Alliance Quests for Wailing Caverns

Since many people are trying out these low-level dungeons since the new dungeon tool appeared, perhaps for the first time, I thought it might be nice to make a summary of quests for WC for Alliance characters. Note that, for the Alliance, there isn't a quest for killing any of the bosses, although there is a quest triggered by a drop from the final boss.

Also note that since the mobs in the entry area (outside of the actual instance) are not elite, three of the four quests can be completed without actually grouping or entering the instance, as long as you're a high enough level to handle these non-elite mobs. On the other hand, since many people will be zoning directly in to the instance using the new tool, it's important to note that three of the four can be completed in the instance itself.

Deviate Eradication - This is the only quest that actually requires entering the instance. The questgiver is located in the little cave above the entrance to Wailing Caverns. Follow the quest link for instructions on how to get into that cave. There are no pre-requisites to getting this quest.
Deviate Hides - Also obtained from the cave outside WC. This quest can be completed either inside or outside the instance. Again, there is no pre-requisite for this quest.
Smart Drinks - Obtained in Ratchet. There is a pre-requisite quest, Raptor Horns, given by the same questgiver, and which can be completed fairly quickly without leaving The Barrens. This quest (Smart Drinks) also can be completed either inside or outside the instance.
Trouble at the Docks - This quest is obtained in Ratchet. The target NPC is in the entry area for WC and thus outside the instance itself, meaning that while this quest can be completed without entering the instance, it's the only one of these four that cannot be completed if you zone in using the new dungeon tool.

In addition to these, there is one other quest that can be picked up within the instance. The Glowing Shard is picked up by a drop from the final boss of WC, Mutanus the Devourer. This eventually leads to another quest which finishes (for Alliance characters) in Darnassus.

A funny thing is that when you complete the quest, Mebok says:
-Now let's try it... Ugh! That's terrible!
And THEN he drinks the brew :)

Now a completely new quest in Cataclysm. Search for King Reaperclaw a named raptor in the new zone called Northern Barrens just to the NW of Ratchet(loc 65,62). he is accompanied by two guards and patrolls around the area. The patrol area doesn't seem too large.

Just kill him and loot the item "King Reaperclaw's Horn" to complete the quest.

Not sure what these other guys are talking about. You only need the horn from King Reaperclaw who is a larger blue raptor. you can find him around 65.1, 61.6. He travels with 2 smaller raptors.

This guy is pat around the south end of the strip of land above the cliffs, 3 times I've found him roughly parallel to the cave opening shown on the main map65.61 or thereabouts.

For undergeared rogues: you can sap the consorts and finish them off before attacking the big guy, however the window before they respawn is pretty small so you gotta be fast. They also always respawn together no matter if you killed them off one after the other.

I'm not 100% sure about this but I think you have to get out of stealth mode for them to appear. Was walking around with my rogue in stealth for several minutes and found nothing. Left stealth mode and they immediately appeared.

Acquire King Reaperclaw's Horn.

Description

The raptors of the Barrens are smarter than raptors in other lands. I think all those smarts are hiding in their horns! If so, then I could grind their horns into powder and use it to make "smart drinks." I'll make a fortune!

Here's where you come in: I want the horn from the smartest raptor around. "King Reaperclaw" leads a whole pack of intelligent raptors up on the bluffs north of Ratchet. Bring me his horn! And don't get ripped to ribbons like everyone else I've sent!
