Doesn't seem to be consistent on which "things" give credit. Some rares do and some don't. Same with other creatures.

seems bugged. I'm stuck at 8%, no matter what i scan, been running around the whole island and nada.

If you can't see Jepetto Joybuzz to turn in this daily, then it is likely that he has already rotated out for the day. These dailies are only available for a day so you've gotta turn in the quest before he goes away. Or you can just hang onto it until he rotates back in again.

The troggs (not their mounts) at Scrapbone Den all seem to give 5-8% credit without fail. Since there are a lot of them there, it's a very easy place to farm!

One suggestion is to stand still, even after the cast is complete. I noticed if you move after the cast bar stops you won't get credit sometimes. You have to sit still for an extra second after the cast completes, then you should see the % increase.

Just scanned a Motoegg Tender, Rampaging Scrapbot, and Motospider. Weird that they're considered a "creatures".

The Upgraded Sentry in the Fleeting Forest will sometimes give you 8% but not 100% for me.

Just a clarification, you need to use the quest item on each mob when it is still alive (target one mob and click on the item, then go to the next). It will attack you but if you have a pet to taunt it or you can heal yourself, you don't even have to kill it. I killed none, just had my pet taunting them + feign death whenever I could.

If you scan a target that is anywhere near others (even yellow mobs), there is a chance you will flush a group, including some mobs that wouldn't normally be aggroed (like yellow mobs) by your "attacking" an outlier. Unfortunately you only get credit for the one you scan, so focus on solo mobs. Once I managed to flush about five before getting tired of that and stuck with solos afterwards.

Need use Quasi-Faceted Scanner in any mechanical mobs on the quest zone (dont need kill).

Progress per mob:

Rampaging Scrapbot = 8%
Motoegg Tender = 8%
Motospider = 5%

Had plans to do this on all my alts, since it drop one of the Minis I need in the Azeroth Mini: Starter Pack

But alts seems to need to do some long prequest or have a certain reputation to make this quest available. I did all up until the i400 trinket on my alt

Still not able to get this daily (Yes it was available on my main that day)

EDIT: Completed all available quests in Mechagon, the NPC still didnt spawn to give the daily quest. I also hit friendly rep. Another character who had done the opening questline last week could get the quest.
Perhaps you need to have the intro questline completed before 09:00 the day the quest comes around to trigger it. Also noticed i dont have the turn-in quest down at alliance FP either.

I've found with this quest that you need to scan creatures that are not engaged for it to work 100%. Once you start scanning you will engage the creature, but if you are trying it on one that someone else has tagged or that you are in combat with, you will not get scan credit.

I got credit for Steelarm Pillagers, but not Malfunctioning Microbot or Junkheap Roach. Guess it has to have a chance to kill you in order to count.

You can scan ranged-mobs while hovering with an Anti-gravity Pack and fly away afterwards to avoid combat.

Once you complete the quest, you can have start having Azeroth Mini Pack: Mechagon drop from chests and Azeroth Mini Pack: Bondo's Yard from Malfunctioning Beastbot.

If you complete this quest while exalted with Rustbolt Resistance, you'll also get the quest My Punkin, the Action Figure from Grizzek Fizzwrench a little ways away afterwards, which rewards Azeroth Mini: Sapphronetta for the Most Minis Wins achievement.

You can not scan them while fighting and after they are dead. You have to "pull" them or scan them first then fight to get credit.

Scan them at a distance (outside aggro range). Yellow mobs are 5% and red mobs are 8%.

Be sure to scan mobs that are inside the marked area on the map. Otherwise they won't give you any credit.

I targeted the YELLOW NPCs and clicked on the item from within the quest log and nothing happened. TARGET the NPC and click on the Quasi-Faceted Scanner from within your bag and you should get results.
