Wow.. a very though question... :-s There many impressive zones in Azeroth and beyond..Before volcano errupted, Ashenvale was wonderful.. But now I think Nagrand is cosier for me to fly or sit on a floating island and relax..
My favourite zone has to be vashj'ir as I love all the amazing scenery sometimes I go there and just swim around. I have not quested much just enough to get the underwater mount so it is a bit quicker to get around. The best thing has to be all the giant plants. Also I really like all the different colours.
My favourite zone is Mount Hyjal - great look and quest experience
Vash'jir is just a such amazing zone you can really see all their work done and getting a seahorse was a awsome idea. Just all the mobs and terrain is the best, unbeatable! Just so damn beast ;)
Vanilla: Duskwood is my favorite place for the storyline and dark, moody atmosphere. It's still one of my favorite places to level my characters.Burning Crusade: Netherstorm's noisy hum of mana forges and the awe of a shattered Draenor floating alongside the stolen Tempest Keep is quite special.Wrath of the Lich King: All the hidden caves and Titan structures that riddle the Storm Peaks set the perfect stage of an amazing storyline.Cataclysm: Uldum is probably one of the most enjoyable zones in the game for its storyline and variety of landscape.
My favorite zone is Zul'Drak. The quests it had were really fun and it felt like Warcraft 3 for me, assaulting undead and nerubians in northrend! WotLK and Zul'Drak helped me fall back in love with WoW.
Hyjal for the story
My favourite zone is Nagrand. After a long day of hard work, i would like to perch (i play a tauren druid) atop of a building and just admire the scenery. It always calms my soul just looking at such a beautiful landscape. The npcs in Nagrand are also very special as they are members of the unique Mag'har faction. On top of the glamorously set zone, it also has many interesting and fun quests that i find awesome as they are a break from the classic "alien" monsters u find in outlands. A little like going back to the good old low level questing in places like the barrens. Also, upon research, i learnt that Nagrand also has a resemblance to Nazca in Peru including the "Nazca lines" there, which are depicted by markings along the ground in Nagrand. This real life reference also makes it an interesting and well thought out place and when coupled with the beautiful scenery, makes it my favourite zone. But more importantly, when i sit and stare at the dazzling graphics, i think to myself: Is there life out there in the planets, the stars above? Are we really alone in the world we live in? What makes us so different from the citizens of azeroth, fighting over our everyday nitty gritty conflicts, not knowing of what is really out there? When i think of the bigger concepts, to pause awhile at this moment of time, think of who we really are and whether we -humans, are really at the top of it all, or maybe, just maybe, somewhere out there, there are intelligent beings or even planets that could sustain life. With all these big concepts flowing in my head as well as a nice quiet evening to myself staring at the amazing landscape, sipping a nice cup of earl grey tea, i think to myself: Wow.
my favorite place is the Knights of the Ebon Blade's Headquarters, Archerus, The Ebon Hold, in Plaguelands: The Scarlet Enclave, next to Eastern Plaguelands. i love the way it makes you feel like walking through a graveyard and the Runeforges add an arcane feeling to the dark place. i played the Death Knight for the first time and looked around and thought, 'wow, this really is the best place to have as a home.' it puts a feeling of power into you sometimes.
My favourite zone is Dragonblight. I loved that when I saw it first time. These Dragonshrines are beautiful, especially Ruby Dragonshrine - I love rubys (have some rubys in my collection, in real life :P). I like the Wyrmrest Temple, too! I used to make some screenshots here - my character in the background of Temple and inside Ruby or Emerald Dragonshire. That castle at New Hearthglen is very interestings too. I love Dragonblight due to these all beautiful views! Scenery is the best! And I remembered that one time I participated in wedding - It just happened in the Ruby Dragonshrine.
Have to say Mulgore is my favorite. Liked it before the shattering, but was very saddened to hear of the death of The Tauren Chieftain. Absolutely loved the funeral pyre set up in his honor at red rock. Thank you blizzard
I would say that my favourite zone is Ghostlands.Having started as a Blood Elf, that was the first real questing zone. Not that it's excesively beautiful, but it has its beauty. (creepy but beautiful)Not an ideal place for a date, but it's nice to see how the architecture still stands defiantly facing Arthas.
My favourite zone was pre-cataclysm Stranglethorn valley, specially during the Classical Wow days. The feeling of being hunted at every corner in that world-pvp infested jungle is still one of my fondest gaming experiences ever, and I used to create chars just in order to do that again. Hope that blizzard will manage to recreate that again sometime in the future. Also, the quest lines were interesting, both horde and alliance, and saving princesses from King Kong or chasing elusive beasts on the jungle was great.
