I don't know if this is just badly thought out or if Blizzard is just incapable of explaining things well or what?

Basically you get this as a choice when you first enter Torghast during the related event. If you choose this you get the ability to transform yourself using the spell Chorus of Dead Souls. Notice this spell says you'll get 50% increased damage and healing, I sure didn't see that. Half the time I had to change to my normal form to be able to kill stuff and it didn't seem like I was healing at all.

Once you transform it will give you 4 spells Wailing Blast, Scream of Pain, Phase Shift and Twisting Shadows It will also give you the spell Return to Existence which allows you to return to your normal form.

So at least at the beginning your abilities are pretty terrible. You get one solo attack spell with a big CD (that also interrupts though it doesn't say that) and an AOE spell that casts while you're moving. So basically you end up spamming Scream of Pain and Twisting Shadows. Really weak...

Course there are anima powers that you get which make things more powerful but good luck until then. I found myself switching back and forth trying to kill stuff since the Deadsoul guy was so weak (and boring as hell I might add).

The way this works as far as Anima Powers is it will give you power choices based on whatever form you are in. So if you're normal it will be for that class but if you're in the Deadsoul form it will be for that. The vendors will have for both.

I really get the impression that this is meant to be used when you're in a group, maybe it's useful (or fun) then. I was solo and I gave up on this and exited Torghast when I got to a point where I was given 3 Anima Power choices and they all seemed group related.

I mean seriously, c'mon Blizzard, if you need to be in a group to benefit from this say so! If a group doesn't help then this just sucks.

Edit: Forgot to mention this was from a Layer 7 normal Torghast run.

I found this both OP and fun! What I want to know is how can I use it again? As for the group thing, tell me how to run Torghast as a group, it is a single instance dungeon for me. What am I missing?

As a hunter (or other class with a pet), it is good to know that only you become part of the Chorus of Dead Souls. Your pet(s) stay by your side and fight alongside you as well. Your can't really command them directly, but the extra damage and taunts still work.
