Seemingly this ability is only cast when the Spriggan Mendbender is in combat with only two or fewer players. This is why you will sometimes get disoriented during big Ardenweald pulls gone awry. If three other party members have already died, this spell may be cast on you by one or more Spriggan Mendbenders. I have not tested the following theory, however, it may also be able to be cast on your group's healer during the process of gathering a large pack of enemies, if the only two people in combat with the Spriggan Mendbenders are the tank (while gathering a large pack) and the healer (aggro from heals on the tank).
