer to do my own questing, earn my own rewards and suffer my own consequences, thank you. Let's have done with followers and get on with the game.
Without the gold from follower missions. I wouldn't even have game time or BfA. So I love that they're bringing these back.
I get about 400k a month just sending them out with little effort
As long as we're not met with " Do this mission, wait 12 hours to progress " I honestly don't care if it returns.I hated the time gating aspects of it, hopefully they won't return.
YAY! Unlike all the Negative Nellies out there, I LOVE the mission system. My minions have been making me gold for a long time. Hopefully this will continue into BfA.So all those people who posted messages that there would be NO followers and NO missions in Bfa (even before there was a beta) need to polish their crystal balls...
I like missions. There you go. I said it.That being said.... I will admit that doing them on alts can be a pain, but, leveling them up to 120 will be a pain too. It's called playing the game. If that is painful to you then... maybe you shouldn't play alts.I'm not upset to see missions back, it's a nice thing to do when I'm having a busy day and can't play much that day. Some reward is better than no reward, right? To those of you complaining, why? If it's such a hassle, why do you bother doing them then? Does everything about this game have to be tuned to your wants, why can't I have things I like, and you guys can have things you like? I don't understand this entitlement for the game to be completely about you and your desires. This game is for casual people, for hardcore people, for lame people, for ultra skilled people, for everyone. Everyone can find fun on wow; so why must you persist in trying to get rid of things for the people who aren't like you? Just some food for thought.
This gimmick was fine for two expansions, but I think it's time to stop. Farming their experience and equipment is a total hassle and definitely not alt-friendly.
I thought they had given up on this idea.I don't HATE it, but it's not the best thing either.
More of this trash that they consider content. Why does Blizzard take good features from other games and just completely destroy them?

Mmmm, free gold.
We'd rather be demoted severely than be called 'commander'. We're rookies, not veterans.
Guess it is too late in the Garrison/follower system' life cycle to make them optional like the farm was.. So we are stuck with this system. I only hope they don't continue with the followers stuff in every expansion here on out. It is about time they come up with something new already. This looks like what the warfronts are going to be, a garrison with a new coat of paint, honestly..So, my suggestion would be to not have players spend time, and whatever resources needed) on leveling and gearing followers. We spend a lot of time leveling our own toons to be having to babysit npcs with their leveling as well.It only slows down our own leveling progress.
I've made millions of gold from these mission tables so I'm all for them staying. Hopefully these give more gold per mission then what Legions did.
