The zone that left the most lasting impression on me is in fact a Catacylsm zone: Darkshore.I hadn't made a night elf ever in nearly three years, so I decided to create a Druid to experience the new zones. There are some spoilers ahead, so if you do not want to have them spoiled, please do not read further. One of the quests over in Darkshore has you saving NPC's that were drowning or dying from Deathwings rush over Kalimdor. I started to recognize these names of the NPC's as the ones that I took quests from when I was questing ages ago on my original Night Elf. These people felt immortal to me, and here they were dying and dead. It struck a heavy tone in me.
My favourite is Grizzly Hills. As a Canadian it always reminds me of my home (minus the humanoid bears, and giant walking trees). Even after the push into Cataclysm content, every now and then I like to leave behind the city lights of Orgrimmar, throw on my Red Lumberjack Shirt, equip my Lumberjack Axe and head on home (because, as everyone knows...all Canadians are lumberjacks).
The Cape of Stranglethorn
I really like Deadwind Pass, because it's a lot of fun to fly dramatically ("Top Gun it") through the canyons and archways. However, Stranglethorn Vale wins out overall. I love Trolls, the jungle feel is there, and I have tons of PvP memories from playing in Vanilla, where it was always a total warzone.
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
Wintergrasp is my favorite zone in the whole game even though now it's empty since it's an 80 world pvp zone. The whole zone just looked absolutely amazing and a lot of good memories when battles would happen.
I love Redridge Mountains; the peacefulness of it; the quests (particularly 'An Unwelcome Guest'); of course the Everstill Bridge and just the landscape as a whole. A truly beautiful zone.
Definitely Uldum. The Harrison Jones quest line is awesome, great mining and herbing, and best of all...GNOMEBLITERATION!
Eastern Plaguelands in vanilla times was the place u could fell real death and pain lots of evil pass those roads. In each of the Ziggurats and Slaughterhouses you can find how much bad things happen there how many human life's was sacrifice there this place should be put on top scary places in WoW vanilla times
I have to agree with so many other people; Nagrand is still my favorite zone by far. In addition to the beautiful scenery being such a refreshing change from the rest of the BC zones, I loved the re-appearance of Nesingwary, and the introduction of the Ring of Blood quest chain that was reused in WotLK & Cataclsym. Also, from the Horde perspective, the zone's quests were so rich in story compared to what we would normally see. The story of the Mag'har and redemption of Hellscream were gripping enough to make you want to see all the quests through to the end. Completing the zone with the scripted arrival of The Warchief still remains to be one of the more memorable quest experiences.
my favorite zones are definately all the post-cataclysm Forsaken areas, Brill, Andhoral, the battle front at the border with gilneas... all the new Forsake architecture is just AWESOME... as a mater of fact yesterday i started a Forsaken alt just to run all the quest lines there
My favourite zone has to be Redridge Mountains after the shattering, the revamp of the quests there was amazing i loved every single quest, beginning with John J Keeshan working all my way up to AHHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHHHH! which had to be my most favourite quest there, and one of the most sadest endings to a quest ever with Darkblaze, Bood of the Worldbreaker thinking that John J Keeshan was dead, but came back eventually to start off the quests in Searing Gorge. All in all best zone ever and i will always come here with my new characters just for the fun of the new quests.
My favorite zone is Karazhan, because is a so big and magical library, it is so exicting and fun. if you have read the books you will see it's a very rare. It is alot different than everything else! It's like a whole world in itself!
