So, a little odd, when you activate him, you need to go around the mountain to the right. He will follow you all the way there, if you mount up, he won't stop and you won't need to reactivate him. Until you get him to his base, then you reactivate him and complete the quest. I tried going around to the left and he de-spawned every time just a few feet away from where I found him.

He also helps fight, not sure how much good he does, but after the fight, you'll have to reactivate him as well.

To complete this quest you need to find Gatamatos in the Golden Pasture.
Gatamatos can be found at 55.09 43.70 coordinates.
Click to it to activate and lead it back to the quest giver. Reactivate if it becomes inactive again.

What happens if he runs away and you can't find him, and then you abandon the quest? Where can you pick up the quest again?

This quest is currently bugged. If you try to go around the north side of the mountain and around, he just runs away and de-spawns into the ether. I've replicated this 5 times after abandoning and re-attempting the quest. The only way to complete is to go on the SOUTH side of the mountain and around...

If there's a World Quest in the area, you might have to complete it before being able to accept this quest. :)

If you can't find the NPC to accept the start quest it's on /way 54.8 41.1 NPC Pelodis.

He despawned for me when I just tried running the shortest distance.
So I decided to follow the road, and that worked without any problem. I was mounted.

Had to re-activate him once at the top of the hill.

If he despawns you can find him again at the same spot, no need to drop the quest.

When I came back to Forgefire Outpost I had to reactivate him.... but I couldn´t click on him. I relogged and then he bacame my guardian again and I could turn him in.

Quest Name:	Start and description
1 Success Without Soul	Quest take from Koros in The Eternal Hall Bastion 43 41. You need to fly to Pelodis 54 41
2 Phalynx Malfunction	You need to find Gatamatos He is located on 54 43 and return him to 55 41. You can do this quest together with Resource Drain.
3 Resource Drain	Use Anima Drainer on 5 Gilded Cloudstrider. Do it before fight.
4 We Can Rebuild Him	"First press on Gatamatos 55 41 then go to 54 40. To rebuild you will need: - 3 Forgefire Engineer - 1 Anima Barrel - 5 Reinforced Armor All you can find next to forge. Then you need do 5 Reinforced Armor by pressing on them. then speak with Pelodis"
5 Combat Drills	First press on Gatamatos 55 41 then go to Hall of Beasts 55 42 enterence. Then kill 8 mobs inside. Do this quest together with Laser Location and Superior Programming
6 Laser Location	First press on Gatamatos 55 41 then go to Hall of Beasts 55 42 enterence. Then use spell on Extra Bar when close to gem ( small on ground inside cave ) Gatamatos will get Training Gem you need 6 of them.
7 Superior Programming	Go to Hall of Beasts 55 42 enterence and slay Leonid after enter on left side.
8 Tactical Formation	In main was 1 mid 2 mid 3 back one. then put Gatamatos back to his place.
9 Antiquated Methodology	Go to Nemea 57 39
10 Part of the Pride	Press on 5 Tamed Larion they are around.
11 All Natural Chews	Get 5 Cloudstrider Antler by killing Gilded Cloudstrider. This quest You can do together with Larion at Large
12 Larion at Large	Find Andira and follow Her until able to press on is after return to Nemea 57 39.
13 With Lance and Larion	Slay 5 Cloudfeather Greatwing but Before attack use on them Nemea's Javelin. You can do this quest together with Providing for the Pack.
14 Providing for the Pack	Get 10 Cloudfeather Essence is drop from Juvenile Cloudfeather.
15 On Larion Wings	Jump on Andira and fly thru 10 blue circles.
16 Pride or Unit	Go to 55 39 and pick between Pelodis or Nemea Storyline is finish but After that You can Fly to The Eternal Hall Bastion 43 41 and get new adwenturer ( is depend what did You pick ).

Every so often while doing this quest the Malfunctioning Phalynx stops and "malfunctions", but during one of his malfunctions he was just clipping and glitching across the bottom of the terrain. I thought it WAS the malfunction at first, but then realized that I couldn't get him to move anymore, and he was just stuck in the mode with the electrical crackling going all around. I think that either a player running by with mobs on them or a mob under the terrain that he aggro'ed onto is what bugged him out, but nothing I did would get him to budge. I finally had to leave the little questing area to get him to despawn, and when I went back I had to start over again by picking him back up at 54.8, 43.6.

Even my malfunctions have malfunctions :(

Gatamoron malfunctions, pulling every mob in the vicinity

So, yeah. Might wanna decimate the local wildlife before you activate the stupid robot. These gilded cloudstriders are usally freindly, but our robo-cat friend here thinks they need to die. Unfortunately, they have swarm mentality, you you end up figtung everything in the area. For me, that was around 20 of them.

After running back up the hill, if you're standing at the golden Gatamatos getting the message: "Gatamatos is malfunctioning! Reactivate him", don't try to click that golden one, go back and get the one you were escorting

Phalynx Malfunction Quest seems to be bugged for me. Neither Koros or Pelodis has a quest for me. All I need is the Pride or Unit to complete the Loremaster. Anyone else had this problem?

Anyone have problem on this quest? After running back to the golden position, Gatamatos keeps following.

Follow up (07/13/2021):
Summited ticket after found this bug. The quest can be completed after tried the next day after maintenance.

As part of their training, I order my phalynx units to march the fields, keeping an eye on the wildlife and any goings-on. Unfortunately, last time they returned they were one fewer in number. Please search the Golden Pasture and search for the missing unit, then return it here.
