I'm pretty much cool with nearly all AH functions up to and including sniping. If someone sends me something that clearly wasn't meant for me, and if it's more valuable than a couple gold or so, i'll usually send it back just because I remember how bad it felt to make that mistake myself. Like that guy said in the quote you picked, it's not worth making a few extra gold by actively screwing over another player.
Aaaah, looting will be more fun now... Just hope other team mates will be fair play... -_-
The legacy loot rules change cannot come fast enough! I don't want to wait until BfA release for it...
Dunno but inscription is dead on my server. Nothing is worth making anymore.
I look forward to the new update to TSM, it looks sleek and easy to use.
About Goblin Ethics: I try to be a nice person in the game and if people are nice to me too they are awarded. So if someone makes a mistake with an auction and mail/whisper me about it: i will give the item back. I won't do that to persons who start yelling and screaming from the beginning.
Maybe they should activate the legacy loot system right now, given that people are running out of things to do and I for once am concentrating in tmog collecting.
Gold making through Class Order halls was mentioned some time ago, I am pretty active questing but don't have time for all the AH stuff to make gold and some of the mounts are pretty pricey, so I started to concentrate on the gold missions in my order halls, pretty soon I had enough gold to get the 500k mount from argus, so it worked well for meI already had about 300 bloods from just usual questing anyway so that sending alts Order Hall resources was easy.I don't see that this change will make much difference to me because most of my alts already have a lot of bloods just hanging around.I prefer to play, going for transmogs, mounts and toys so just accumulate the bloods.I find the articles interesting although I wont do most of what is recommended as I don't play to make gold, keep up the articles as I still enjoy them anyway.
Too bad the “legacy loot mode” won't be in until BfA. I guess no gold runs for me for a while. But at least they acknowledged the issue.
I'm so excited about TSM4, I really want to use it with my goblins! And the new tmog system it's really neccesary, I've been farming old raids with 0 results for 2 month for a single piece. Hope this will get out soon
I thnk we've had this "ethics" discussion before: I think everything on the AH is fair game, as long as the system allows for it. If someone makes a mistake posting or buying something: too bad. If they whisper me about it, it's another story and I'll probably return the item to them, but I've never actually been whispered. To be fair, I don't snipe that much since I just don't have the time for it and I prefer to just play the game.
I have participated in the Lunar Festival. Ive purchased several of each of the pets and patterns for resale on the AH. I think the changes to legacy loot rules are great. I only wish they could be implemented sooner than the next expansion. Right now running some old dungeons is almost pointless. The sooner the better IMO.
Hi Fellow GoldfarmersI love the inscription post, i have only recently started with inscription, so thanks to that post i now have a base to start my focus on for making some gold of inscription. The lunar festival post and video is interesting. I have been putting some focus on the world events and although the Lunar festival is indeed not as profitable as other events, i do have to say that it is fairly easy to gather the coins. The best items to get are the 3 unique recipes, but know that one character can only hold 1 unique recipe at a time (so you can have all 3 unique recipes on one character at the same time). So using my alts has been the answer to that one. They are pretty high priced and so far i have not sold any at top price. The more expensive pet for 50 coins is in my opinion a for sell on short and or long term.Goodluck all with gold farming, enjoy the game! I can only hope that a mount is coming my way :-)Kind regardsAnthony
just 2 weeks ago someone listed in auction house 9 stacks of 200 of Leystone Ore at 5 silver per piece buyout, I bought them all for a total of 90 gold, relisted and sold all that night for a total of 16,200 gold! no one ever asked for the ore back.
I got an invite for the TSM4 beta. The new style is requiring getting used to and in my opinion it needs some more ressources to work smoothy. But iam looking forward to it :)
Yes, I participated in the lunar festival, but I have some toys to buy, so I will not sell lamps this year. The system about the transmog drops is pretty cool, it looks more efficient than personal loot.
Have you participated in the Lunar Festival this year? What do you think about the proposed legacy loot rule changes? Every year I participate in events like lunar festival and midsummer, as it's easy to fly around on an alt to gain what is essentially free XP while collecting the marks which I then usually handin for whatever new pet/toy/mount is out that year for my own collection. I tend not to bother farming more of them for sale stuff, just 1 full sweep and whatever is leftover I'll use to buy stuff for sale. the Legacy loot changes can't come quick enough imho. the current system is intolerable and really gets my goat. I had intended to spend my week off (last week) on wow spamming old dg's all day, one at a time 'til I'd gotten all the tmog from it (then swap to an alt for the next armour class... repeat til done on all 4 armour types). started on my first one all eager... and got absolutely nothing from all 9 bosses... just immediately lost the will to bother again til it's fixed. I agree with everyone that they really need to implement this now, rather than in BFA prepatch (presumably... or later...), as it's end of xpac now. I had wanted to spend my last of legion getting all the mog I could from old dg's and raids and gather as much gold as I could from WQ's and OHM's ready for BFA. I can still do raid's of course, but would have been nice to get old dg's out of the way too (want to be playing new content when it's out after all...)Where do you draw the line? Do you snipe the Auction House? Have you ever sent something back or been asked to send something back, what did you do?buying low and selling high is pretty much the basics of 'playing the AH'. obviously it's case by case, but for the most part I have no issue buying items that are lower in price. I've never had someone /w me demanding their items back, nor have I done that to anyone (although have been tempted in the past to /w sellers when I've miss-clicked and accidentally bought an item for too much... but then shrugged and figured that that was my own bad and should take that punishment as a lesson to be more careful with my clicks). I did however once get a mail from another seller who I didn't even recognise the name of, having a right go at me for undercutting him all the time by 1c. I never replied, have no time for people being rude for no good reason. As for my 'line', I never intentionally screw anyone over. If anyone were to ask for an item or gold back etc, and did so politely (an honest mistake like), then sure, I'd have no problem (if they were rude about it though, they can jog on. no need for that!). If they were asking for Gold back on a mistaken purchase though, I would probably have to give 95% back of what they payed (ie, what I received, as the AH takes their 5% cut after all), which seems only fair to me. I shouldn't be made to lose more gold than I started with for their mistake after all, especially if it were a big big purchase :\
Life's too short to waste time hurting other people in a video game.100% agree. Back in Wrath, people would sell a single arrow for the price of a stack of... 200 was it? Just because the mechanics ALLOW you to be awful, is no excuse for doing so. Taking advantage of a mispost I think is ultimately okay - somebody is going to buy it regardless, why not you? But deliberately setting people up in order to deceive them is another kettle of fish. Don't be that guy.
