its interesting discussion. You know guys many times people was talking missing me old TBC times hehe its funny because Catalysm come and we will again talking about days like missing me old Wotlk times. And this is one of reason why blizz guys didnt made lvl 90 like a cap. They made 85 for another reasons too but i think ...wotlk is not exhausted so i think 5 lvl up-down we can continue in wotlk too on lvl 85. Take TBC raids for 20-40 people. Was cap 70 lvl now on 80 lvl we can do in 10 people (geared) BT. And here is finall reason why blizz guys didnt made lvl 90 like cap. On lvl 85 you still can making ICC raids. So 80-85 lvl isnt big difference. Only on cata will be better gear...and some other changes. I want only say we will have on 85 lvl same difficulty like on wotlk. I dont think Wotlk is exhausted.
The only good thing that came out of LK was the dungeon finder.
Personally, I think the golden age of WotLK is definitely over. In fact, right now I only play it sometimes in the evenings to either raid with my guild, or to level up an alt. For now I'm just waiting for Cataclysm, patch 3.3.5, patch 3.3.9, or Midsummer Fire Festival to come out.Until then though, I'll have Warhammer Online to amuse me... And once I get bored of that, who knows, maybe I can get back to farming rare mounts on my main.
You can leave, but you will be back, they ALWAYS COMEBACK.Nobody leaves the KGB......I mean Blizz.
Of course LK is winding down... All real content is over. The only things we have left are Ruby Sanctum (bleh) and the beginnings of the Cataclysm.
I have 4 level 80 toons, some alliance some horde, none as progressed or geared as you but yes as soon as the Lich King bit the dust it was kinda over for me.Not that I don't still play like a crack addict, but that aside you could maybe go terrorize Goldshire, grab a friend and hit up MC or BWL, (T1/T2 are always in style), how about beat up some goblins in Booty Bay you can never have too many Bloodsail Admirals, or go pants Baron Rivendare and steal his mount while he's distracted. The list could go on.... Granted none of these things are WoTLK related but, in my opinion you have to look at the game as a whole to fully appreciate it and make the fun last. In a world of instant gratification we are our own worst enemy. I guess what I'm trying to say is if you look hard enough there's always something to do in wow!
I don't understand. Of course LK is exhausted. The end-of-expansion boss has been released and killed. What exactly are you looking for? The same end-of-expansion lethargy happened at the end of TBC.
ArgentSun, about a month and a half ago, I was letting my little brother do my dailies. He died, and kicked the hard-drive, and WoW jammed. Now, that's not the point. The point is that I couldn't log into WoW anymore for longer than five minutes. And I mean this literally - it took me two weeks to complete one set of dailies. Now, I thought I was going to be really dissapointed for not being able to play WotLK as a level 80 for quite some time.I had been really excited - I had just gotten my first 80, had him geared up in full Triumph, was farming heroics, got my epic flyer... But I was surprised to see that I got over it within a day. Yes, I do think Wrath of the Lich King is worn out - there was nothing there keeping me going. I really didn't know where I'd go next. After I gemmed and enchanted, sure, I would've gone on to raiding, but after that what? What also surprised me was that I never once asked my parents to take the computer for repairs - I was actually glad to be free from WotLK for a while.
Yes, I think it is. Anything after the Icecrown Raid is just kicking a dead horse. I haven't logged in for over a month and there's absolutely nothing I miss about the game, not even the LK fight and the rest of ICC, and I have nearly zero interest in the Ruby Sanctum. Only the fact that the events there will lead up to other pre-Cataclysm happenings has me considering coming back before the next ex-pack actually ships.
Unfortunately this seems to be what happens every time an expansion is on the horizon. People grow restless, accounts lapse, and many good guilds are torn apart by the lull in activity. Even if they do throw us a bone to try to keep us interested (like Ruby Sanctum) it seems a bit pointless. We've already hit the "end" of Wrath. We've killed the big bad guy, so what's our motivation to keep going?I am excited about Cataclysm, but I've hit the point where I feel like there's not much left for me to do in the current game. (Obviously there's a lot I could do still, but much of it seems tedious or like I'm just retreading old ground.) So, for the time being, I'm playing very casually and getting my account "ready" for Cataclysm. I'm cleaning out banks, selling things that won't be useful anymore while they're still worth something, finishing up tradeskills and quests I got lazy on, saving up a little gold, deleting alts that I lost interest in, etc. It's not quite as dull as it sounds and leaves me feeling like I've accomplished something when I log off, so it's enough to keep me going.
Well of course WoTLK is pretty much over. I'm into ICC with one char, and have 2 other 80s right now, but I have very little motivation to play since i've gone through every zone 3 times and have seen most of it. I'm glad they decided to at least change Azeroth since once you go to Outlands you don't even remember going 58-68, same with Northrend. Azeroth is mostly the annoying grind for me, its just getting old. PVP is only preventing the inevitable.Of course the same thing happened with CoD 4, it was like "Wow this is cool!" then after 10th prestige, maybe 1 or 2 golden guns, it just gets boring.
