After taking the quest, go up one more flight to the top floor. There are two flying books to kill, one purple highlighted book in one of the book shelves and, of curse, The Archivist. Ta'eran helps with the fight.

I was able to collect the quest item before engaging The Archivist, but he saw me as I picked it up and started fighting right away.

The next quest, Trust Fall, has you jumping out of the tower, you start to fall, but are instantly ported to the ground. I was kicked off line just as I landed, but I don't think that has anything to do with the quest, but rather a beta issue. When I came back online, I was in the Sepulcher of Knowledge with Ta'eran and Volumes of Victory: Vol 1.

The Archival Protection storyline is a breath of fresh air in Maldraxxus.
In the first 4 quests, adventurers lay the groundwork to enter the Sepulcher of Knowledge. This is a repository of books on military strategy. The last 4 quests are fun and a throwback to Legion quests in the Nar'thalas Academy in Azsuna. Once inside, chase the books. Ta'eran is your quest giver.

6.	Archival Protection	Kill The Archivist. You'll also need to kill the adds, the 2 Tome of War. Sometimes there are other players in the tower that can help.
7.	Trust Fall	Just jump. Auto slow-fall will be cast on you.
8.	A Complete Set	More books required. But The Archivist is gone.

Archival Protection Storyline
Quest	Comments
1.	Read Between the Lines	Listen to quest giver Ta'eran.
2.	Repeat After Me	Honor physical rune stones. Do an emote in chat (like /kneel) suggested by the message on each stone. This invokes a hostile shade. There is a stone for each of the Maldraxxus Houses. Stone locations are shown on the mini-map as white circles. The order does NOT matter, despite quest instructions.
3.	Kill Them, Of Course	Slay 8 Enraged Gluttons. Most Enraged Gluttons have low health. Wait for those to spawn and check the mini map for the borders of the quest area.
4.	Slaylines	The quest name is a reference to the leyline quests in Aszuna. But this isn't Power Grid which involved the complicated routing of high and low power ley lines around corners. Start by clicking on the ornate power crystals: East Power Crystal and West Power Crystal. Then activate the regular green crystals. The East and West Power Crystal will activate 2 of these. The idea is to direct 2 power lines back to the 2 power obelisks. If power isn’t running where you want it to go, click on the East and West power crystals to redirect current. Repeat clicking may change the direction of the current. See if clicking on regular green crystals improves the directional flow. This is just trial and error.
5.	Secrets Among the Shelves	Collect multiple editions of 8 books. There are books on 3 levels. You can start on the second level. There are minor hazards on the stairs, balls and laser beams. They do little damage and are easy to avoid. Beware The Archivist on the top floor. It's protected by 2 flying book mobs Tome of War. Don't fight the Tomes, click on any books, and go downstairs. You won't get credit for killing The Archivist until you collect all books and Ta'eran gives you the quest Archival Protection.

Hi all

I present Archival Protection Storyline part of Sojourner of Maldraxxus in Maldraxxus.

As well when you finish quest 4 you can enter "Library" on last floor you can find The Necronom-i-nom this is part of Treasures of Maldraxxus.

Quest Name:	Start and description
1 Read Between the Lines	Story line start from Ta'eran 40 33 in Maldraxxus. Follow Ta'eran to the Sepulcher of Knowledge and hear his proposal.
2 Repeat After Me	"Read the rune stones of the five houses, then honor them by performing the correct /emote at each stone. After honor them will come mobs to kill as well use to correct Stone/emote: - Echo of the Magus inside cave 41 28 /kneel - Echo of the Chemist 40 31 /bleed - Echo of the Hero in cave 43 34 /salute - Echo of the Crafter 47 35 /flex - Echo of the Spy in cave 45 28 /sneak
3 Kill Them, Of Course	Kill 8 Enraged Glutton.
4 Slaylines	First go activate 2 Power Crystal one on 45 29 and 42 31 ( make sure that energy line is going to obelisk if not move Activated Necrocrystal ) When energy will get to Obelisk acivate them both ).
5 Secrets Among the Shelves	"You need to collect 15 books: Books by floor: - Ground floor - 5 books - 1st Corridor - 2 books - 1st floor - 6 Books - 2nd Corridor - 1 book - 2nd floor - 5 books You finish quest befor 3rd floor just wait for NPC."
6 Archival Protection	Slay The Archivist He is on last 3rd floor
7 Trust Fall	Jump off the balcony on the 3rd floor That will teleport You to other room. Then Pick Up Volume of Victory: Vol 1.
8 A Complete Set	Firs find 5 Volume of Victory then 72 books ( just pick them all like clean room from books xD. That finish story line :D

I've done this quest line twice. Both times I go to the top of the tower, kill everything, and then find out the quest giver wants me to kill the Archivist again. I think the timing is a little off somewhere. Thankfully it's an easy fight.

Also be sure not to miss the toy on the bookshelf while you're up there.

Description

Completely uninterested in striking a fair bargain! Its utter lack of business acumen is really quite upsetting. Ah, well. I fear we have no choice but to dispatch this impediment. Shall we?
