Hunting companion colors can drop at the end of Grand Hunts in Dragon Isles. The drop chance are not 100%.
To complete Grand Hunts you need at least Renown lvl 5 with Marruk Centaur.

Took over 100 hunts to gather these. They can drop from the farmable white satchels as well.

Edit: Forgot to mention that they are account wide. Looted the last one on another toon and got the ach.

Droprate for these items seems to be much higher in your first weekly hunt reward.
Since this achievement is account wide, you can use any of your lvl 60+ alts to get these items without having to spam 100 hunts.

This is also a great way to get Plainswalker Bearer mount.

Must be bugged. I have everything except Sepia colour for Ohuna. It's been months now and this one last customisation simply refuses to drop. At this point I've gone passed RNG.

Edit: Finally got it. This one thing took MONTHS to drop. IDK why it took so much longer when all the other customisations took only a few weeks to get in total.

Haven't been able to test this definitively but I wonder if you need to have the specific hunting companion out when you're doing the hunts to get that drop. I typically use the Bakar but finally had my Ohuna companion out and got one of its color drops. It might just be coincidence, though.

This achievement is kinda bugged as of 10.1.5. The progress doesn't display correctly, but if you meet the criteria, it should pop when relogging.

Before the patch, I was missing one. After the patch, it shows no progress at all. Getting the last one I needed didn't pop the achievement, and instead shows it as the only one collected.

Edit: Looks like it's hotfixed. Try relogging / waiting a while and it should pop upon logging in.

Spammed hunts at launch to get to renown 25. Been doing 3-6 every week after to get the last color for this achievement. It's Sept 3, 2023 and I still don't have Ohuna Companion Color: Brown. Got the other colors relatively quick with how much I was doing the hunts. Either really unlucky or relatively low drop rate for some colors.

I finally got my last one today after a year of not seeing it. I wonder with the addition of the expansion meta achievement, they finally fixed the drop rates?

Working on this for the 10.2.6 meta and started making class trials in order to farm the purple bag, after having farmed about 80 white bags this week. I haven't gotten the final color I need but I did get the mount so... do with that what you will.

Just to help those who are wondering if it is feasible to get the achievement for the meta achievement in time before the reward is taken away as it has been in past expansions - it categorically is NOT statistically probable you will get this achievement, or the meta. Blizzard needs to remove this, or change the drop rates and we all need to provide this feedback to blizzard.

Statistically, in the same period of working a full time job to get this achievement you are more likely to:
Win a small lottery prize
experience a significant earthquake
witness a meteor shower.

TLDR: Doing 15 Grand hunts everyday for 5 months, will net you this achievement statistically.

of course my maths may be wrong but you are going to need to put in some serious work and you immediately need to be farming grand hunts, upwards of 30-50 grand hunts a day. to get this in time, some many more if you aren't lucky.

Based on everyone's comments and anecdotal accounts and my personal experience of doing maybe 15-20 a day for the past 2 weeks (as this is one of the last achi's i need for the whole expansion) my maths below adds up to what you can expect.

I personally would be at maybe 300-400 hunts and the drop rate was just stupidly thought out, and noone thought to check if this meta achievement would be achieved, even by those playing consistently from day 1. It is the last achievement I need. Based on probability, everyone should just give up on the meta achievement.

The Weekly purple bag, has a drop rate of ~1.8% for each colour - 1 in 450 attempts
The Blue bag, has a drop rate of ~1.2% for each colour 1 in 750 attempts
The White bag, has a drop rate of ~0.4% for each colour. 1 in 1 in 2250 attempts.

Since there are 9 colours just doing the weekly purple Sachel it will take you approximately 450 weeks.. or 8.6 years.

If you want this achievement for the meta - DO NOT JUST DO THE WEEKLY HUNT

Considering a reasonable human maximum of doing 15 grand hunt attempts per day, we can calculate the number of weeks it would take to collect all colours:
Given:
• Once a week, you get 1 attempt at a 1.8% drop chance.
• Once a week, you get 1 attempt at a 1.4% drop chance.
• 104 times a week, you get a 0.4% chance per attempt.
Calculation:
1. For the 1.8% drop chance: Expected attempts per week = 1 * 1.8% = 0.018 chance per colour
2. For the 1.4% drop chance: Expected attempts per week = 1 * 1.4% = 0.014 chance per colour
3. For the 0.4% drop chance: Expected attempts per week = 104 * 0.4% = 0.416 chance per colour

Total expected chances per week = (0.018 + 0.014 + 0.416) attempts = 0.448 chances per colour

To collect all 9 items, With an expected 0.448 chance to a colour per week, Number of weeks = 9 items / (0.448 chances/week) ≈ 20.09 weeks

depending on when this meta achievement will no longer be available, you may just need to give up even if you have done every other achieve for the expansion.

Therefore, it would take approximately 21 weeks to collect all 9 items under the given conditions, doing 15 grand hunts a day and the purple and blue sachel – approximately 5 months of constant farming grand hunts in your play time and nothing else!

Its a good idea to pass this feedback to blizzard, the vast majority of players, even if this is their last achievement, and even if you have consistently done 2-3 grand hunters each week from launch (which is a healthy amount given other things to do tin the game) will likely not get the meta. Seriously disappointing.

I am completely fine with grinds usually, but this achievement requires a very dumb amount of grind for no particular reason. Been doing 150 hunts in around 4 days, I've yet to find any of the 2 colors I'm missing. I'll keep going at it, but I'm really hopeful they either fix the droprate of the colors, or remove this achievement completely as a requirement for "Centaur of Attention", if not for me or the others doing it currently, at least for people who will do it later on.

Is the unlock still bugged? Unlocked Bakar: Orange and it did show as complete. Tried relogging, no luck.

Based off the statistics from Nesquikk:

The Weekly purple bag, has a drop rate of ~1.8% for each colour - 1 in 450 attempts

The purple bags are you best bet to find these. The companion colours are account wide.

This means you should do a Grand Hunt on each alt once a week to give you the best chance of gaining all the colours.

Once you've done 5 hunts in a week on your main, doing the first hunt on an alt has 4.5 times greater chance to drop a colour!

I was missing orange despite doing well over 100 hunts. But it only took 4 alts doing a piurple hut (the weekly drop) to get my last colour. Obviously the rest of the achievements aren't account bound, so best to save this method to once you've completed those.

The final color I needed (Bakar: Black) just dropped for me from a blue pouch on an alt.

Been farming for the past two weeks, mainly getting the purple, blue, and green bags on all characters and doing one hunt on my main each day. The alt that got the drop was only renown level 2 with the Maruuk, I was partially concerned that the colors wouldn't drop for characters until Renown level 5 when hunts are technically unlocked.

I also made sure to talk to the NPC next to Scout Tomul on all alts to ensure they had a hunting companion active. I am not sure if this matters, but I was thinking the companion colors might not drop unless you had an active companion currently.

Good luck folks, that last color will drop eventually!

Can we just get a guaranteed color for completing 100 hunts or something? This is nuts. Way worse than scrolls/treasures/storms.

Is anyone going to acknowledge volatile state of the game with hunts and storms currently?

On multiple occasions I have done 3 or 4 tasks out of 6 and the hunt reset. It is already impossible to enjoy the game as you are forced to run hunts hours per day for that last item but having to actually put effort into hunt and then have it shard away for no particular reason is absolutely discouraging.

Fastest way to grind this achievement:

Note: This method requires that you have at least 1 character with max reputation with Maruuk Centaur

1. Create a Class Trial (auto boosted to 60)
2. Take the Capital City portal to Valdrakken
3. Open the Dragonriding menu and unlock all talents
4. Fly to nearest hunt and complete it (grants purple bag)
5. Log out, and repeat from step 1.

Using this method, it took me roughly 10-15 mins per Grand Hunt and I got 4 colours in ~ 2 hours

Do you have to have unlocked the companions via questing on alts to be able to get these to drop? I've tried farming on alts but many of my alts lvl'd via TWing so they haven't done any of the quests.

For the love of everything holy, make sure and use your alts if you are going to farm this thing, I did probably 50-60 hunts on my main the past couple of weeks, read that people were having some luck with alts to get the purple and blue bags as much as possible, so I did the same and it took me about 6-7 alts (60-70) and finally got one in a purple bag on a DK that I barely play otherwise! GL to all.

On any character with at least renown 5 with the Maruuk Centaur the first hunt of the week will grant an epic spoils of the hunt. Subsequent hunts will grant a rare spoils, followed by an uncommon, and then an infinite amount of common spoils. The easiest way to farm these will be to do 3 hunts per week on multiple alts. Using my main and 7 alts with the necessary renown I was able to get 2 - 3 colors per week and finally completed it today. All the colors I got to drop were from rare or epic spoils except for one that I got from an uncommon.

Is the drop rate very low and does this achievement have the potential to be very frustrating? yes. But try not to get caught in the doomer posts. If you have the alts to use then this achievement will be MUCH easier to obtain

This might have been patched today (S4 start) to improve the drop rates. After weeks of missing the last color, the very first hunt I did after the maintenance gave it to me.

Can't believe my bad luck here. Been over 400 hunts already and yesterday while me and some friend who are not doing the Meta and just goofing with some alts, we go for the first hunt beause they didn't know this week it drops 480+ loot...........2 of them get the achievement (and one of them had been doing it only the first one each week since he was bored).
