I only got credit and the fishing schools when I was the only person to tag it.

As of today it seems a bit bugged. I killed it several times, bot as the first tag and not, and got credit on the 6th or so kill. I was not the only one tagging, neither as a character or faction, so it seems bugged to me.

got credit after 4th kill. there were a lot of people, respawn timer is TOO short btw, it does not even allow you properly fish up the fish and it starts attacking you before you could cast 2-3 times

For me, I got credit when I was the one targetted as it died, which might help if you're having problems with spawning the pools required.

I think I might have figured out the problem: the Gulper has to be over water when it dies in order to spawn the pools, so if it gets kited out of the middle of the pool, it displays the weird "fleeing back to the pool at 1 hp" bug behavior.

If you're having trouble, try keeping the Gulper in the pool while you fight it.

(This is just a theory, anyone else who can give additional data is appreciated!)

For whatever reason, Gulper currently ignores all AOE damage as far as I can see. As a dk, Blood Boil, Death and Decay, and the Sethralis trinket all did nothing.

I've killed the mob for this quest 10+ times, I finally got my kill and the pools to spawn finally! I've found I need to be in the water when I first attack and when he dies for me, I'm not sure on anyone else, I've done it several times successfully back to back. I hope anyone that comes looking for answers this will help. GL!

You need to lure him under the water and then kill him. After doing it successfully, it will spawn several fish schools and you can catch 3x Bubble-eyed Rolly from them.

Well after 15 minutes of trying to remember my login info I am here to tell you how I believe it works. As of this moment only one person/group can get credit. To get credit you have to get the killing blow or get into a group with the player that ends up getting the killing blow. This probably will get fixed (might have already as of the time of making this.) as it is pretty infuriating.

As of 28th of June I showed up to the area all by my lonesome and got kill credit and he also spawned the pools!
4 pools and it took about 7 casts to get the 3 Bubble-Eyed Rolly's.

You receive this quest from Danielle Anglers on the Western Coast of Mechagon.

For this quest you need to kill the elemental and then fish from the pools he leaves behind. If you move him while killing him then after you take his life down to 0% he will swim back towards the middle of the lake and explode in to the pools.

This quest can be a bit buggy to complete, I had to kill this guy about 5 times before it finally counted towards the quest and then after that it took a while to fish up the Bubble-eyed Rolly from the pools before I suddenly started getting them one after the other.

Some people have noted success with avoiding this bug by making sure they don't move him out of the water when killing him.

If someone was waiting for him like me: he is not on the lake at the bottom.
There is another lake, road up starts at

/way 54.09, 27.22

and then a little bit to the right, you will see him.

In order to get the Hundred-Fathom Lure which you need in order to summon the Gulper, you need 200 Ionized Minnow. In order to get 200 Ionized Minnow, ask the quest-giver for a Minnow Vac. Once you get it you will see a lot of fish pools in the nearby water, and you will have a small robot following you which can be used on the pools to gather 200 Minnow. You do not need to actually fish up these minnows with your fishing skill/ability.

The fish you want - the Bubble-Eyed Rollies - are not a 100% fish from the pools... of Bubble-Eyed-Rollies.

The hundred fathom lure is in the water before I arrive. I can't activate it. I collect my minnows and try to activate the hundred fathom lure again and cannot. Danielle Anglers is not selling a new lure ... How the heck to I solve this?

A Gulper Ate The Rolly

Kill the Rolly Gulper and catch 3 Bubble-eyed Rolly.

Description

The Bubble-eyed Rolly used to be plentiful in the nearby pond. Last week they all started to vanish! A large water elemental has been swallowing all the fish! They are still alive, just swimming around inside the elemental now. I need you to kill that elemental, and catch three Bubbly-eyed Rolly so I can examine their condition.
