When I did the quest, Blastatron X-81 bugged out to "Unknown", so I had '0/1 slain' as my objective.

Quest was bugged for hunter. None of my pets abilities would work and without Growl the boss clobbered me. Ended up using Misdirect to get it complete.

In case this happens to anyone else:

This quest seems to have bugged out for me (I think because I took the quest then logged out before making any progress) and the teleporter wasn't working by the next time I logged in.

So I abandoned the quest to retake it again thinking that may reset the issue. Then on the mini map/map I see the quest "Ascension" available, but in-game there is no quest giver.

I closed WoW and re-opened it, and that seems to have fixed the issue. I was able to take the quest again, and teleporter worked.

The mobs inside the City presumably now scale as they were 60-61 for me.

In the instance, go right.
Mobs and boss do scale, to 1+ your level, and pet taunts do not work on the boss, but I was able to do it with no issues.
Also, the boss does respawn rather quickly so get moving after the kill.

I tried this on a 52 prot warrior. couldn't kill it at all. What I ended up doing to beat it was to use a single attack to draw aggro and get the NPC attacking it. Then I kited it around until the NPC got aggro (I was down to 32% HP) then I just sat outside the range of his main ability for like 10+ minutes while the NPC beat it down. Took forever but its done.

If you can't solo him, just trigger the npc's helping you by using a low damage/threat ability.
Once they take over aggro, go into a corner to avoid the aoe damage. Let the npc finish him off.
This took some time, I think like 5 minutes + for the npc's to defeat him.

As a lvl 66 demon warlock, I found the hunter advice very helpful. More specific to warlocks though - I started without a main pet, and used curse of weakness to tag the mob. Then I ran around the edge to the stairs on the other side and stood 1 or 2 steps up. This kept me clear of the AOE. I continued to refresh the curse of weakness and after he got to 70% began to use corruption as well, with a break in between each one for good measure. My secondary imp was firing at him but the NPCs held aggro and I won without waiting horribly long.

As of July 30, 2023. Level 59 priest at the time of this fight, and went shadow.

Thank goodness for all the other comments here to explain that your part to play in this fight is basically to initialize it because I just couldn't survive.

As a shadow priest, I initialized the fight from the door, using my shadowfiend to go in first. Then as the NPC started wailing on him, I ran up the stairs and around the wall, totally out of line of sight from everything and Mind Visioned the whole fight from Kelsey's perspective, who could not die, and remained at 1 / 45018 for most of the fight, unable to be taken down. The NPCs cannot die. So yes, initialize and just sit back, go make lunch, and come back after 12 minutes and complete the quest.

And yes, it does in fact take 12 minutes for the NPCs to do all the work. I timed it from my stream.
