I have not been able to pick up this quest Barros is not in my Garrison. I did find him in Stormwind but the he did not offer the quest. Anyone else having this problem?

This quest was available to me in my garisson right after I unlocked the Lion's Den hub by doing "The Assault Base". Start with the Iron Docks quest and just follow the quest line.

Could it be that you have to have learned all or most of the recipes in order for him to offer the quest? He does say,
"Commander! I've noticed you have been keeping up with your jewelcrafting"
It could also be that you need to learn all the Taladite recipes before you can get the quest.
Anyone have most or all the recipes but still cannot get the quest?

If you are like most, and have pushed your garrison campaign past the unfortunate passing of Baros Alexston, there is still hope!

His quest apparently is only a breadcrumb. You can just fly out to Aktar's Post and speak with Sun-Sage Chakkis and recieve the next quest in the chain, Mastery of Taladite.

I looked everywhere for this and could not find what to do. Baros Alexston was in my Garrison and Sun-Sage Chakkis was not offering anything. I then realised that I must have completed this quest earlier and not realised. If you click on the Apexis Gemcutter next to Sun-Sage Chakkis you can create gems :-)

To see if you've done this Gems of the Apexis quest, type this in the chat window:
/script print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(39195))
If it says "true" then you've completed it, "false" means you haven't. Horde: use 39175 instead of 39195, for the equivalent Gems of the Apexis quest.

To check the next quest in the chain, Mastery Of Taladite, use:
/script print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(39176))

To check the third and final quest in the chain, Ruined Construct, use:
/script print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(39177))

Weird ... If comes up FALSE for not having done the quest but Baros at my Garrison and Chakkis at Aktars aren't offering the quest ... Can't find it ! :(

If you wish to do this do this quest after baros has already died, you will need to find someone who has it in their log and party sync + share quest, you will then be able to turn the quest in normally

This breadcrumb quest has a separate horde and alliance version, however both are marked as complete once you've done one of them.

Find Sun-Sage Chakkis in Tanaan Jungle.

Description

Commander! I've noticed you have been keeping up with your jewelcrafting, despite all of this war going on. I find that to be most admirable.

I overheard some of the arakkoa discussing a gemcutting device that they believe is located within Tanaan Jungle. They got their information from one named "Chakkis."
