Just kill the random mechs around the area to get the items to drop. Awards 200 rep. Killing elites/normals near the junkwatt depot is a good way to knock out both this and collect parts for the daily Bundle of Recyclable Parts

Thats a WARMODE ON quest if you get it on warmode off , you must switch to Warmode enable and go to junkwattt depots . took me 10 minutes to complete.

Collect 150 Unfinished Prototypes in Mechagon, while in War Mode.

I feel quite the fool after running around killing things for almost an hour (I was also completing other quests and killing rares, so it's not quite as bad as it looks... ish) and decided to go look it up since I had read the quest text several times at that point, trying to figure out what I was missing. I saw a comment here from ForgerRetre that says this is a WM required quest, and I quickly downvoted it since, clearly, if Blizzard had intended this to be a quest which required War Mode be turned on, they'd have stated that very clearly in the quest text... which, to reiterate, I had read several times.

Then, about ten minutes later, after killing a couple more rares, I revisited the quest and lo and behold... Blizzard had apparently hot-fixed the quest text! It now reflects that War Mode is, indeed, required for collection of the parts needed for completion! The cheeky wankers!

I am, of course, being sarcastic in an attempt to soften the blow to my ego, here...

In summation: Don't be like me. Don't go around trying for over an hour trying to collect quest items you physically can't collect based on your current in-game settings. Read your quest texts, friends, and save yourself some time and embarrassment...

UPDATE: Yes, the quest is fairly quickly and easily finished once War Mode is turned on. I did go back and not only remove the downvote on ForgerRetre's comment, but upvoted it as well, since it was the only reason I didn't spend another hour or more trying to get it done... I wish I could upvote it more, lol. Thank you for pointing this out to us ignorant folk, Forger <3

just make WM on and go search for chests or kill mobs in deepwatt depot chests gives u about 20-30 and mobs gives u 1-10

How complete Prototypes for Profit:

1. go around The Heaps /way 72,20, 42,94

2. kill any mechanical mobs or rare mobs for drop 150x Prototype Implant (killing rare mobs is more faster to get)

My two Alliance characters have consistently been offered 100 additional Spare Parts along with the S.P.A.R.E. Crate reward and my Horde character has not for some reason despite having the same reputation level.

You get a lot of them in chests too. Averaged about 15-20 in every chest I opened.
