The cauldron is in Felwood at (60, 5), top left of the mountain range at the top center.

The cauldron can be clicked on and its like talking to an NPC so you don't need to kill the mob, just run in, click it and escape.

But I killed the mob before I found that out :P

Just a warning, as well. The five mobs that are around the cauldron are linked, so be prepared to run if you can't fight all of them at once.

As a priest, run to the cauldron, get aggro of all five enemies, fear, complete quest and run to the lake and put levitate on.

This is what i did as mage. I polyed the shaman (to get a rid of the caster), then the rest was coming at me. Frost Nova them run over and complete quest, run like hell. Not that hard.

Ok I'm embarrassed to say this but... did this as a 54 warrior. 1st attempt ran in on horse, died next to the pot. 2nd shot rez'd at the pot and clicked it, got the next quest then died. Couldnt be bothered going in again so I took rezo sickness and had 2g75s repairs. Stupid warriors....

I second the comments made by the Warrior above-- these mobs are nothing to mess around with!

As a 55 Pally, I got it done on the first try without dying by sneaking carefully up to the caludron without pulling aggro, then bubbling as the mobs by the cauldron attacked me and I got the quest. Then I ran as much as possible to get back down to the road.

Good news, mobs don't follow you very long when you're fleeing; bad news, there's lots of mobs.

I am a 55 rogue and i pulled one of them and they all came i started to back up a ways then put on evasion and sprint ran through all of them clicked pot complete accepted quest and then vanished :)

Hrm... As a shaman, I ran as up as fast as I could, threw down a stoneclaw totem, completed quest then ran. Didn't get hit once. ^_^

as a lvl 56 lock i sent my void in to destract all 5 mobs and then i went to the cauldron as soon as i hit accept i made my void as a shield and ran for dear life

I did this with a 52 frost mage......i summoned my Water Elemental, set him on aggressive, frozen nova all and then did the cauldron thingy....prety easy. Whatever........after thet i died :D.

Just run straight through the mobs, click on the cauldron, complete quest, and except the quest. Then run away into the pond in the middle and the mobs should stop chasing you then. Then you can plan your way out, pretty simple.

As a 55 Warrior I ran in and Thunderclapped for Aggro then used Intimidating Shout which gave enough time to turn in quest and grab the next one before running out. Made it out with 1/2 of my health still intact.

As a 52 Warrior i advice you to go without any gear equiped and weapons because the death is almost certain. I managed to survive. Started with a charge, then fear, quickly finishing the quest and then defensive stance and shield block spam. If you have Nifty Stopwatch (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=2820) you can even increase more your chances of survival. But first its better for you to think in an escape route. Running suicidal to another group of mobs will make your ressurection quite hard.

Level 54 MM Hunter; Just casted mend pet and sent in and then ran in grabbed the quest completed and ran back to the water... they stopped chasing me, if they did follow you into the water its because you still had their agro...

Also at the entrance to the Timbermaw place there is a quest that involves killing the Deadwood Furblogs so if you have not already done the quest then just grab it and complete it while getting to the cauldron

I did this at 57 <mage> . There were 5 mobs but i managed to kill one without aggro. That left four including a caster. Pyro'd one mob to pull 3 came,mana shield myself, Nova'd them in place, blinked to the pot, sheeped the caster that stayed, clicked my pot got my quests, mana shield as needed and raaaaan. This should work for mages lower than myself.

I did this today, also using my 57 mage. It was quite easy. I pulled the Mob of 5 (a white one stayed at the cauldron) and with my elemental and frost nova, a couple of blizzards/cone of cold and they all died.

Done easily as a 55 mage. Didn't kill a single mob, and only took a couple hits that actually gave me damage.

Just ice barrier, mana shield, wait until the ice barrier cooldown is up, hop on your mount and stay as far to the wall as you can until you run up and agro the mobs, then just run to the cauldron, frost nova, right click the cauldron, press Complete Quest and Accept (make sure you have one free inventory space), and then start running away. When ice barrier runs out, throw another up, mana shield too. Just make sure ice barrier is first so it doesn't drain mana before your ice barrier goes into effect. And by the time you reach the lake you should be out of combat, so you can stop, mount up, and head on over to Winterspring.

As a hunter: sent pet in, clicked the cauldron for the quests, then booked it with aspect of the cheetah. Eventually, your pet automatically dismisses itself and you can just call it back. I wouldn't bother precasting mend pet because once it ticks, you'll get healing aggro (and about 4 angry bears).

As a shaman: stoneclaw, do your business, drop an earthbind, and run (if you have improved ghost wolf, it's even easier).

56 (mainly arms) warrior. took the run in approach.

cleared up the left side. then mounted up and ran in. clicked through on the two quests. at this point I had enough rage to fear them with intimidating shout. ran and popped my nifty stopwatch. got to the water with ~50% health left.

Did this as an 55 druid. First, I died trying to kick those mobs arses:P Then I got in to catform, stelted near the cauldron, VERY carefully. Then I clicked at the cauldron, got discovered by the mobs, changed in to travelform, ran as hell to the water, changed to sealion, got up on land on the other side, and the mobs finaly got of my back. Yey

As a 54 rogue this q is a piece of cake. Saped the lvl 57/ Winfury Runner or something like that, used Evasion, took quest, and then ran away with Sprint

I just did it, there was only 1 mob watching the cauldron, a level 57. I forgot the name of the name of the furblog but it was the same name of the group of 4 that walk around in Winterspring. Maybe they path that far?

As a lock really easy. Get yourself in safe distance to the cauldron. Send voidwalker in to get aggro of the 3 mobs, then send him to attack an other mob far away. The mob follows, you grab the q, sacrifice and run out again.
Should work with a hunter's pet too.

A word of warning: The respawn time for these mobs is VERY short (less than 1 minute). I ended up abandoning this quest because by the time I got to kill the mobs around the cauldron the others on the way had respawned and started mugging me from behind. Kill them, and the ones around the cauldron have respawned. I tried this as a 53 BM hunter + cat and couldn't do it as a result of the ridiculous respawn rates. I suggest that this quest should be done in a group so your friend(s) can keep mowing down respawning mobs while you get the cauldron.

as a 57 rogue i stealthed my way to the cauldron located at 60,5 then i just used distract to make the mobs face the other way. then i sapped the runner guy thats infront of the cauldron, completed and then got the next quest and sprinted out of there. easy quest..

Very easy quest. In fact, the run from Winterspring to Felwood is harder than quest itself if the timbermaw is still hostile with you.

Coordinates are 60.5 (in felwood) right on. A few mobs around the cauldron, can possibly be pulled one by one but not likely, crowd control comes in very handy here but it is also simple to kill them all without dieing.

Yeah its right top left at the mountain. if your a hunter just mount up up and go straight to that place, then if they attack you let your pet do the work with support of your volley.

P.S. not to lose any mana keep the aspect of the viper on.

This quest was marked obsolete by Blizzard and cannot be obtained or completed.

Search the Deadwood furbolg camp in northern Felwood for a clue.

Description

This greenish liquid... it reminds me a bit of the sludge I saw when traveling through Felwood. And I have seen some Winterfall Runners passing into Timbermaw... Perhaps these things have something to do with the flask you found, <name>.

There is a large group of furbolg just past Timbermaw Hold, in Felwood. Called the Deadwood tribe, they have been corrupted and driven mad by the fel. Why don't you look around there and see if you can find any evidence of dealings between the Winterfall and the Deadwood?
