meh unless you get this sword at lvl 20 it's pretty worthless. Too many places to travel to. I'd rather just lvl and buy a green sword with better stats.

This doesn't seem that much better than the 2H sword you can just buy with the right rep from Tranquillen. 1 DPS or so more, lower top-end by far. Pretty disappointing weapon I think... Verigan's Fist on the Alliance side is just incredible for the level.

This polearm needs itself a serious buff imo. Comparitively,

Allthough the stats on our polarm are better for a ret paladin then that of Verigan's Fist, which is what the majority of people would spec to level, there is a 6.9 DPS difference between the Horde and Alliance version, mind you that they both require the same questline. At level 20, that seemingly small difference is in reality a huge amount.

Playing both an Alliance and Horde paladin, the Alliance's mace is amazing for its level, with above average crits for a mid 20 character. This one is really only SLIGHTLY better then the Sin'dorei Warblade from Ghostlands.

The stats are fine, at most this could at least use a small DPS boost, especially considering we have to pay up a gold to learn the polearm skill, and alliance paladins start with a 2h mace skill, not to mention that we are doing the same amount of work for a worse item.

I totally agree with Knoxpwns..

However, from a game lore point of view, the Blood Elves are stealing their Paladin powers from a kidnapped Naaru. The Alliance have been Paladins for alot longer, and in all fairness, the Blood Elves are new to the whole Paladin thing.
We all remember a time when there was no such thing as a Horde Paladin...

the part in black fathom deeps drop off naga's not any special bosses so remember to loot. The SFK part leads u to a guy in a cell. when u ask him more about the item he turns into a werewolf so if u wanna avoid that. i can tell you that the item is in the stable in the yard.

I've had both alliance and horde pallies, and I am disappointed at this. Verigan's fist lasts so long for the alliance pallies, this thing is a POS compared to it. Like in the post above, not much better than Sin'dorei. I wont go out of my way to do this quest.

This isn't as good as the alliance version because the alliance version is harder to get. Doing Deatholme and RFC is a lot easier than VC and the ogre camp in loch modan. Horde also have a much easier time getting to SFK; ally pallies have to find a group willing to run all the way from Ironforge to Silverpine.

lvl 10 - wingblade 15.4 dps
lvl 15 - sindorei warblade i forget the dps
21 - outlaw sabre

22 - warsong supplies armor

i agree they need to buff this weapon.. the stats are okay but the dmg is garbage. I got a 2h axe from SFK that serves me better. I just got cause it looked cool. But that pretty much all its good for at this level.

1g isn't even that big of a deal around the level that you have to be to either solo or group this quest. That being said, I mostly use this when I'm not feeling like using my Arced Waraxe that dropped, invalidating my Warblade. I want that Strike of the Hydra but I can't solo that instance yet.

Personally I like the polearm myself for its look more than what it can do. Of course if we have to compare it's abilities to the alliance version think about the how Verigans receives no strength bonus and it is slower. The polearm allows for interruption of casters more often and being a blood elf you even have a racial ability that does that as well so I think they are compareable enough.

Yeah the dps could be a little more but it's still a good weapon compared to all of those that have been listed and once again I have to go back to my point of it is faster than the others. I have used all those items with the exception of the hydra and haven't really seen any difference in killing speed with any of them.

Really, it just seems pointless for the effort you put in. As Psylissa wrote it, there are far better weapons from the dungeons you have to go through to have this made, and your expected to do 4 of them?

What blizzard should have done was to give this weapon, And a blood knight tabard as a reward. At least then a paladin have reason to do it any level.

Looks like this weapon has gotten a fairly substantial buff in terms of its weapon speed and its stat assignment.

i did the quest for the xp mainly. the wep was completely pointless. i got a guidlie to run me thru SFK and as a prot pally got the Commanders Crest shield and the Butchers Slicers sword. give better strength and stam and look cooler too and since in had the BoA shoulders and Chest armour which was Polished Breastplate of Valor and Strengthened Stockade Pauldrons got the xp and dinged!

I actually saved this pole arm from the old blood knight quest line. Before transmog or anything I'm so happy I did, now I can use this even when I have 2h sword equipped :). Patience paid off.

According to recent Blue posts and Wowhead news: "Items rewarded from every quest you have ever completed" will be restored to you. Blizzard also mentioned specifically bringing back Class Specific items (quote needed), such as the Blood-Tempered Ranseur.

But how they intend to do this has not been made clear. Will the Ranseur be available only to those who completed the original questline before Cataclysm; or will Blood Elf Paladins who came to the game after Cataclysm be able to earn it? Will it only be available to Blood Elf Paladins, or can any Paladin transmog to it? If there is a new one, will it have the same name, or just the same appearance? We'll have to wait and find out.

All I can say is that this is my favorite polearm in the game, and possibly my favorite weapon, period. I accidentally disenchanted mine one day in Cataclysm before we had the Item Restore system, and I've tried several times without success to get it restored to me. It would be very awesome to have this baby once again!
