Zeppelins are not giving any points at the moment, making this pretty much impossible.

This quest is currently (Beta Build 80000) not doable (for me). Zeppelins do not award any points, the description of the quest says they should be giving 50 points - which would make this quest very easy to complete, if it actually worked.
The stacks you get for jumping fences are indicated through a buff, which lasts 5 seconds and refreshes everytime you jump a fence. (Buff: Style)
However, I didn't get buffed everytime I jumped a fence and I'm not sure what the game counts towards jumping over a fence.

I manged to complete this (April 26th) by starting in front of Norwington and just ran a clockwise, triangular path as follows.

I jumped over the 2 close fences in front of him and then went attacked the hogger directly in front of those 2 while galloping clockwise around it before jumping the fence on an angle. I went straight towards the next fence on an angle and jumped it before going towards the 3rd fence in the corner. Jump that one and attack the hogger there and turn towards the fence (towards Norwington) and jump the fence and attack hogger again and then turn towards the 2 close fences to jump.

Rinse and repeat.

You have to try and keep the Rainbow buff that multiplies your points up as high as you can go when killing the hoggers.

Finished the 150 points in no time.

The next quest is called Best In Show and requires 300 points and I followed the same pattern adding in the one extra hogger close to the 2nd angle fence. The key I found for myself was to NEVER use the speed boost as it would sometimes negate the fence jump for the extra 4 seconds of buff.

Honestly they need to fix fence mechanic or quest and follow up is going to be too hard for most. There is about a 50/50 chance a jump over a fence will count and buff only lasts 4 seconds. so you have to basically jump over a fence every 2 seconds not every 4 or you fail automatically because you can't keep multiplier up. If they fix that this won't be so hard.

I just figured out you can stop in front of a fence and just keep jumping and the buff you get keeps stacking this helps a lot to get high stacks of the buff since zeppelins don't give points at the moment.

To do Show Me What You've Got you have to first ride the horse Cooper at 51.51 26.25 Norwington Estate stables. Then talk to Lord Aldrius Norwington.
After that step into the arena with barrels and fences to start the quest.
You'll have 3 abilities:
Rapid Dash - speed boost.
Harpoon Jab - spear attack in front of you.
Bolas - throw bolas at zeppelin
For each killed barrel with gnoll you'll get 1 point, Paper Zeppelin - 50 points.
When you jump the fence you'll get a stacking buff Style which increases points gained after a kill by 1, maximum stacks - 100.
You have 60 seconds to do the quest.
Important part is to shoot zeppelins, you'll hear when they come out when Lord Aldrius Norwington yells "Zeppelin out!".
Make a "/target Paper" macro so you don't have to click on zeppelin. (You can put macros on any secondary panel, only the main panel spells are replaced. Secondary panels are hidden when you are in the vehicle but the macros bindings still work.)

Strategy that worked for me to get 600 points:
Enter the arena from the east side of Norwington Estate.
Follow the loop of 7 fences which form a circle path, leave the 2 fences on the other side of the arena, you don't need them.
Make the first loop without hitting gnolls to accumulate Style stacks (7-10).
Then include gnolls in your rotation, they should respawn when you come back for another circle run.
And don't forget to shoot zeppelins.

Well, first, go and mount Cooper. As you remember, it's at the stables.
You have to score al least 150 points to pass the quest task. So, there're some tips:

Always keep Rapid Dash up while you're moving to the next target.
Jumping over the fences is the key to win. Each jump stacks Style, so you get more points per target.
Shot down zeppelin when it's about to expire. While it's flying, you have to keep collecting Style
There's the The Reining Champion achievement can be earned if 600 points collected.

I've tried many tactics and this one seemed to be the best:

1. Ride in circles with your speed buff and focus only on jumping over the fences till you get approximately 7-10 buff stacks. You can jump back and forth over the same fence if you like.
2. Once you get 7+ stacks start/continue riding in circles and hit every dummy that you pass.
3. When the zeppelin comes out see which corner he's flying from and shoot him down. Don't forget to jump over the fences - you don't want to lose your buff stacks.
4. Repeat points 2 and 3.
5. Kill dummies till the end of the timer while trying to maintain your buff.

The third zeppelin will appear just when the timer is about to end so don't count on killing him. With this tactic you should be able to hit 150+ in time.

The trick with this is to work hard on stacking up that Style buff as much as you can. Jump over the fences as fast and as often as you can, hit the gnolls as you go, and pay attention to when the zeppelins come out. Try to hit the zeppelins when they come out, but be careful not to lose Style because it disappears pretty fast if you're not jumping over the fences.

Way too easy. Zeppelins are worth 50 points. Just knock down 3 of them & you are done. No jumping, no stabbing gnolls, easy peasy!

The zeppelins are now giving 50 points each. One appears at approximately the half way point and the other at the 3/4 mark, you must get both of these and continue to pound the leaps and targets. Do NOT waste any time at this juncture with stacking the buff, must make sure you are always moving and chopping while jumping over fences. Its close, but it took me two times AFTER I tried a couple of sit-it-out attempts to check the zeppelin timing. Ugh, did it :)

You can actually get 3 zeppelins in one event, which means you don't have to do anything but use the Bolas on them. I just did it, and the last zeppelin appeared about 5 seconds before the timer ran out.

Edit: note that this only works for the initial quest. It will not grant you 300 points for the quest "Best in Show".

As of today, 8/15/18, the third zeppelin I received disappeared (along with the counter) immediately after it appeared with the score at 106. Thu quest was, hence, in need of attention. I repeated it thrice for verification.

This quest is impossible to get done on high pop servers that and the zeplins spawn too slow.. would be better if you allow grouping for this.

I saved this quest for last to come back to, as my final achieve for A Sound Plan. I got frustrated in Beta trying to do it, and that was no different on Live. I'm not very good at quests like this, but if I can do this, so can you.

The hard part is that last zeppelin (after running around trying to keep your buff, jumping fences, and hitting gnolls)! BUT, after what seemed like umpteen-million times of re-running this out of pure determination, I noticed that the last zeppelin only comes out at the left or right (random) by the entrance. You literally only have 5 seconds to target it with your bola, so expecting it at one of those locations should help the rest of you too.

Running around hitting "Charge" and jumping over hurdles and spear-heading gnolls IS an important part of the achieve, but none of that will add up to completing the quest without getting that last, 3rd zeppelin. Good luck, all!

Hello! :)

I did this quest today (8/18/18) then the follow-up quest ("Best in Show") and I assumed for each the 3rd Zep was bugged. But then I read a suggestion to use a macro like "/target Paper". Things about these two quests I learned that may be helpful:

1. Use a macro, so basically when you hear that a Zeppelin is released, use it and then hit three for the bola. Don't have to stop jumping to search for or chase the stupid thing. Yes, you're riding a vehicle but if you have a keybind for a slot put the macro there and it will still work even though you can't see it. The third Zep appears something like one to two seconds before the timer expires so again practice the targeting macro + the 3 for bola for those points if you need it. For 150 though you don't need the third Zep even if it does bug out, the 50s from the other two and steady jumping for styles buffs to pop barrels will be enough.

2. Stay in the center of the ring and jump over the middle fences back and forth. Another poster suggested this for "Best in Show" and it helps a lot as you don't have to risk resetting the event by getting too close to the edge of show area. Just jump two middle fences over and over and pop the nearby barrels as they reset and macro + 3 key each announcement of a Zep. If the nearby barrels aren't up it's OK just stack more style buffs, one will be up soon.

3.No need to use charge. Just jump, jump jump, pop, jump, jump, pop, jump jump, jump, jump, pop... etc. and kill each Zep as soon as you hear it announced. Rushing too fast means missing jumps and missing targets when you strike at barrels, or even getting too close to the edge of the event and having the whole thing reset. A simple and steady back and forth in the middle will get the job done.

For people who are having a problem finding the zeppelins you can use control + tab, that will switch between Cooper, the horse, any other player that might be trying this and the zeppelins.

I finally got it by getting all 3 zeppelins. I was facing the correct corner when the last one came out and spammed the button to hit it. It was luck of the draw, but it worked.

I finally did it. I didn't run around, or try to hit anything.

I parked in the middle of the ring and hit the zeppelins when they appeared.

I tried parking at the entrance but I was too far away to hit them all. Doing it this way also showed me all the zeppelings, when I was doing it like I should, the third zeppeling vanished, and I couldn't hit it.

First I tried the suggestion but I just couldn't do it. I hate this kind of stuff, too bad is pre-requisite to finish the campaign.

If you jump over the fence and then hit the target, the target will award you more points per stack. Keep jumping over fences to keep stacks going.

I absolutely hate these video game twitchy mini-games in Wow., but this one is especially terrible, and is required for the A Sound Plan Achievement.

I haven’t hated a mini game this bad since mopping up pirate barf near Booty Bay.
I’m still unable to get past 145 points and after 50 plus attempts I’ve yet to even see the 3rd zeppelin after he calls it out. This has stopped my progression in BFA.
For Gods sake do not tie expansion progression up with a bloody mini game!

This quest bugged out for me the first few times I tried it. Could not kill gnolls nor was I getting the jumping buff. Eventually it randomly started working and the quest is pretty easy with the buff. You only need 2 zeppelins, the gnolls should take care of the rest.

I read all of these posts, and all of the running around and jumping and targeting gave me a headache. This is what I did:
Jump fences. Get style buff points up. Hit zeppelin - get lots of points. Hit a couple of targets, get points. jump fences, get style points up. Hit next zeppelin - done!
More detailed - there are 3 fences in the middle. I focused on these, jumping back and forth, to get my style pints up, then I hit the first zeppelin and got 64 points. Kept jumping fences and hit some of the targets until the next zeppelin popped and finished it.

Took me several tries before I figured out how to get the final zepplin, it appears on the opposite side of the "arena" So after you get the first two, just be somewhere in the middle or on the other side from where the zepplins come out and when he yells, look up for it! When the timer runs out you'll have to abandon the quest and start it again.

This quest is worse than any water level on any video game ever. WotLK was a pretty good expansion, but it's this mechanic that made me completely skip the whole Argent Crusade fiasco.

Why on earth should players have to be forced into using add-ons to complete a Q line? These Q's are nothing to do with 'knowing' your class or managing buffs/cooldowns etc. they are simply testing your dexterity with a mouse or keypad.
Anyway, rant over, here is the cheats guide to completing this Q;

1) Don't waste time running around spearing barrells & jumping (cleanly - your stack will be lost if you clip one) over fences.
2) Camp around the middle of the arena (but closer to the entrance nearest the stable).
3) Look out for the "Zeppelin out" shout from Lord N.
4) The first 2 Zeppelins are released from the corner of the arena between Lord N & stables.
5) Tag each one when they are in range & fire bolus - 50 pts a piece.
6) The 3rd Zeppelin comes from the diagonally opposite corner of the arena, so move quickly nearer that location.
7) As soon as you see the "Zeppelin out" msg, scope for it, tag it quickly & fire bolus. - 50pts. Job done.

The 3rd Zep is only released 2-3 seconds before the timer runs out so you may take a few tries before nailing where to exactly wait to make sure you can tag & fire in time.
Frankly, if it wasn't for the fact you need this Q to complete the Norwington Estate Q line for 'A Sound Plan' achievement I don't think many folks would bother with this.

I simply cannot do this quest... I have tried ALL the suggestions - all the addons - all the macros and I must accept that I am an utter failure on it. (the growing anxiety attacks and crying jags are just so healthy for me too <sarcasm>)

I *am* curious to know if the Horde side has a similiar impossible Mandatory mini-game - or have the Alliance only been targeted by this stupidity

Nope. As of 9/9 using the wonderful macro only got me to like 106 because as soon as he says "Zeppelin Out!" you are out of time. Not trying again until Blizz says they fixed it.

Ok I think the third zeppelin is always popin in the back of your character.
So, put your camera pointing backward and wait for the third zeppelin to pop, target it and use your bollas.

To everyone having difficulties,

When it starts use the boost and jump over the fences to keep stacking the buff
Occasionally hit one of the targets, you can stop for a second if you need to then just jump over the nearest fence so the buff doesn't run out
Lastly, hit the zeppelins

on my second try I was able to get 245 points with just 2 zeppelins and a few targerts

I must be doing something wrong because I can't get the macro to work. I made a macro /target zeppelin & put it in the slot F3, key bound to letter Q. When the zeppelin is up I push Q & then push 3 & it doesn't do anything but say invalid target. What am I doing wrong?

Jump. Jump like your life depends on it.

After struggling with this quest more times than I care to admit, I was finally able to complete this by ignoring the rapid dash and just focusing on landing successful jumps, getting the buff and then jabbing the targets. Between that and grabbing 2 zeppelins I reached 150 with a few seconds to spare.

I've absolutely found the easiest way to do this quest. It actually makes it quite laughably easy.

For the previous quest, it runs you through the basics, hitting the dummies, throwing bolas at the blimps and jumping the fences. It will keep spawning the blimps even after you complete the blimp objective. If you wait until another blimp spawns, then complete the previous quest and accept this quest, you can then immediately bola the remaining blimp to get instant points, at this point its laughably easy to hit the next blimp when it comes out while jumping over heaps of fences and spearing gnolls.

I hope this helps, until blizzard catches on that is.

I literally created an account just to agree about how dumb this quest is. I can't seem to get a macro (no matter where I designate) to sit on my bar when I'm mounted. Even so, no matter how quickly I hit the first 2 zeppelins, the last one is either 1. too far to hit when I locate it or 2. suddenly appears and then disappears within a second or less.
Blizzard get rid of these dumb pointless quests!

This kind of thing in the game is Baloney. I am a death knight not a circus clown there for his entertainment. I saved his kid and he makes me turn tricks?

Anyway, this quest is wack. My eyeballs hurt from looking for those zeppelins, the whacking of the gnomes doesnt earn the points so you have to get the Zeppelins.

All the effort I put into this quest chain for nothing because I cant get my fingers across the keyboard fast enough to beat the timer. I will have to give me account info to somebody just to get past this part.

Congrats to those who were able to find a way to do it & ha the patients to keep trying over and over, by blood pressure cant hack that mess. The macro didn't work for me either because it takes away your interface, there are no action bars so if you set your macro you cant use it.

I OFFICALLY HATE THIS QUEST!

It might be be a bit easy if you had a visual timer showing too and not just the damn point counter. At least that way you would know if you were close or to just reset.

Easily my least favourite quest of the expansion.

When I end up ignoring the intended mechanics in favour of pretty much jumping on the spot spamming a macro, something has gone wrong.

I had more fun in the Argent Tournament and that was hot garbage.

Come on Blizz! Seriously? I have been at this stupid quest all day. I've tried the macro, key binding and trying to get the timing down. The fact that I can't progress in the questline until this is done, completely stupid.

Top tip:
At the begining just sit by the entrance, wait for the first zeppelin, don't hit it but run right out of the ring and back in to reset your turn. I did this and the zeppelin was still there, so nail it for an easy 50 points 'at the start of your new turn' the next two zeppelins are easy enough after that.

Otherwise that third zep that turns up in the last second is near impossible.

It might be luck or coincidence, but I got the third zepplin when I spun around to see what was behind me. That is when I saw the third one. Facing the same direction that the second one appeared did not seem to work.

Lvling an Alliance for the fun of it to hear their side of the story and came to this little gem. What a terrible quest! From a solid Hordie, I send my condolences. You didn't deserve this.

I came here because I thought I must be missing the point or doing something wrong. Nope, it just sucks that much. I am terrible at this sort of timed thing, elderly player, (spent all day at DMF trying to get Hogger pet which never happened) so this was a nightmare.

I finally completed it but not sure how I did it, tried most of the hints but in the end the one that worked for me was run around like a headless chicken jumping and swatting barrels like mad, and shoot a zep. For some reason, because you never really do understand the scoring system, I completed it with only killing two zeps. Didn't look at the counter or buffs, just ran around and used the speed buff every time it was off CD. I somehow ended with plenty of time and a score of 152? Stupid quest

And he wants me to do it again and score 300? Stroll on...

I guess I'm just stupid. I can't figure out how to make the keybinds. I write macros, I do everything else in this game, why can;t I do this one stupid Playstation quest?

I completed it by standing still and only going for zeps. After a few trials it was easier to anticipate and find the third zep.

I just finished this after the help here but all I did was jump 3 fences that were kinda in a row while killing three barrels that were near each fence. I
finished the quest first try. Don't worry about Zeppelin's or bollas's. I didn't mess with either. Just jump three fences while killing three barrels.

as of today I think maybe they fixed /nerfed it? i am a casual player and managed to complete it today by poking the pigs and catching all 3 zeps with my camera scrolled all the way out on my 2nd try. good luck everyone !

Easiest way to complete this quest.

- Stand in middle
- type /tar paper zeppelin (don't hit enter)
- What for Lord Aldrius Norwington to say "Zepplin Out"
- Wait a half second for Zepplin to appear
- Hit Enter (to target zeppelin)
- Hit 3 (Bolas)
- Repeat 2 more times

Note: You don't have to face target so you literally just stand there.

The last one is the only tough one as you only have a couple seconds. I was out of range the first time, second time also but spammed 3 and got it.

This quest isn't that difficult once you understand the mechanics of it.

As you jump fences you get a rainbow buff that lasts for a short amount of time. Each fence jumped stacks the buff and resets the timer. When you hit a target you get the number of points based on the stacks of rainbow buff you had.

I never hated doing a quest before, but this one.. Oh this quest I wouldn't do again even if I was paid too.. The only way I got it to work was to hit the targets, (didn't get points for jumping the fences) and looking in the all the corners for the zeppelins. I looked in the corners clockwise quickly and it finally worked! Good luck

I wish Blizzard would give us other options to finish this questline without this quest. I have tried for weeks, even got that key bind macro situated, but I am legally blind and as try as I might I just fail at this all the way around. Disappointing. just wish there was options to finish the quest line with this or alternative quests to do so. =( for all of us with user error difficulties.

Ok, so I'm just trying to level. I decided to go to another zone to level. I don't remember how or where to get the zone introduction quest though. I tried the Harbormaster office, but that map is not active for me. help?

looks like lots of ppl having trouble with this, i'll make it simple.

1. forget about the jumping and stabing, or using speed, none is needed
2. u not gonna always complete the quest, as sometimes u only get 2 zeppin in a minute, but sometimes 3, and the 3rd one sometimes spawn at the last 1 second and u'll not get it before it times out and disappears
3. if 3rd zeppin spawn before the last 3 seconds u'll be fine
4. forget about macro or keybind its super annoying as it removes all ur action bar keys.
5. this is how is done, all u need is stand still in center of the box, type in ' /tar paper ' , select and copy the text
6. while in center of the box press enter and Ctrl+V, to put the /tar peper into chat box but DONT press enter, or u can simply type it in but don't press enter
7. when he says ZEPPIN OUT! press ENTER and then 3. WIN

Get more points for hitting a barrel by jumping over fences this also slows the timer bar down for more zeplins to appear.

I just completed this quest. I didn't jump anything or hit any of the targets. I stood by the guys launching the zeppelins and waited for each one to be sent out. Done. It was that easy. TBH I think blizz played a trick on us with this quest.

8.1.5... 2019... Stand in middle of courtyard... do not jump fences... do not hit gnolls... just sit there... do nothing... type "/tar paper" in your chat window... wait for him to say "Zeppelin Out"... hit ENTER, then spam "3" till it dies... wait in middle... repeat process... do this three times, you get your 150 points before timer runs out.

this is an absolute #$%^ing &*!@ of a quest and i legitimately hope that the person who decided it would be a good idea gets trampled by a horse..... ok no that's a bit much but you get the idea. why come up with such a #$%^ing stupid and buggy quest? and why make it a requirement for the zone. mind boggling decisions I tell you

Oh my gosh, I finally completed this quest... after months of thinking I was hearing him say " Stepping Out" , instead of " Zepplin Out" ,
I realized my first mistake...and so then I came to check out this quest on Wowhead and found out exactly how to do this quest.
Thank you SO much to those of you who took the time to post and let the rest of us know how to complete it. I am eternally grateful
that I never have to do this quest again. hahaha.

For what it's worth, I have my numpad numbers bound to regular numbers; I bound my numpad <Enter> to Space/jump as a secondary bind; and I bound my zeppelin macro (on BottomRight Action Button 4) to the numpad +. This let one hand do all the work with hardly any moving, and I got 165 points only because I hesitated after I hit 150.

For this I just key bound the macro /target paper and i kept jumping the middle fences and just getting the zepplins. Trying to do fences, barrels, and zepplins all at the same time was just too much for me lol

Description

It looks like you understand the basics. Now it's time to put everything together. Head for the ring. Once you hear the starting pistol, you will have one minute to score as high as possible.
