For this quest all you have to do is kill mobs while your friend, the shadow panda will search their bodies while you kill them.

So all you have to do is kill all the bugs you see till you got all 4 clues.
But be aware, they hit like a truck!

This quest bugged out on me. I got the first and second clue, no problem, but then Tai Ho stopped following me around. Despite massacring the camp twice, there was no third or fourth clue. Leaving the quest area (just the little mantid camp) and returning fixed the problem. Good luck!

I believe the hints are only on the boneslicers. I killed several of the other bugs in the area but all of my clues came from boneslicers. Good luck.

Tai Ho also said "No clues here... but I did find this." and threw me a Amber Medallion.

I really hate when blizzard puts something like this in and then fails to make sense. I don't get how the clues inter-relate at all.

Note that if you are doing this quest and your inventory is full, Tai Ho will not be able to toss you an and you will miss out on 5g worth of vendor trash.

I came here hoping to find a listing of the clues, since I managed to miss what the first one was, and they've not been posted yet. In an attempt to compile a list, these are the ones that I received (I can't say with certainty that they are always given in the same order, or that there are only ever these four stated, as I've done this quest only once so far).

Second Clue
Tai Ho says: Look at the size of these! This one is definitely a breeding male.
Tai Ho says: That means the mantid queen is involved in this...somehow.

Third Clue
Tai Ho says: His body - it's covered with scars. Old Scars.
Tai Ho says: Not just any scars, either. These were created by pandaren weapons.

Fourth Clue
Tai Ho says: Here it is! This is what we've been looking for!
Tai Ho says: Yak hair.
Tai Ho says: Come back to the camp when you are finished. We have much to discuss.

I remember this quest on my bear druid - it was no big deal. But on my shadow priest it was nearly impossible, as others mentioned, you get swarmed. What I finally did was to fly into the buildings and wait inside. One would come down, a few seconds later another would follow - kill the first one using your orbs, build orbs on the second one. Eventually I killed enough to finish "the motives of the mantid" and I continued by blowing up their weapons and supplies.

this quest was so annoying -_- wud try kill one (im only a hpala) and then 3 would randomly come from above and own me. How do they expect me to interrupt 3 sonic screams? ridiculous!

Swarms of sonic attackers make this a very difficult quest. Fortunately, you can move out of the way of the scream if you start moving when they start casting. Also, some of these mobs will chase you across the zone. I couldn't believe it. I wonder if that was intentional on Blizzard's part.

A relatively easy way to do this is to slide along the side to where the weapons destroy in, there is a little house there, and a side yard on the cliffs where it is safe to stand and there is decent space to fight. If you need to kite, this is great. Just watch and pull singles from the passing guards, bring them down to the field and SLAY THEM! The loc on the field is 55, 53. Careful, don't run off a cliff :-)

So I couldn't find any basic instructions for this quest, and I'm not one to read quests, so I thought I'd just say that you have to kill the bugs to get the clues. Only the boneslicer ones will give you clues. Some have said that the other ones CAN give you clues (and downvoted my original comment for it, so thanks guys), but the chance of that happening (for me, at least) isn't worth bothering with. Just go for the boneslicers. Your life will be easier.

Well that's extremely brave of you, Tai ho, but are you sure you want to take that risk? Perhaps you'd like to head back to camp instead, or just sit behind a rock quivering with fear?

No wonder pandas are dying out.

As an Ele Shaman this quest was a pain in the rear. I attempted it at level 88 and got owned. Came back at level 90 and still struggled. After an hour and a half of attempting to carefully pick one monster off a time, I finally completed it once I figured out the following.

For all the spell casters having trouble (like I did - 24g in repairs later), I think I figured out something that might help you.

Come into the area from the northern path. Their numbers seem to be a bit more sparse there so you should have an easier time of singling one out.

Whenever possible, target and single out a Boneslicer. They do NOT have the same magic locking abilities the Screamers do but their attacks are fairly strong.

I had to kill 11 total monsters to get all 4 clues. It likely varies but this is just an FYI.

These Mantids will swarm all over you, and Tai Ho is of little help. I somehow got through this quest and when complete still had a healthy group of Mantids after me. When I attempted to run, Tai Ho kept hitting them, so they just kept following me. I ended up running to the coast and jumping into the ocean, where they finally gave up and turned back.

If you kill multiple of them at once, then Tai Ho still only observes one of them, instead of all of them. Best to just pick them off one at a time to finish the quest faster.

The Shado-Pan wishes to know why the mantid are attacking so violently. We have our suspicions, but we cannot be sure. Furthermore, we do not want the mantid to know that we are investigating them.

That's where you come in.

I need you to kill the mantid of Kri'vess, in the north. I will lurk behind you in the shadows, and search for clues on their bodies.
