Take spirits back to the temple.

I actually thought this world quest was bugged at first, as no real information is given about how to do it, but I can confirm it does work.

1) Kill Reanimated Horrors to release the spirits
2) Spirits will begin following you around The Necropolis
3) Run to the 'holy' circle on the floor at 36.9, 27.8 to get credit for returning the spirits

Killing blows by pets do not spawn souls. So stick them on passive or dismiss them beforehand

I don't think it's working as intended. Not every Horror killed gives you a spirit, more like 1/3 and then some of them get lost on the way to circle. I walk (don't mount) I stopped engaging other horrors on the way, but still after 60 kills I only got 8 spirits to the circle.

If your class uses pets, dismiss the pet for this quest.

I was not able to get the spirits to follow until I dismissed my pet, after that I got a spirit every kill.

In addition to needing to dismiss your pet, if another player arrives to "help" you fight, it seems you won't get all the spirits for the group. Any that the other player gets the last kill on don't come with you. So, friends please don't help!

Ya know, its frustrating enough, but then throw in that not all the spirits follow or spawn, not really worth the effort - at least not for me again.

I love having to do world quests as a BM hunter without my pets. Bravo Blizzard.

(If your pets get the killing blow, no spirit spawns to follow you back to the circle)

Kill 6 skeliemon, get 1 spirit....yeah, that's fair. Screw this, not worth the effort.

Kill the horrors. Those are the ones that follow you. When you get some run up to the circle that's at the top level in front of the entrance to Bwonsomdi's crypt. It will be lit up on the ground. Run into the circle, the mobs will follow you and give you credit.

I came here because I was confused about where to find the reanimated horrors (none were spawned that I could see). If you're looking for them, they spawn typically in groups of 3 around the courtyard area (down the steps from the circle). You can also find some in the tunnel straight across the courtyard from the circle, and up the stairs on the far side to the right. I killed them in groups of 3. All of them spawned a spirit and I was able to mount up and run back to the circle without a problem.

To complete The Spirits Within, kill 12 Reanimated Horrors.
Their spirits will follow you around in the quest area, even if you fly.
Then go to /way 39.49 27.89 to get credit.
