This quest is currently bugged as the NPC wont do anything when you speak to her.
If that happens to you, just relog and kill her again. Had to do it 6 times and it finally worked.

Warlocks - Spec out of Absolute Corruption or simply don't cast Corruption on Anarys Lunastre, and don't speak to him after the fight until your other DoTs have expired, or he'll despawn on your walk back to Ly'leth Lunastre.

If this happens, you can interact with the memorial again to try again.

Anarys is a male if you are a male and a female if you are a female it seems.

EDIT:
This is so that your disguise that you will use from then on out will match your own gender.

Not sure if it was my luck or something witch quest mechanic, but after 4 times i had to abandon quest and start over i just defeated Anarys in the place she spawn while staying next to memorial so she did not moved. :)

I tried to complete this quest 4 separate times, abandoning, relogging, etc. If anyone has any issues with Anarys not following you and you have a pet out, try dismissing the pet. This finally worked for me once I did that.

I'm pretty sure that it was luck but I completed this quest with my druid by dismissing the shapeshift. While I was in cat form, I failed 3 times. After that, I completed the quest just only with my troll appearance :)

Quest chain to Shal'Aran starts at Archmage Khadgar in Dalaran:
Magic Message - click Arcane Anomaly and watch the dialogue
Trail of Echoes - click the portal to Suramar. Follow the way, use your quest item Trail of Echoes at the marked areas and click Faint Arcane Echos. Kill Erasmus Moonblade and meet Thalyssra
The Only Way Out is Through - follow her and kill/interrupt the attacking Withered Thirster on the way (you can ignore the other types of withereds)
The Nightborne Pact - click Thalyssra (Video)
Arcane Thirst - go to the middle of Shal'Aran, kill the Eternal Tether and Keeper Selentia after that. Collect 6 Crystallized Ancient Mana
Shal'Aran - follow First Arcanist Thalyssra to the bridge. You can wait for her upstairs, she doesn't need you on her side while she is exploring the area

(The quest line took around 10-15 min)

Sympathizers Among the Shal'dorei - meet Silgryn near 39.2 71.3 (patrols)
The Masks We Wear - follow him to 40.3 71.3 and pick up the Enchanted Party Mask from the table. Use it to get the costume (Enchanted Party Mask) and talk to the Masqued Revelers. Take care of High Mage of the Duskwatch. Meet Ly'leth Lunastre and click the dialogue
Blood of My Blood - inspect the Memorial, summon and defeat Anarys. Click his dialoge option and return to Ly'leth Lunastre
Masquerade - use your quest item Mask of Mirror Image and get your Masquerade button

Still isn't working for me. 120 havoc Demon Hunter. Blizzard told me to come here after submitting a ticket. Re-logged, abandoned, switched spec. Everything. No idea what to do :(

Well, it is 4 years later and this quest is still bugged. I have tried everything suggested here and still will not work.
Dismissed pet, used auto attack to kill her.. no dots of any sort. have dropped it several times.. have relogged several times. Have left the area and returned.. Have defeated her on the memorial.. near the memorial, on her spawn spot.. even dragged her to Ly'leth before hitting her.
Really BAD business model not fixing important quests!

MY COMMENT FROM WOW FORUM ON THE QUEST AS WELL. 1/18/2020 BFA 8.3

EDIT: I got it to work. After days. I switched from prot to ret. got naked. equipped my legion ret artifact ashbringer. hit the tombstone. immediately targeted him, ran to the delivery zone. stunned him halfway between his spawn location and the delivery zone. kept running to Lyleth. and popped all my cooldowns on him as soon as he was standing next to silgryn. his health did not go all the way down, only to about 30% . it seemed as though “someone” cast Frost Dk Chains of Ice on him, there was brief dialogue. and the quest completed. thank chtulu.

The most frustrating thing that ive encountered in Wow in years. Theres no excuse for this old content to be bugged. this has been a well documented bug on WowHead for years now. why is this broken. why is there not a player work around? It has been 3 days that ive been messing around with this quest trying to get through it so i can finish the campaign on my paladin and get the mount. its ridiculous. I have 2 tickets open for legion class campaign quest bugs and my ticket response time went from 1-2hrs friday morning to 1 day 20 hrs saturday morning. no response yet. Ive tried every fix that ive found on comments etc. its awful.

Ignore everything in the other comments and this quest text as well, kite her next to her sister (without damage) and then deal just enough damage to lower her health bellow 50-30 or 10 % then her sister (Ly'leth) will capture her, otherwise she will just bug out, somehow and someone inside WoW decided to either leave the RNG make it work OR change the entire quest method without fixing the text, i just completed this quest (PTR) by taking her infront of her sister (while in combat) and lower her health to 5% to my surprise (after 20 attempts) the sister captured herself (i didn't defeat nor 'escort' anarys) and quest completed on it's own. side note: i used a demon hunter without DoTs and no pet.. so you might not want to ignore those points from the other comments though

make sure to use the portal back to Shal'Aran and relog after complete the quest, so the bugged Anarys is cleared from your game so you can proceed

Unfortunately, I can confirm that this quest is still bugged.

I submitted a ticket and got the following as a response:

Hello there!

Game Master here, thanks for reaching out. I understand you're running into some trouble with Blood of My Blood. I'd be happy to take a look into this for you.

After checking into it, this is something our developers are currently investigating. It may still be possible to complete the quest at the moment, although it is rather difficult. We do not have any for sure fixes or workarounds, so hopefully our developers will resolve any issues with the quest soon. There isn't an estimated time for when it would be changed, but if there is a fix you'll likely see it via future hotfix or patch notes.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to check into this for you, and I hope you have a good rest of your day.

Hopefully it gets looked into sooner rather than later, but at least they mentioned that it can still be completed if you're lucky.

If Anarys isn't following you after you defeat him and you can't complete the quest this is how you do it:

Abandon Quest. then re pick it up from Ly'leth.

interact with shrine > let Anarys do his dialogue > Acquire aggro from Anarys > stand next to the shrine and pull him over next to it and defeat him > talk to him > he follows you to Ly'leth > Profit $$$

* Note * if you go for the kill right where Anarys spawns it will bug out and he will not follow you over to Ly'leth. So make sure he comes to u but be careful because any dots could kill him before he dies next to the shrine and u will have to abandon quest and do it again.

Guys, I have solved it! Please read, and upvote! So I was struggling to complete this quest for an hour, tried all the suggestions, etc. What worked for me was:

- Accept the quest.
- Run to the Lunastre Memorial where you click it to make him spawn
- Kite him to Lyleth, you can go ahead and kill him.
- IMPORTANT! Before doing anything else, click on Lylethe. This will create a dialouge between them and the quest will auto-complete.

YOU CANNOT KILL HIM WITH ANY DOT REMAINING. Doing so will cause the NPC to bug out and not follow you.

Just hit him with a stick/spell to finish! :)

Stuck on this for a couple of days, tried everything from here and then started trawling the US and EU forums. Found this AND it worked for me. Credit to the original OP, hope it works for you guys too:

"A workaround has been found!

After reading these bug report posts and going to Wowhead (since GMs were telling people to go there and “try everything”) I did just that. Here’s what you need to do -

Attack Anarys as soon as they appear, don’t let them walk toward you.
Kite them back to the memorial then defeat them - do not talk to them!
Walk back toward Ly’leth and GO PAST HER a few feet to the tree.
Turn around, walk back toward Ly’leth.
The “capture” of Anarys will trigger and the quest will complete.

This has worked for several people on Wowhead in just the last few days, and it worked for me just a moment ago after 2 solid days of trying everything else. Good luck!"

Just to clarify what I did as a Guardian Druid:

- Click the memorial
- As soon as mob spawned, taunted (didn't attack and turned away as I have frontal trinket procs)
- Kited Anarys to Ly'leth, basically did a loop around her and went back to the memorial
- Used swipe to defeat her (no DoTs)
- Don't talk to the defeated Anarys, just walk to Ly'leth

This triggered the quest complete for me. Good luck!

Description

As my darling <brother/sister> has demonstrated, Elisande's decision to bring down the shield has sown unrest among the nightborne.
