To do Show-Off you have to first ride the horse Cooper at 51.51 26.25 Norwington Estate stables.
After that step into the arena with barrels and fences to start the quest.
You'll have 3 abilities:
Rapid Dash - speed boost.
Harpoon Jab - spear attack in front of you.
Bolas - throw bolas at zeppelin
For each killed barrel with gnoll you'll get 1 point, Paper Zeppelin - 50 points.
When you jump the fence you'll get a stacking buff Style which increases points gained after a kill by 1, maximum stacks - 100.
You have 60 seconds to do the quest.
Important part is to shoot zeppelins, you'll hear when they come out when Lord Aldrius Norwington yells "Zeppelin out!".
If you failed the attempt talk to Lord Aldrius Norwington to start again.
Make a macro:
/target Paper
/click OverrideActionBarButton3

so you don't have to click on zeppelin. (You can put macros on any secondary panel, only the main panel spells are replaced. Secondary panels are hidden when you are in the vehicle but the macros bindings still work.)

Strategy that worked for me to get 600 points:
Enter the arena from the east side of Norwington Estate.
Follow the loop of 6 fences which form a circle path, leave the 2 fences on the other side of the arena, you don't need them.
Make the first loop without hitting gnolls to accumulate Style stacks (7-10).
Then include gnolls in your rotation, they should respawn when you come back for another circle run.
And don't forget to shoot zeppelins.

You have to jump the fence cleanly to get stacks, if you touch the fence it, it won't refresh the buff duration on Style.

1. Stack Your Style Jump over Fences focus on that for first 20 sec or more to make more stack.
2. Don't take down Paper Zeppelin to fast wait when they will be at the and or minimum on mid. Max you will take 2 of them down.
3. Rapid Dash use how often you can. That is incresing you speed to reach more Fences.
4. And at the end In last 25 sec jump much less just to keep stack and Hit targets focus on them AND don't MISS them.

There is a special place in hell reserved for the tool who designed this Q. It's not a test of your ability to use your character, merely a test of how dexterous you are with a mouse or keypad. If you're not that nimble, or your processor is not so fast then this will be a 'once in a lifetime' visit then consign to the bin marked 'Crap Quests'. A gigantically pointless exercise, for the Super Mario lovers.
Fyi...this is not the Q needed for completing the 'Norwington Estate' Q line (which you need for 'Sound Plan' achievement - which you need for Pathfinder pt1). You do 'Show me what you've got' for that, which is the same task you only need to score 150 pts though. See my post for that Q for a guide.

It took me about 4 days daily practice to nail The Reining Champion. You enter from the East side of the showground through the colored balloons, where you will be facing Southwest to begin (Lord Norwington is on your left now as he counts you in) and you only care about the 6 gates closest to you which lead round in a clockwise circle that takes up about 60% of the showground. Here's my top 10 tips I'd give to nail this achievement:

The targeting macro mentioned by several people here is essential, as you have no time to spare looking for zeppelins but you can't afford to miss them either
As soon as your time trial begins, I recommend doing 1-2 laps of the 6 gate track (ignore the back two gates like others have said) hammering Rapid Dash and ignoring the gnolls to get plenty of Style stacks. When you begin scoring by killing gnolls, your first gnoll should score 13-14 points
Rapid Dash is so essential for this - don't press it in the lead up to a Harpoon Jab as you will struggle to keep control of Cooper, but you should definitely spam it immediately after a gnoll dies, to quickly reach the next gate.
Don't ever try to do this achievement during peak time on your realm and definitely not when the world quest Show-Off is up. If other people are practicing, just come back another time when nobody is about. Other players will be very distracting, and in particular newer players to the quest will stand around on the practice ground in silly places and throw you off when you're trying to line up a Harpoon Jab on a gnoll. You really need an empty showground for this and an optimum connection with nothing else happening.
Get used to the zeppelin calls. The first will always be at the end of your 1st or 2nd lap as you pass Lord Norwington, and the 2nd will be random. Do not go looking for them. It's important to just spam the targeting macro as you move around doing your track. You can't even look up from your track to look for the zeppelin if you want this achievement, as you don't have time. That's why you use the macro, as it will find it for you.
If you're struggling with zeppelins, turn on Error Speech if it helps, as your character will complain he's too far away, so you know it's probably coming from the far side of the showground and you'll get it later in this lap. If you hear the thud of targeting and a whip sound, that's the zeppelin done, so you can return to concentrating on your run and waiting on the next call.
When you start killing gnolls, you can't miss any on the lap. If you do miss some, your run is over. Get used to going straight out and asking Lord Norwington for a new time trial, and the same applies with lost stacks.
It's absolutely possible to be screwed by bad RNG in where zeppelins appear. The best you can hope for is that they are called when you're in range to immediately throw Bolas. In my experience of about 30-40 runs, the first is usually very easy to hit and the second more often than not will be far away from you. There is a third zeppelin in the closing seconds but you can end up missing out on two very high scoring gnolls trying to hit it, so just concentrate on your track run once the 2nd is down.
Practice as much as possible at handling Cooper before worrying about completing the achievement. Get to know what he feels like when using Rapid Dash and practice turning in the air so your aim is lined up with a gnoll on touchdown for a Harpoon Jab.
Sound is the most important tool in your arsenal. Turn off Music with CTRL+M, make sure you have Dialog on to hear Lord Norwington and get to know what the magic sound of Style increasing sounds like when you land a jump, as you have no time to be looking at buffs. Once you learn to depend on sound more over visual, you'll find yourself concentrating a lot more on the run.

Expect to fail a lot, learn your weaknesses and focus on overcoming those before worrying about beating the clock.

This quest can dead set gagf. Half the time you jump a fence it doesnt stack, if you lose the jump stack you need to start again every time. The 3rd Zep always comes out with about1.5 secs to go. if you dont get it you also wont get to 300. Whoever made this quest can also gagf.

Easy for Level 120 Battle for Azeroth and beyond...

1) Make sure you jump the fences cleanly, and that is your priority.

2) You will see the rainbow color stacks in the top right corner as you jump each fence cleanly

3) As soon as the Zeppelin appears, use the Bolas to take it out ASAP.

4) Other than that keep jumping fences, kill the popup barrel guys after you jump a fence, and you're good.

5) You'll find once the stacks get really high, 20 or higher, the points really add up.

Untill blizz fixes the costant world lag this quest is useless. Once they will fix it, it will be just garbage

Here's how I did this for the World Quest:

1) Use mouse to control direction.
2) Run around over a few jumps to build up points buff.
3) Spam 1 and 2 alternately whilst going over jumps and running through the targets. Try to get a jump in between every target.
4) Wait for zeppelins to get half way through before targeting them.

The trick is not to worry about controlling the horse perfectly or hitting every target - just keep going as quickly as you can. I was missing targets, failing to jump jumps and didn't bother with the zeppelin macro, but got to 300 on my fourth attempt.

If you are using ElvUI, your macro will have to instead be:

/target Paper
/click ElvUI_Bar1Button3

You can tell if you have the correct button outside the competition by climbing on Cooper, targetting yourself and using the key you put it on. If your macro is trying to fire the Bolas, Cooper will rear up and you will see the errror "Invalid Target" on screen.

When I was a teen I had cancer. Multiple surgeries, two years of chemo and some radiation therapy. This quest is more painful than all of that.

The designers of this quest are sadistic and have no place working at Blizzard Entertainment. I hope someone from Blizzard looks into this and gives them their walking papers. The whole point of WoW is that it should be fun. To design a quest that only serves to make 99% of the players that attempt it feel miserable, that takes a 'special' type of person. The type of person that would work for Everquest, not WoW.

Been playing for 14 years now and I'm pretty sure that this heaping load of garbage is the worst quest that I have ever had the displeasure of doing, and I'm equal parts angry and horrified that the sadistic S.O.B. who made it apparently decided to also make it a world quest. I'm only 26 rep away from exalted with Proudmoore Admiralty on my main, this is the last WQ I have left in the Sound for now, and after already doing it as a quest while leveling (before finding out that I didn't even need it for the Sound Plan achievement and I pretty much tortured myself for naught) and giving it half an hour worth of attempts just now, I can safely say I'll forever be avoiding this crap like the plague and I'll gladly wait until new WQs pop tomorrow to finish off my rep grind.

For the love of the Light, Blizz, please just remove this, at least as a world quest if nothing else.

To keep track of your stacking "Style" buff you can put focus on Cooper and always have his portrait up on your screen, even when targetting and killing zeppelins.

To do this, just mount Cooper normally, then immediately before doing anything else, right-click his portrait (which should be highlighted already), select "Set Focus" from the menu and you're done. Optionally, you can unlock the focus portrait and move it to some place that is less distracting to you (again by right-clicking the portrait.)

Good luck - you'll need it, because this quest sucks eggs!

Starts off apparantly normally. Then seems to stop counting up points. Can't start again, because if I exit Cooper, even if I leave the area and return, can't reacquire quest.

Not sure if it's broken, or designed like this for...reasons? "Hey this is Blizzard. Thanks for giving us your money. Now f**k off!"

Remember to pick up Best In Show if you haven't completed it yet; you can get the requirement for both in the same run.

I found that the stacks of Style did not seem to disappear even if I got stuck on a fence, as long as I jumped a fence before it expired. I don't know if this has changed (ISTR it being much harder before). I used autorun, which may be enough to keep the buff even if you get stuck on a fence.

I entered from the southeast (jump over the wall), hit autorun as soon as it started, got the 3 fences in a row, and then started doing the loop of 6 northeastern fences clockwise. Started hitting targets roughly the second way around the loop. Missed a lot of fences/targets, and mostly did not bother with Rapid Dash, but I managed without too much difficulty. (On the second completion I managed to get 300 points even before the last zeppelin came out.)

One trick is to temporarily bind "3" to an alternate action bar button with the macro. My macro is just
/target Paper
/click OverrideActionBarButton3

(This comment suggests also adding button 2 to the same macro. I haven't tried that.)

If you haven't done Beginner Equitation yet, this is easy with that quest. Shoot the zepplins down before you get to that part of the quest. Got it on first try.

Like everyone else, I hate this quest with a passion but the World Quest was giving a good item upgrade reward for one of my alts so thought I'd give it another go after avoiding it like the plague. Hopefully this will help someone out there who is frustrated like I was.

This may take a few practice runs to get the feel of jumping, jabbing and the zeppelins but here's what I did.

The key here is to keep up your stacks of Style at all times by jumping over the fences - this is key - 1 fence jump = +1 stack. The higher the stacks the better as you get more points per hit. I jumped over 5 or 6 fences before I started jabbing the targets (button 2) then jumped over 2, 3 or 4 fences before jabbing more, rinse and repeat. I ended with 21 stacks so the sky's possibly the limit.

Keep up your stacks of Style before you use button 3 on a zeppelin. You need to actually click on the zeppelin, you can't "tab" it. Spotting a zeppelin can be tricky as they don't spawn in the same place but come from one of the 4 corners, jump over the fences until you spot it, click it then hit button 3. The zeppelins give you a lot of points and around 3 or 4 will spawn per run.

Button 1 - didn't use it once. Macro - didn't use either.

Got 300 points with time to spare but took me about 5 times to perfect it. Good luck!

This piece of garbage quest reminds me of that ridiculous Calligraphy thing....
Even if you do it exactly right, it won't count it as completed.
WAY TOO MUCH pointless shiz to remember to finish this tripe, WHY did Blizz decide this was fun?
This is just Torture, for the sake of Torture, and adds NOTHING to the game, but unsubs.
While it is true, it feels like, that the current team at Blizz is sadistic, this is proof positive.
AVOID IT, you cannot win, and the time you waste could be better spent on quests that were not designed as a sick prank on the players!

This Quest/ World quest can be really frustrating but the trick to getting it done is constantly jumping fences hitting the gnolls when you're close enough to them and making sure you've jumped over fences to keep your buff up when the Zeppelins comes out

Never make another like this!

Whoever thought having this become a world quest over just a storyline quest was not in their right mind.
I also hope they trip and falls on there face and is fired!

It has become one of my most hated world quests and I refuse to do it, not even a million dollars would make me do this quest ever again in my life.
To make this quest better either to make the point count lower or the timer to complete it longer, or even both should be done to it!

Because the comments clearly state how much everyone hates this quest, as opposed to those offering solutions to overcome this very thoughtless and stupidly made quest!

While you're doing your jumping, gnoll stabbing and zeppelin shooting, Do not stop. Do not slow down. Do not pause to look around. GO!
Re-read that as many times as it takes for it to sink in because until you understand, you aren't going to successfully complete this.
