The 25 yard range problem really has become more and more prominent over the expansion, it just seems so unecessary! Please Blizzard, please review the range!
something tells me blizzard is still gonna dig their heels in on the range issue for evoker.
* Half the range of a true ranged dps is a MASSIVE limitation, in a fair game, any limitation must be compensated elsewhere, a fair tradeoff must be offered. In a world, where a HUNTER can do 100% of their dps on the run from 40yd away while also topping the meters, devastation looks like an insult to the player. 25yd range could have been okay, if hover did not have any cooldown, or you could cast at least disintegrate and living flame on the run, I see absolutely no reason not to. Make disintegrate and living flame castable on the run and empowered spells on the run during hover and you will fix this spec. ...to a degree of course. Fight mechanics that were never designed with a half-ranged class will always cause grief to the players. To ask blizzard to design fights around having Dev is asking too much, they will and they are forgetting already this spec even exists when making fights mechanics. Just do your players a favor and remove 25yd limitation or allow core dps spells to be cast on the run.* Firestorm at this point is basically a "noob detector". When you see a firestorm, you know there is a complete newbie playing evoker. Some times they even cast it on a single target, thinking it's some kind of DoT. Cringeworthy spell.* Aug did not need even more advantage over dev and yet you gave them a "cheat death" talent.Currently I am burnt out off the game, the subscription has ran out and i'm not renewing it. The majority of the burnout was caused by the evoker class. Devastation gameplay and the entire Aug shenanigans which is another can of worms. And i'm not alone here. Why blizzard are so hellbent on sticking to things that were PROVEN to FAIL is beyond me. Well then keep bleeding subs, only your shortsighted and stubborn policy is to blame for that. PS: whoever was that dude that said Dev needs more buttons - no, thanks. I already have all the keys around WSAD where my fingers can reach them mapped to spells and additional mouse keys for shattering star and self heal. We don't need the bloat. This is not "fun", this is a cancer. Fun game is less buttons but more interaction between them. Maybe that person is a "clicker" though. You can't play good while being a clicker.
Not only is firestorm a terrible spell, I can't stand how it looks visually. I hope that whole left side gets reworked. There's an elite in Forbidden Reach that casts this sick fire/lava tornado spell that would be much more intriguing. I agree with everyone else... I hope they lean heavily into big laser beams and fire breaths.Azure strike, 40-yard range.Glyphs in general and one for permanent Visage. Glowy eyes for Visage form.The shield Aug's get for casting Deep Breath.
