2 pet leveling strat

leveling pet - will take 140 damage
dream whelpling with emerald bite, toxic skin and emerald dream,
stormborne whelpling, mana surge and arcane storm, this is unlikely to be used, just here as back up

pass, swap to your dream whelpling,
cast emerald bite, followed by toxic skin and then emerald dream,
and this is pretty much the whole fight, let Bumble B do damage to itself from toxic skin,
whilst just healing up any damage taken, just keep toxic skin active, emerald dream when available, try to cast toxic skin followed by emerald dream so that it never drops off, and emerald bite to fill,
once Bumble B defeats itself, Fris B & Busy B will be left, at the moment in the beta they just come in and sting you and defeat themselves, not sure if this is intended or a bug (cough cough)
so just continue doing the same with your dream whelpling and finish up with the stormbourne whelpling if needed,

As said by someone else this guy is a bit northwest of the map location and his name is actually Michael Skarn, not Edwin Malus.

Also they have 5K+ hp. After the first one is killed they oneshot themselves... seems like a bugged fight

So Wowhead says to defeat Grixis Tinypop, the in-game quest tracker is telling me to defeat Edwin Malus, and the actual NPC I'm battling is Michael Skarn.

The 5000+ health is not a bug, if you pay attention to his voicelines throughout the fight he mentions how he trains his bees to become big and strong and die as soon as they sting something. Its a joke on how bees die as soon as they sting something, so I'd imagine everything is as intended.

3 x Nexus Whelpling - arcane winds and mana surge, then tail sweep till Bumble B is dead. Your 1st whelpling might die but it doesn't matter. 2nd and 3rd bee will kill themselves on 1 hit

Don't be terrified by the 5k health of all three pets -- the bees eventually use Sting and kill themselves, described in-game as following:

Plunge your stinger straight into the enemy's chest, dealing 490 Flying damage. ... Then die a horrible death.

You can kill the first bee with a Nexus Whelpling if you want, but you can also just survive the fight with an Emerald Proto-Whelp using Emerald Dream, or any other high-health pet with block/dodge, until the bees finally use Sting and die.

1 Pet Strat- Nether Faerie Dragon
Start with Moonfire, Then spam Arcane Blast to chip the health down, when NFD is around 500 health use Life Exchange and then use Arcane Blast 2 more times and the fight is over. Easy way to boost pets!

Nexus whelpling basically soloed (1,2,2).
2nd and 3rd pets kill themselves each attack so magic attacks on the first pet is all.

Make new friends, tie some yarn, that's how you do the 'skarn'.

You don't have to kill anything or even attack.

How this fight works is that all three Bees start the fight with a 10 round cooldown on their Sting attack, which kills them instantly when used. All you have to do is survive for 10 rounds, then survive 3 Sting hits.

For an easy victory, use something like a Crab or Anubisath Idol, throw up their shield/sandstorm on cooldown, then pass your turns (attack animations are a waste of time). The first Bee can't even break through this with damage, then swap to a magic pet on Round 10 and pass those turns as well.

Very easy and fast fight when you understand how it works.

The bees Sting your pets and commit suicide after several rounds, so it's basically just a survival fight. Dragonkin pets work well, especially Green Dragonkin-types with damage reduction/healing skills.

You can solo this with Emerald Whelpling, keep spamming Emerald Dream, if it's on cooldown, use Emerald Presence, don't use anything else.

For those of you who got really confused (like I did), Edwin Maldus is not the NPC you are looking for! You are looking for Michael Skarn, who is a little northwest of the WQ marker on the map (61.06, 17.70).

WARNING to Horde players! Watch out for the NPC Alliance Guard that patrols the path, they will attack you, and they will flag you for PvP! (From personal experience lol)

This Master Pet Trainer is located on the path just above the Horde Flight Path for Mudfisher Cove in Drustvar. All three of his pets are Flying type (bees), and all three have both Sting and Slicing Wind. Each of the three have different third abilities, however.

Bumble B. has Cocoon Strike (does Flying damage and will block the next attack, strong against Aquatic)
Fris B. has Swarm of Bees (does Critter Damage for five rounds, swarm ability, strong against Undead)
Busy B. has Amber Prison (is a Humanoid ability, but merely stuns, does no actual damage)

Any Aquatic pets will take extra damage from both Sting and Slicing wind, so avoid using them. Dragonkin pets, however, will take less damage from flying pets. It is recommended to use non-aquatic pets for this battle. The bees will all use Sting as their opening move, which will kill each bee in 10 turns.

So any pet that can mitigate damage (such as Anubisath Idol) can work in this battle, so long as they are not Aquatic. Currently, this world quest will scale to level 1 pets, which makes it much easier to complete!

I went with all dragonkin and I let my first one die after that bee stung my second pet they started to drop like flies. Just last until all three stings. Super easy charms :D

Seems that if you use Life Exchange on one of the bees on the same turn as it stings your pet, and your pet is slower, you'll bring the bee back to life, so be careful with that, I guess.

The following spoiler tag contains the rematch code, with fight instructions for this fight. It uses the Emerald Proto-Whelp to carry two leveling pets.

The leveling pets should be level 4+, >360hp, Aquatic pets need more.

This strategy came from Lazey on Xu-Fu's Pet Battle Strategies.

EITHER faction can easily get accidentally flagged for PvP here. It's aggravating, I'm tired of it, and I'm becoming suspicious that it's purposeful.
No offense meant for those who love to PvP, but there is a large segment of the population who absolutely LOATHE it. After 14 years, I'm not suddenly going to say "Oh hey it was fun killing that other player. I might be good at this, let's try it!" Pretty sure that's never happened, ever. So Blizzard, stop forcing me to hide or hearth to avoid fighting some ganker. Like the poorly or non-marked footholds around the world, where for the first time in an expansion, you can accidentally ride into somewhere that's innocent looking and get immediately flagged, this feels like an ambush. It's starting to look like a consistent theme, and it smells of desperation. If PvP is only fun when you get to beat on players who didn't want to PvP in the first place, something is deeply flawed.

(will take somewhere around 160dmg)
1 lvl 25 Anubisath Idol 1-2-2 (doesnt really matter as long as you use Sandstorm as second skill)

Start with lvl pet,doesnt matter what you do, swap to second pet, dont matter again, swap to Anubisath and use Sandstorm on CD, other skills are irrelevant, once you survive 10 rounds all three Bees use their Sting and insta die, and youre golden. My Anubisath ended up with 700+ hp left.

Not sure I seen it but for this quest, Singing Sunflower can solo it. Just use sunlight, and spam Photosynthsis.

The ACTUAL location for this is 61.23, 17.33. The trainer is named, Michael Skarn and is just off the cobbled path. Don't try to climb the hill that the arrow indicates and don't go down by the water unless you are Horde. There is a Horde camp there and they will put a crimp in your Alliance style. The fight is easy, leveling pet with health above 140, Emerald Proto, should do it.

You can easily level a level 1 pet off this guy. Start with any pet that knows a barrier move (Illusionary, Prismatic, Beaver Dam, etc).
Use the barrier then swap to your level pet. Swap to any of the dozen of pets that can solo the fight (Emerald Proto Whelp, Dream Whelp, sounds like Anubisath and Elekk Plushie can as well).

Emerald Proto Whelp, Dream Whelpling, H/P Nether Faerie Dragon, Yu'la or Emerald Whelpling (or several other durable dragonkin pets) can solo this along with 2 leveling pets for some pretty good experience. Both of your leveling pets need to be able to survive 140 flying damage from a cocoon strike, which most level 1 non-aquatic rare pets can do.

Start with a leveling pet in the first slot, pass or use an ability, eat the cocoon strike, then swap to your proto whelp. The bee will slicing wind your whelp for light damage. Use emerald presence, the bee will slicing wind again for light damage. Swap to your second leveling pet, the bee will cocoon strike it. Swap in the Emerald Proto Whelp, refresh presence, then Emerald Dream. By the end of the dream Sting will be off cooldown, and the three bees will all suicide into your whelp.

Yu'la's celestial blessing can be used to allow a safe swap in of a leveling pet that would otherwise be killed, such as a level 1 aquatic level pet, as a single Life Exchange the turn before sting comes off cooldown is enough to carry it through the three stings to end the fight even without Emerald Presence. In this case the sequence is:

One pet leveling strategy that is a little bit dependent on RNG.

Anubisath Idol (2,1,1)

Deflection - Bee Dies
Pass - Get stung - Bee Dies - You should be left with a tiny amount of HP if you were not critted more than once.
Pass - Get stung - Idol Dies - Bee Dies

This strategy works 100% of the time nine times out of ten.
So unless you are really unlucky both back row pets get exp, else you lose one and the second gets all the exp.

Family Battler teams

I think it would actually be very hard to fail this in it's current state, his pets just don't do enough damage before you win in round 13. I wouldn't be surprised if this gets made slightly harder (posting this in 8.0.1).

Realistically Bumble B. is going to do ~3000 damage before they all start killing themselves (another 480) each.
Even with baseline HP pets at 1400 this is very do-able.
All it takes to win is for your leading pet to have some form of
-damage mitigation like Shell Shield, Emerald Presence, Crouch
-escape tactic like Dodge, Burrow, Lift-Off
-heal like Photosynthesis, Life Exchange, Healing Wave

and this trainer should be a freebie toward Family Battler sub-achievements.

Easy win with all lvl 1 pets. The bees don't attack until round 10 and then they just die. Just remember to swap the pets when they use the sting if you don't want any of your pets to die.

For Family Battler this fight is really easy.

1. Take three level 25 HH pets of the same family.
2. Pass, sometimes pop a deflection, decoy, beaver dam or some strong heal like life exchange.
3. After 13 turns you're done.

This might require a bit more care for aquatics, but for the other families simple passing works. I breeds won't even matter for mechanics, magicals and dragonkin.

Step 2 is also optional for most teams, but it saves some pet swaps.

For Critters with Huge Teeth:

Zoom (2,2,x)
Any other 2 Critter pets

Cast Shell Shield and keep it up; fill with Absorb. Win.

Worked on the first try and Zoom had 63% health at the end.

Soloed with P/P Emerald Proto-Whelp, keep up Ancient Blessing, fill out with Breath and use Emerald Dream off cooldown, exact same tactic as against Constellatius fight on Algalon. Had Dream Whelp and Emerald Whelplings as backup but never needed them.

This quest is also possible with the Discarded Experiment. Just cycle Spiked skin and Draconic Remedy when its appropriate and its a win!

3x Stormborne Whelpling
Mana Surge then Arcane Storm, repeat over and over until you win.
The bees only killed the first toon before I won when they killed themselves with their sting.

Critters with Huge Teeth for Family Battler - Snails!

Any level 25 rare snail with Absorb and Shell shield will suffice.

25 Rare Shimmershell Snail (Absorb, Shell Shield, Dive)
25 Rare Scooter the Snail (Absorb, Shell Shield, Dive)
25 Rare Rapana Whelk (Absorb, Shell Shield, Dive)

Open with Shimmershell Snail. Cast Shell Shield. Dive on CD, Absorb as filler keeping up shield.

13 rounds. Shimmershell snail dies the same time as the last enemy bee (Busy B).

Even during Shadowlands, this is a great world quest to farm pet charms or battle-stones on, because you can solo this quickly with an Emerald Proto-Whelp or Dream Whelpling and finish the fight at near-full health, great if you want to farm this on a bunch of alts.

The fight is 13 turns, so you want to time Emerald Dream for turn 11 to end the fight.

round 1 - Emerald Presence
round 2 - pass
round 3-5 - Emerald Dream (heal / heal / heal)
round 6 - Emerald Presence
round 7-9 - pass 3x
round 10 - Emerald Presence
round 11-13 - Emerald Dream (heal / heal / heal)
