Make sure to do this quest in the background with the other quests in the area. Otherwise, it indeed takes ages to complete.

The cocoons give 2% each, most mobs you'll find will give 1%.

Quest giver was not where the addon "Zygor" claimed it to be. I later found it at /way 39.00,29.94 after turning in Silk Shortage which I got somewhere else, perhaps Heart of the Forest in the center.

According to Wowhead this quest only gives 25g. The XP is useless since it requires level 60. Is there any point to doing this that I'm missing?

If this wasn't part of getting achievements, I would never continue. Only 1% per mob killed, I had to kill everything in the area at least twice to complete, just ridiculous. If you don't like achievements, skip this!

Is it just me or......is this quest taking for-f@*king ever to complete? 25 mins and counting now non-stop killing things....

Tip: In the middle of the ravine is a broken harp, which starts its own quest chain. Make straight for that, then kill a few mobs to get the pieces. That leads to followup quests, which as you do them you should get enough credit for the original quest. Prioritize Witch Doctors and Horrors for your main percentage gains, along with any trapped care takers. Break cocoons here and there for an easy 1% each, and ignore most of the other mobs.

1 Silk Shortage	Storyline start from Aithlyn 48 50 Ardenweald. You need to go to see Caretaker Lillythistle 38 29 inside of a fallen tree.
2 Tough as Silk	Kill mobs until 100%. You can do this quest together with The Shattered Harp. Quest return to Caretaker Lillythistle 38 29 inside of a fallen tree.
3 The Shattered Harp	Quest pick up from Broken Harp 38 28. Loot from mobs 3 Harp Piece. Is 30% drop rate. Quest return to Artisan Rees 37 29.
4 A Song for Silkstriders	"Quest start from Artisan Rees 37 29. Use Silkstrider Harp next to Maribel then appears Raw Silkstrider Silk You need 4 of them. Maribel location: 1. 37 27 2. 38 26 3. 34 28 4. 36 28 Quest return to quest giver."
5 Save Ol' Gertie	Slay Noisul of Many Faces 36 26. Quest return to Gertie Jr. 37 25
6 Thread of Hope	Deliver Gertie Jr. to Caretaker Lillythistle 38 29 inside of a fallen tree.

I hate Ardenweald even more after doing this quest.

Holy smokes, is this one a tedious, annoying grind. Not many of the silkstriders to save. Mobs give 1% each, and they are everywhere -- you can't take 10 steps without being attacked by several of them, and their aggro range is fairly absurd. This one almost made me want to cry in frustration.

Description

We are the heart of silk production in Ardenweald, but we can't do our work! Our grove has been completely taken over by spriggans and these strange shapeshifting... things. The silkstriders who spin the silk are very delicate creatures. They need peace and calm, and a little music to keep them happy! But with all these monsters all over the place, they're super stressed out. Please, can you get in there and eliminate these hooligans, and see if you can help get us up and running again?
