Storyline Pattern & Pet Acquisition Compilation:For the Whelp Daycare storyline, they seem to use this pattern for all hatchlings...

Day 1 - Egg Acquisition/Hatching + Nest Preparation
Day 2 - Feed the Hatchling + Play Tag
Day 3 - "Adventure" with your Hatchling (unlocks whelp-specific Daily Quests and forces whelp-specific Hide & Seek Daily once)
Day 4 - Find your Hatchling a Friend + Pet Battle "Therapy" + Get both as Companion Pets + Day 1 of next Dragon Flight

General Notes:

The storyline is strictly split into daily portions that look the same for every single character whenever they'll get there. When the intended storyline quests for a day are completed, hidden quest will be flagged complete (until the Daily reset), to make the game realize that it has to hide the next ones (that is why you may see a "!" popping up and disappearing immediately).
Finishing Day 3 of the storyline will unlock some Dailies needed for Whelp, There It Is, the whelp-specific Hide & Seek and Dragonrace Dailies still require unlocking their whelps in the storyline.

Storyline Walkthrough (tried to leave out some details, but still full of spoilers):

When you set foot in the Dragon Isles in Patch 10.1.5 "Fractures in Time", Herald Flaps will appear and offer breadcrumb quest Eggs in Abundance.
Amella at the Ruby Lifeshrine encourages you to speak to the five whelptenders at the Ruby Life Pools for Whelptender's Wisdom and then meet Lasztak who was assigned to help at Little Scales Daycare so accept Daycare Director Agapanthus and return to Valdrakken.
Report in to Agapanthus to get several tasks:
Snack Run (you'll need 3 Gold to purchase 1x Wheel of Whelpwhisper Brie, 1x Bag of Spicy Pet Snacks, and 1x Box of Leapmaize Crackers)
A Nurturing Environment
(**You'll need to kill 6x Hungry Crawlers, but they are Level 70, so not fun for low-level characters)
A Lesson in Responsibility (you'll need to pick up 1x Decorative Shrubbery in Ohn'ahran Plains' Cascades Canyon and then 2 Gold to purchase 1x Stuffed Doll in Valdrakken and 1x Soothing Incense in Loamm)

Day 1

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Lasztak:
For The Obsidian Hatchling we'll return to the Ruby Lifeshrine to receive a Black Dragon Egg from Mother Elion, and hatch it (Hatch Egg Extra Action Button) close to the Obsidian Oathstone at the Obsidian Citadel in The Waking Shores.
For our first hatchling to be comfortable, we'll gather supplies in Loamm and around the Obsidian Citadel for Warmth and Comfort and then place them at the Little Scales Daycare to build a proper nest.
(**Unfortunately, you'll have to complete or skip (talk to Kalendormu) the Black Dragon campaign, because you need the recaptured Obsidian Citadel to see Archivist Edress for the Obsidian Gemstone)

Day 2

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Lasztak:
A Home-Cooked Meal needs 1x Roast Duck Delight. You only need to have them in your bags or bank to see the dialogue option, they are required for the turn-in and will be consumed when you do.
Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Agapanthus:
For Tag, You're Anxious we'll play Tag with the Obsidian Hatchling (directing her back to the nest can be a bit tricky with all the obstacles/corners)

Day 3

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Agapanthus:
What's a Duck? provides Rusziona's Whistle so we can go adventure with Obsidian Hatchling. Today we're checking how well she does with battle while practicing on some Bluebill Waddlers in Ohn'ahran Plains' Primordial Vale (make sure to summon her). But her reactions surprise Agapanthus, so we'll try a more relaxed approach and now start with basic training.

Day 4

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Agapanthus:
Agapanthus is worried because Rusziona is still so terrified of the world. We try to build her confidence by finding her a A Solid Pet companion. So we'll visit Lysindra in Valdrakken and pick up the Solid Earth Elemental, give it to Lasztak, and as one of the rewards learn how to summon Iggy.
(that was changed in Build 10.1.5.49719 and is a much better solution compared to giving players Iggy for several reasons).
With her pet doing wonders for her confidence, we think she's now ready to face her biggest fear. For Anatidaephobia we all buckle up and go The Waking Shores to meet Wurallie, an expert at using pets to heal trauma. When the therapy is done, we return to Valdrakken and being rewarded with 1Rusziona.

Day 4

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Lasztak:
For Lasztak's idea of a proper red dragon comfort food we gather some ingredients in Valdrakken (will cost 10 Gold) and at the Ruby Life Pools for a Warm Dragonfruit Pie. In a breathtaking moment, Lasztak will bake a Dragonfruit Pie that we're Feeding the Ruby Hatchling with.
For You're Playing Wrong! we're once again playing Tag, this time with the Ruby Hatchling. But her mindset to play isn't quite right, which is why she's having trouble making friends and it also doesn't work well when we try. Agapanthus is even saying she's "going to be quite the handful" but for today we're done.

Day 6

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Agapanthus:
Agapanthus needs a break from Belastrasza, so we take care of her list of tasks for I'm the Boss!. (this quest needs more work, it felt weird with a list of "something" popping up in the log without context to some of the tasks, i.E. Opening herbs in The Forbidden Reach to get some Sweet Snapflower Bulb).

Day 7

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Lasztak:
We'll try finding Bela a high maintenance companion for A Cavalier Pet to show here firsthand how she makes others feel. We'll return to Lysindra and she'll mark our map with the location of a Baby Vorquin. So we'll chase it down in Valdrakken's Ruby Enclave and bring it back to Lasztak to be rewarded with Princess Vorquistrasza.
Bela's lack of patience has been stumping Lasztak for quite some time and when he watched some turtles, he thought of one more lesson for Bela, so we are again visiting Wurallie in The Forbidden Reach for Patience, Please (make sure Iggy & Princess are alive when you start the pet battle, Wurallie can revive & heal them for 10 Silver). This will reward 1Belastrasza and bring us to the next flight.

Day 7

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Agapanthus:
For The Bronze Hatchling we'll return to the Ruby Lifeshrine to receive a Bronze Dragon Egg from Xius, and hatch it (Hatch Egg Extra Action Button) close to the Bronze Oathstone at the Temporal Conflux in Thaldraszus.
Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Lasztak:
We're getting used to it, after hatching the egg we'll have to prepare a nest for our Bronze Hatchling, so we'll gather supplies for Nothing Like a Sandy Nap (needs 10 Gold). (Be prepared to run into phasing issues with the Hourglass vendor when you didn't do the quest chain for Temporal Conflux. Please check the comments for this quest for a potential workaround.)

Day 8

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Agapanthus:
Business as usual, the day after hatching the egg and preparing its nest, we'll find a nice food for our hatchling. If we don't already have it in our bags/bank, we buy some Temporal Parmesan (3.75 Gold) for Artisanal Aging.
For Here? There? Everywhere! we're playing Tag with the Bronze Hatchling, because he wasn't moving around a lot so far and he won't either while we play lol.

Day 9

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Agapanthus:
Our Bronze Hatchling Zhusadormu seems to have many allergies. Unfortunatley the sneezing causes uncontrolled teleports, so we'll accept Sneezing Through Time and try to find out what Bronze Hatchling is allergic to.

Day 10

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Agapanthus:
While considering all of Zhusa's allergies, Agapanthus came to the conclusion that a pet with scales might work, a hypoallergenic hornswog in particular. And who's gonna help with that, of course Lysindra! But the little one is a bit ornery, so we'll capture some Bronze Skitterfly to try to coax it out and it works! So we quickly grab the Baby Hornswog and return to Lasztak and be rewarded with Annuna.
And Zuhsa immediately wants his new friend to fight a battle against a mean plant that makes him sneeze, so we'll return to Wurallie and help Annuna win the pet battle while Zhusadormu is trying his best to stay in place to watch it all for Temporal Immunity and then return to Valdrakken to get 1Zhusadormu as a companion.

Day 10

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Agapanthus:
For The Azure Hatchling we'll return to the Ruby Lifeshrine to receive a Blue Dragon Egg from Akxall, and hatch it (Hatch Egg Extra Action Button) close to the Azure Oathstone at the Azure Archives in the Azure Span.
We'll prepare the nest for our Azure Hatchling, so we'll gather supplies for A Scholar's Delight (needs 1x Awakened Frost and some stuff from Azure Span).

Day 11

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Agapanthus:
Blue dragons eat normal food, but the most important part of their diet is magical in nature. So we'll return to the Azure Span and try to gather some Bite-Sized Ley Crystals from Brackenhide Hollow (open world) for Crystal Nutrition.
For Well, Actually... we're playing Tag with the Azure Hatchling because our little bookworm needs to get up and moving.

Day 12

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Agapanthus:
He's already mentioning it while playing Tag and our whelp-tenders also realized... Azure Hatchling has terrible eyesight. So we'll better find him a perfect pair of glasses for New Lenses.

Day 13

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Agapanthus:
What could be a more perfect pet for Zalethgos than an enchanted book? Agapanthus heard that Lysindra acquired a similar book, so we'll head there to grab it for A Scholar's Pet but it has been returned to the library so she'll send us to the Azure Archives... Annex (in Valdrakken, phew) and return to Little Scales Daycare to be rewarded with Pallibrius.
Since getting his glasses, Zalethgos has been heavily relying on his eyesight. To remain flexible in case he loses them, for Sight Isn't Everything we'll go back to Wurallie and let him watch a blind bat fight in a pet battle against Pallibrius and then return to Valdrakken to get 1Zalethgos as a companion.

Day 13

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Lasztak:
For The Emerald Hatchling we'll return to the Ruby Lifeshrine to receive the Emerald Dragon Egg from Zahkrana, and hatch it (Hatch Egg Extra Action Button) close to the Emerald Oathstone at the Ancient Bough in Ohn'ahran Plains.
Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Agapanthus:
We'll prepare the nest for the Emerald Hatchling, so we'll gather supplies for Home Sweet Dirt (needs 1x Awakened Frost and some stuff from Azure Span).

Day 14

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Agapanthus:
Since green dragons love a leafy, crunchy snack, we'll go for a Hochenblume Harvest (you'll need Hochenblume in your bags or bank to see the "Are you hungry?" dialogue option, I guess they are now also required for the turn-in and will be consumed when you do.)
Agapanthus is worried, because our Emerald Hatchling isn't sleeping as much as most green whelps tend to do. So he asks us to play Tag with the Emerald Hatchling to maybe exhaust him enough to fall asleep for So... Tired....

Day 15

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Agapanthus:
There's a serious problem, Posidriss has insomnia! So we are asked to try anything we can think of to help Posidriss fall asleep for A Green Who Can't Sleep?.

Day 16

Valdrakken - Little Scales Daycare - Agapanthus:
Posidriss's sleeping problems prevent him from connecting to the Dream. Bears hibernate, they dream, and some of the cubs in the Dragon Isles are even connected to the Dream, so let's check if we can fetch one from Lysindra for A Sleepy Pet and be rewarded with Somnius when we return.
While Somnius is helping with Posy's severe insomnia, Agapanthus is worried that they are still behind other whelps when it comes to protecting the Dream. To practice fighting the Nightmare, for Hibernation we'll return to Wurallie because she found the perfect critter for that lesson. When we return, we'll get 1Posidriss as our last companion from the Whelp Daycare storyline and complete Hey Nanny Nanny.

What I wish I knew much MUCH sooner is that you can give yourself a free teleport back to the Little Scales Daycare as many times as you like.

I know a few quests have you travelling to and from the daycare quite frequently so much so the hearthstone is not off CD.
So for the free teleport back, simply:

Accept the Derby quest from Celetiros
Forfeit the race.
Travel to your quest location wherever that is and do what you need to do.
Then to get back to the daycare, open you quest log and Abandon the derby quest!
And pop you're back
