Currently, only one player can loot the quest item from the NPC.

In the beta the quest mob drops one quest item. First person to loot it gets to move onto the next quest, while the rest have to wait and try again.

Because auto loot is slow, and because I love you guys, try the following script:

Remember where you went to watch Khadgar move Dalaran? Stand on the blue pedestalin the middle of the room. You will be taken to a chamber where you can meet with Khadgar to turn the quest in.

This quest is available at level 100+, but appears to require a certain amount of your Order Hall Campaign to be completed.

This is the first in a quest chain as follows:

Completing these quests unlocks a tint for your Classic Artifact weapon skin.

A Falling Star

This quest is picked up from Archmage Khadgar in Dalaran, in the Violet Citadel. After this, you will take a flight path at Krasus Landing that takes you to Suramar.

Once you land, you will be on a beach, and you may notice an Abandoned Ballista or two, and a Jandvik Banner.

If you are level 108 or less, I would ADVISE AGAINST clicking the banner! This banner is a a Rare mob encounter, which spawns a few waves of mobs, after which King Morgalash spawns. This banner/mob encounter has nothing to do with the quest!

This is what you want to do instead (make sure to do these steps in order, rather than going straight to the cave!):

Search the crash site - head to , which is due east of the island. Swim down to find the area (Looks like a swirly spot in a crevice on the ocean floor)*
Investigate the Cave - The cave entrance is at .*
Mysterious Lightbound Object - kill Yorg Murkmouth in the cave, and loot Mysterious Lightbound Object.

*Watch that you don't run out of breath!

After you return to Dalaran, you turn in the quest in the Chamber of the Guardian (take the port at the center of Dalaran).

Bringer of the Light

The completion of this quest is in spoiler tags, for those who want to figure it out and complete it themselves. I've listed what happens next, as well as tips for completing this quest.

Khadgar opens up a portal to the Exodar, and taking it starts the scenario "In Defense of the Exodar". As with any scenario, you can right-click your portrait and "Leave Instance Group" (even if you are solo) to leave and start again.

Step 1 is to find the Prophet Velen in the Vault of the Lights. Just make your way to the area marked on the map, killing demons on the way. If you happen to aggro a bunch, just kite them to Velen, as they will be incinerated by the dome of light surrounding him.
Step 2 involves A) Rescuing 12 Terrified Exodar Citizens and B) Destroying 8 Fel Portals.

All of the portals are marked on the map, and there are many more portals than you will need scattered through the Exodar.
When doing this step, its best to skirt your way around edges of the rooms. If you stand in the middle of pathways, the stream of demons running towards Velen can easily aggro and overwhelm you! Find corners and alcoves that avoid the steady stream of mobs that spawn.
Beware of patrols, as there are groups of demons all over the place and its easy to get overrun.
Terrified Exodar Citizens are typically around the edges of rooms, corners, behind structures/boxes, in covered rooms, etc.

Some are children, so are smaller and easy to miss
They are marked on your minimap, so this a great way to track them down
Extra (Optional) Stuff:

BONUS QUEST: There is an extra quest available from Farseer Nobundo at 44.8, 9.4 in the Crystal Hall. This grants some gear and XP; it involves surviving 3 waves of demons, then killing Karzak the Impaler after these waves. As a DPS class doing this, it was quite a challenge! Mobs spawn frequently, and you must rely on the NPCs to help (i.e. stay near them). Farseer Nobundo will also heal you.

When you are to face Karzak the Impaler, I would suggest saving all of your DPS cooldowns (or healing, for that matter) for this encounter. The NPCs tank him, so dying is not a concern; rather, if this takes to long, Nobundo will bite the dust and this quest will fail!
If you want to complete this optional quest, you MUST pick it up before completing the Step 2 objectives (Portals and Terrified Citizens) or else it will not be available!
There is an (optional) bonus objective active during the scenario (you'll see the objective progress bar). Completing it by killing demons will net you some gold and experience.
A rare spawn NPC (Huk'roth the Huntmaster) was found at in the Trader's Tier. He is surrounded by Felhounds, which can be killed in smaller groups to avoid being overwhelmed.

He drops Order Resources and Huntmaster's Injector
Step 3 is to return to Velen, and allow him to examine the Mysterious Lightbound Object
Step 4 is to escort Velen to the Seat of the Naaru
Step 5 involves defeating High General Rakeesh. There is a very interesting reveal that occurs through this - I won't say what it is though!

Other commenters stated that you can tag High General Rakeesh and let the NPCs kill him, but doesn't appear to work anymore - you have to fight him yourself. That being said, it seems they may have made this encounter more manageable, as the NPCs do help, and will heal you.
After this, simply use Khadgar's Beacon to return to Dalaran.

Light's Charge

After completing Bringer of the Light, you receive Light's Charge, which has you return Light's Heart to your Order Hall. At this point you unlock one of the tints for your Classic Artifact weapon skin (part of the criteria for Fighting with Style: Classic).

I've solo killed yorg in betas numerous times with no drop. Participating in a kill will mark quest as ready for turn-in however you won't have the object to actually complete the quest.

You CANNOT get the item simply by killing the giant. You first have to go locate where the item fell.

The location you're looking for is almost entirely impossible to see coming from above or from the shore - so overshoot it (head toward the cave opening a bit), then turn around and hug the bottom, moving up the rock slope. You're looking for a rock with a slightly gold glow (it's small and easy to miss). The area itself is the purply looking small hollow in the rocks.

Swim up to it and Kadgar will tell you "it's not here, they must have dragged it into the cave" or somesuch.

Then go to the cave and kill the giant.

Once you hand in the quest to khadgar, an in-game cinematic start that features Turalyon, the brave paladin that selflessly assisted Archmage Khadgar in destroying the Dark Portal on Draenor as part of the Sons of othar. The original expedition force to Draenor. Presumed to be missing in action until this point.

Don't be like me and head straight for the cave, or Kadghar won't spawn, and no matter how many times you kill the mob Yorg won't drop anything!

Take Khadgar's flight, once you land in Suramar, head straight out to sea (or die at the hands of 110 mobs just inland) and swim down to the crash site, it's swirly.
Then enter the cave, and get the credit for exploring it
Then kill Yorg Murkmouth and loot the Mysterious Lightbound Object before hearthstoning back to Dalaran to hand the quest in.

once you land in Suramar, you gotta go to the water and land onto the rocks underwater at a specific spot, only THEN do you go to the big cave with the giant and kill him.,

This quest was greyed out for me at level 102 and I was a bit confused. Once I progressed my class hall quests to the part where you do the second follower mission, I was able to accept the quest. (Didn't have to wait for the mission to complete).

When turning this quest in, remember to go to the correct Dalaran. My Dal hearth was still on CD when I finished the quest, so I used the Dalaran portal in Shrine, and I subsequently became so frustrated about finding Khadgar that I abandoned the quest. I was submitting a ticket about the quest not re-appearing, when it dawned on me that I was in Northrend's Dalaran. This resulted in immediate facepalming and having to redo the quest and wait for the hearth to come off CD again.

This is like a vanilla quest in a bad way. Search an indiscriminate area for an ill-described thing under the ocean so you can go to another place and kill a thing. But don't go to the place and kill the thing first, that's no good. :(

First quest in Legion that annoyed me. Rest so far have been brilliant.

If you came here because you are just swimming around in circles like a chucklehead, here is what you need to do:

Swim to 92, 61 and then dive to the bottom (this is the "crash site")
Go into a cave at 94, 64
There is a Sea Giant in there, kill him and get his loot.

Presto, unlike Khadgar, I just explained how to finish this quest.

For those who, like me, don't have map addons, the swirly "crash site" is EastSouthEast of where you get dropped off on the coast, on a slope facing out to sea. If you start seeing poo-flinging gilblins, you're getting warmer.

Be sure to actually get credit for searching the crash site BEFORE heading to the cave to defeat Yorg. Otherwise, he will not drop the Mysterious Lightbound Object for you.

May I recommend this video if you, like me, came seeking a replay of the cinematic? This even has English subtitles. It's cued to start with Khadgar touching the object (after the annoying commercial, of course).

As I had no idea what to expect when the event with the artefact started, my volume was too low and I missed some of what was being said. This helped immensely.

The only drawback to this recording is that he DOES make the mistake many do and teleports out before the others rush up, when Velen gives them that final speech .

at the "end" of this questline, when you are given the object to port out, start porting but then stop and you'll see some more interaction.

This is such a good questline (I'm talking mostly about the attached scenarios as they don't seem to be listed on wowhead). I really enjoyed the storyline and acting.

If you die you rez on land in Stormheim and you can't go underwater as a ghost.

You will most likely have to take 10 mins of rez sickness before going back inside the cave

How to hand in this quest:

Walk to the centre of Dalaran. The room in the middle has a weakly glowing blue disc at the centre. This is actually a well disguised teleporter; stand on it and you will be taken to where you need to go.

My hearth for Dalaran wasn't up so I teleported to Dalaran from the Shrine and I couldn't find Khadgar or the portal. I finally realized that I was in the wrong version of Dalaran, I didn't know that was possible. I used my hearth to Dalaran and turned in the quest >.< Hope this might help someone else!

falling star... seems they took wayyy too much from the Diablo 3 storyline in Legion. along with mythic keystones as another example. Theres many many more.

Its like theyve ran out of ideas and are copying what the Diablo 3 development team are doing.

This first look into the growing story line was so sad, I cried as I was killing the Prophet Velen's son. Blizzard, you really know how to pull at the heartstrings of your loyal players <3. And, again today on the Horde side I am off to go do that same quest line again ./cry.

This quest is mandatory for continuing all class order hall campaigns, but not the two follow-up quests.

The whole quest is situated in Azuregale Bay, it means if you do it at 110 and started the Jarl of Jandvik questline you'll have access to Draught of Seawalking making the quest much less painful.

As of 7.2 - if you are 110 and haven't done this quest yet. *fidget* 'So I'm told... ' *cough* You have to do the 7.2 Broken Shore scenario first and then Khadgar will be back in Violet Citadel to send you in to do this quest and the scenario there. Hope this helps if you're wondering where the quest went. A bit cart before the horse.

If you're a Priest, don't start on this right away. Instead wait until you're level 105, and you get your Order Hall quest Demonic Runes (collect 50 Demonic Runestones from various demons around the Broken Isles). For the Falling Star chain, the demons in the instanced version of Exodar do drop the runestones that you need. Since you'll be killing a lot of demons in Exodar anyway, you'll save a lot of time if you work on both quests simultaneously.

If you abandon this quest and want to find the start then go to the center part in Dalaran (Chamber of the Guardian) and take the portal up. Then go to the door on the right on the upper level and Khadgar should be in there.

If you are having problems finding the turn in for this quest, you do not need to go down in the sewers as I thought. Just run into the centre of dalaran where it says the turn in is. In the centre of the room will be a big blue button like thing on the floor, stand on it and you will be teleported to khadgar.

Any hints to killing the giant? I'm a 110 Warrior all buffed out, yet between the throwing in the air and the stupid swirls, I can never beat him. That's after about two months of trying different things 2-3 times a week. Is this actually meant for a sole character?

WORST Quest chain in the game! Unless of course, listening to some old windbag endlessly talk for 10 mins at a time is your thing! It seems like every time Valen is involved he talks, and talks and talks and talks without end... oh, and then tells you to hurry (in the followup quests). I dread doing this chain, I always end up yelling at my monitor "Oh would you just shut the &*!@ up and get on with it!"

Quests like this are the bane of my existence in Wow. You can swim around the crash site for a half hour and have no idea that you've passed it like 50 times. I didn't figure it out until I saw the screenshots. Take a look there if you're having a hard time like I did.

When you go to do this, I found out that if you are doing the Jandvik quest chain, you HAVE to finish it. You are phased out of all of the area questing content (except World Quests) until you finish the quest chain.

I found this out after hours of trying to get the quest to work, and a GM responded to my ticket and told me that since I was still on the Jandvik quest chain, I would not be able to do any regular quests until I finished.

Is this bugged? Firstly, summoning Kalecgos' Fury didn't work - it looked as though it did, but Kalecgos can't have been that furious as he didn't bother turning up. No sign of Khadgar, who other people are mentioning on here. Anyway, finally managed to get the mob down to 10% health, then he suddenly regenerated all his health, and I died again.

Don't kill Yorg Murkmouth until Khadgar speaks to you and you get credit for the cave. It didn't happen for me until I was out of the water and directly before the thing, I ended up having to kill him twice.

It is highly likely that if you have not complete the Jandvik questline - in particular Jandvik's Last Hope - this quest will bug.

For those that cannot FIND the quest at all, thus are unable to start the class hall campaign quest-line, NOTE this:
The very first quest is "A Sign from the Sky" which starts from Lord Maxwell Tyrosus in order hall. However, as I couldn't even find "Sign from the Sky" quest, I realised that I had to complete the 30 second mission in the mission's board, given fron the npc Lord Grayson Shadowbreaker. Complete the 2 quests "Dark Storms" and then "Recruiting the Troops". Once you have done these 2, speak with Lord Maxwell Tyrosus again and BOOM "A sign from the Sky" is available. Good luck with your campaigns ;)

If you die in the cave, there's a very good chance you won't be able to reach your body because your dead ghost has water walking. You don't have to take 10 minutes of rez sickness and 25% damage to everything you're wearing AND everything in your bags each time Yorg kills you. Instead, run out to deep water and stop when you hear the fatigue timer buzzer. Just sit there and let the fatigue timer run out. Believe it or not, your ghost will die and be transported back to the graveyard. Run back out to the same spot in the water and your body will be there. Accept the rez and swim back to shallow water. You'll still take the damage from dying twice, but it's less damage, and no rez sickness.

THERE IS A NEW DALARAN AND AN OLD DALARAN!

I took the Dalaran portal from Orgrimmar and spent a long time wondering around where the portal should be, then someone let me know that I was searching the Old Dalaran!

If you take another portal in Orgrimmar (I think the straight ahead one, azuna or something), then it shows another (new) Dalaran on the map. THAT is how to get to the class area.

For those of you who skim the comments looking for coords like me: Crash site is at 92,61. Cave is at 95,64. Make sure you get credit for finding the cave BEFORE you attack. Happy hunting :)

This quest only shows completion on WoW Head for the first character I completed the quest on, I just completed the Glorious Campaign on my paladin and this is still show uncompleted.

Did you not bother with the Paladin Class Hall Quest but you have the Hearthstone for New Dal? You have to go get the starter quest ""......First go to New Dal and click the Trivial Quests button on your mini map (right click)....Go to the Purple Palace and speak to the young lady standing near the bookshelves...she will let you experience again the "birth" of New Dalaran. You will have to fly to where Karazhan is but you will see Dalaran right above it...Meet Khadgar just outside the Purple Palace entrance. Start your questline there...

edit: found it: go to the middle of dalaran port down and the quest was there

I (paladin) abandoned the quest chain when I was in the exodar because it was late and I din't feel like doing it again :S Now I can't find the quest that bringt me back? I killed the giant in the cave again - no luck... there is no quest in dalaran either.... any ideas?

Did this quest up to turning in Light's Heart to your order hall however, there's no update on picking up another quest to start 'an unclear path.' :( I've searched wowhead & not finding any answers post expansion to start the questline for Ravencrest's Legacy

For those who may still have problems. To get to the cave swim or fly out until you see Giblin Npc's swimming around in deeper water. Stick to the side with the land and as you swim further eventually you see rocks and the NPC's and swim toward the rocks but also aim down to go deeper and you should see the cave without needing much visual. If you are near the fatigue line, you went too far. Its just beyond the area you find the Star. If you arent able to find it stick to the surface and make sure to return to the surface before drowning. Drowning in that area is a bad time.

It's impossible to locate the cave with tomtom because of the broken zoning in the area. You just have to look for it.

If you can't find the quest just go to the center of the Dalaran, there is a small room, central ring acts as a portal and there is Khadgar waiting for you on the other side.

I was stuck on Paladin order hall campaign. No new quests anywhere and I didn't remembered a thing as I abandoned this questline years ago.

I'm a level 70 paladin who never did any of the pally class hall stuff. I'm dumb so I was confused about how to get it going, but on Krasus Landing I talked to Lord Maxwell Tyrosus and took the quest Seeking Guidance.

! Anyone who is having problems turning this in, I think I found the solution. When you get back to Dalaran and the Chamber of the Guardian, step on that glowing blue center in the middle of the room. Once you're in the room it teleports you to, do NOT go down the stairs. Go to the right of the stairs. The first room you'll come across has Khadgar sitting there for some reason, and you can turn your quest in. Happy questing, and best of luck <3

Description

<class>t <name>, thank you for coming. I have a matter of some urgency that requires your unique talents.

The Order of the Silver Hand have reported that an extraordinarily luminescent object has emerged from the Felstorm and is currently falling towards the coast of Suramar. What I find most curious about this occurrence is that the object was reported as having "cut a swath" through the Felstorm itself.

Will you investigate? There is a gryphon awaiting your arrival at Krasus' Landing.
