It you die on the part where you have to kill Varagol the Coercer on the final stage he seems to be a bug out and then just evades all of your attacks. Porting back out doesn't seem to help either. I ended up leaving then resetting the instance and taking my time trying not to stand in a bunch of nonsense and Mario-like mechanics on the floor.

So the solution so far is: Don't die.

Talk with Tak Tak and ask him to send you to Stormstout Brewery. It's a scenario, so be ready.
Shatter the main door to get in. There are few tasks during the quest:

Loot Barrel of Storm Brew from barrels through the brewery.
Detox npc's on your way. They will help you to fight demons.

When you done, Il'ruxx and demons attack you, defeat them and travel to the front door.
As you got out of the brewery, massive legion assault starts. You have to close three rifts:

Rift 1 - 36.6 35.0
Rift 2 - 44.9 46.7
Rift 3 - 64.1 30.6

I just wanted to throw it out there that if you go outside and a demon picks you up and drops you down into the water, you might as well hearth out and restart the whole thing over since there's seemingly no way to get back up. Later when you outside and the boss comes up, you get a nifty blue circle to step in that jumps you to it, but not before that point.

It wouldn't be so stupid if there was some kind of logic behind the move. If you step outside, a demon will randomly just grab you and drop you. Why? Why no way back up? Why not way to avoid it besides not going outside where barrels and detoxing people are? Why put stuff I need outside if I shouldn't go outside? As stated, there's no logic.

Detox is a spell you have in your spellbooks general tab, use this on the Stormstout Brewers!

In 10.x (Dragonflight) you will need to respec your talents to put a point into Detox for this quest. I just removed one point from the very bottom most talent it put it to detox instead

If you die after killing the demon on the last step you can't get back onto the platform with the rune. You also can't port back to your order hall from there. I got around it by ported to Dalarn and then using Zen Pilgrimage.
