If you are wondering why Margrave Gharmal is unattackable it is because you will need to clear out the two mobs that spawn individually (kill one then the other spawns). Once you kill both then the cinematic will play defeating Margrave Gharmal and leading to the follow-up quest Take Heart.

If you are experiencing issues because the cinematic didn't display (sometimes addons auto-cancel cinematics) and can't do anything you will need to log out and back in order for the quest to register as complete and be able to turn in.

While trying to do this quest, after killing the second NPC sent for you to kill, I was unable to do anything. Couldn't move, and I was apparently pacified, though with no visible debuff causing this. I tried a /reload to fix it, which didn't help, but logging out and back in again set the quest as ready to be turned in, and I was able to move around as normal.

I continually get oneshotted by the add. He has no buff and I have tried and tried. Anyone know why or can provide some advice? This is holding me back.

I had to do it twice, abandoning the first time. Neither of the two mobs would pay attention to me, I walked all over with them beating them down. After they both died, the cutscene wouldn't start. I relogged, then reloaded. Finally abandonded the quest, recompleted it... and it worked.

-another quest almost impossible as a non self-heal class, but prob a breeze on my lock or shammy.
It wont let others help either says they out of phase, even when i abandoned the quest.
PS. did it on prot warrior just took forever

Did this this morning post patch and it seems something might have been fixed - or I got really lucky. I'm undergeared but seemed to be fighting with a horde who was "out of phase" at the same time as me. When each mob spawned the name would turn grey (as though a horde were attacking) and it would wander off to fight some invisible player.

That being said, the other player did most of the work for me and ultimately when each mob died it still counted. The cutscene triggered after the second mob and I was able to complete the quest as expected, despite both mobs being grey for the entirety of each fight.

something interesting on this quest is that the second mob (a hunter like) was always destroying my totems..never seen that before. Shamans be carefull!

I just completed this bugged quest with my rogue, what a pain. Alexandros NPC that was supposed to tank this battle phases out when entering the area where you do the body parts world quest. I have found if you kite the first mob up the stairs, not sure if it is a particular set of stairs or not, but in any case an invisible helper starts to take the agro away from you. The first of the two NPCs is obviously the easiest of the two you have to kill, you should be able to kill that first NPC rather easily once the argo is taken away. The second NPC can be a little more of a pain, but I found if you kite that toward and up the stairs behind Margrave Gharmal again some invisible NPC takes the agro away and the NPC starts sending its attacks toward Margrave Gharmal back toward the invisible NPC in front. This second NPC is trickier though as if you get too close you will regain the agro, so in my case I kept my distance and threw poisoned knifes at the second NPC you have to kill until I had it's hit points down to a level I could manage and was able to heal with my crimson vial a few times. Best I could do otherwise was just down to about an eigth of the NPC's health before dying as the add on was just a little too much for me. Hopefully this helps someone, at least until the bug is fixed.

More proof that all this current crop of crap designers don't even play this game. It's damn impossible to do this quest based on your gear and spec. There are two adds you have to kill, both have 117k hp. One is a melee, the other is a range that spawns an add. I was able to kill the melee by running away a lot on my subtle rogue, but couldn't do the same with the range + add. To top it off it reset if I Vanished. I finally just barely killed it as I died.

Bug has been fixed. Alexandros followed me all the way to help kill Margrave. Went down easy.
