Before you start using your Dalaran Hearthstone or Flight Master's Whistle when you pick this quest up, Dusktalon is nearby. It's a hippogryph that will take you from the Nightfallen camp (where you pick up the quests) directly to Black Rook Hold in Val'sharah.

You have to fly to Val'sharah and then go to Black Rook Hold (not an instance, just an area) and there three Telemancy Beacons. Find a hippogryph named Dusktalon, he will take you to the Hold.

The turn in location of Oculeth didn't show up as a yellow question mark on the quest map, the Suramar zone map or minimap. Oculeth is at the armed camp just north of the Promenade at 39.9, 51.4 in Suramar. Wrote this up as a bug.

If you are on the quest to obtain the new traits on a healing weapon, you will not be able place a telemancy beacon on one of the weapon caches, because it will disappear as soon as you get close to it due to phasing. Simply finish the new trait quest, and then come back to finish this.

This quest is linked with Learning from the Dead and Citizen's Army. Collect all three quests before hopping on the provided transport Dusktalon who will drop you off where you need to be.

Sadly he won't stick around, so you will need to make your own way back.

The Becons are already there, next to the weapons. They are bright, light, gold. Just right click on them.

If you have the problem/bug where the third (southernmost) beacon fades out when you approach it, don't reinstall your game, mess with your folders, drop and reacquire the quest, etc. -- you need to complete this quest chain totally:

Shadowsong's Return/shadowsongs-return

Note that the full list of quests is NOT here, but you're close to done when you're on "Shadowsong's Return." You kill some undead near Bradensbrook, then go to Black Rook Hold, free some ghostly heroes from their curse, and fight and kill a named demon. Then you're sent back to the mage in Dalaran, Archmage Modera, and complete a very short event during which they "upgrade" your weapon.

Once that is done, you can complete the "We Need Weapons" quest immediately. You don't need to drop it and pick it up again or anything -- all of the teleport beacons become clickable and the southern one no longer fades out.

I found that when doing this quest, I had a problem with the last beacon phasing out and disappearing when I got close to it. I had abandoned the quest: The Bradensbrook Investigation and then approached it again. It worked this time. Just a hint for those of you who are getting frustrated with that quest. I did not have to drop the quest: We need weapons.

Gang,

Although the exclamations marks are showing up on my map for available quests, when I go to the locations there are no quest givers. For example I am trying to do 'We Need Weapons' but Oculeth is nowhere to be found.

If you can't click one of the beacons, as it "fades" when you get close, or if you find the hold "closed" by green flaming gates, you are probably on your healing spec artifact quest.
Finish the quest line and the gates will disappear, making the beacon clickable and also allowing you to finish world quests.

You have to do the quest line all the way to the mini event where the council empowers your artifact, so be sure to carry your healing artifact when in Dalaran for the quest ending.

Alright. I found away to do this WITHOUT doing the healing artifact quest line or any other quests in that area. My friend was desperately trying to unlock Nightbourne and was having the issue of the last weapon phasing out as she got close, we contacted Blizzard twice and got a "go try to complete this list of a dozen quests". So after thinking about it I wondered if party syncing would share credit with her.

So what you will need here is a 2nd person, now what I'm not sure is important or not is if this 2nd person needs to have completed these quests or not themselves, or if they need to be a class that wouldn't have a heal spec. My friend who needed the quest was a Monk, and I was a Hunter.

1. Ask a friend to party up with you
2. Turn on Party Sync in the quests tab.
3. Get the quest "We Need More Weapons" for both party members. Can share quest once synced
4. Travel to Black Rook Hold and begin touching the telemancy items. Both players must activate, it will not share credit.
5. Go to the 3rd, notorious one, and try it out.
6. My friend and I were both able to select thus completing the quest for turn-in.

Information currently untested- We happened to be using a 2 person mount with me (Hunter) driving, I do not know if this affects the phase but who is driving (a non heal) MIGHT determine the phase everyone is in(?) We were able to activate these while flying. If anyone tries this out without a 2-person mount or if both classes need the quest still please let me know so I can add it and everyone can not deal with this annoyance anymore...

Recover 3 Weapon Caches at Black Rook Hold in Val'sharah.

Description

So many of the rebels want to help in the coming battle. Our people have the will, they lack only the means.

They need weapons.

From what Khadgar has told me, the fortress of Black Rook has plenty of munitions we could use.

Travel to the fortress and place these beacons on some weapon caches there. Once placed, I can teleport them back.
