Watering can be done while mounted.

This quest can be done much faster if you keybind the watering button. It's the "Extra Action Button 1" keybind under "Action Bar Functions."

Once you have this keybound, you can use the mouse to run around while spamming the watering key, rather than keyboard turning while spamming the watering button with your mouse. Using this approach, I was able to water each group of vegetables 20+ times before she called out the next, allowing me to finish the quest on the third group of vegetables.

First off, this quest can be quite confusing.

-You can do this while mounted
-The vegetable she wants you to go to is USUALLY glowing
-If it isn't glowing and/or don't know what she wants watered, just wait for her to say a new one. There's no penalty. You can also only water in the proper spot, so spamming the button doesn't hurt you if it's the wrong crop anyways.
-Use the big button to water, when watering just ride through the crops spamming it until you have to change. Easily 15+ per vegetable for quest progress.
-Take extra care when watering her big melons

All of the previous are very helpful tips. One more - you don't have to move very far at all to be able to water more veggies in the plot. I completed it in 3 plots. It could probably be completed in less if you get one of the larger areas to water. You just move a step or two and water - it should count.

If you having problems finding where the crops are. They are in FRONT of her. And the go around a small hill to the North on the map. Now go spam that button. ^^,

I'm having an issue with this quest, the items she asks me to water aren't the ones that are glowing (e.g. she'll say carrots, but the turnips are glowing) and neither one of them can be watered.

Ok, I got frustrated riding all over that farm looking for the veggies, and read the comments here, and then found a very simple way.

1) Stand on the mound where the questgiver is.
2) When she tells you to water something, look for something to sparkle in a field nearby. You have about half a dozen different items you can see. If it's one you can't, just wait a few seconds. No penalty.
3) When you see a sparkle, ride to it and spam the watering button all over that area. Keep moving. You should get half a dozen points or more if you do it right.
4) When she changes the name of the veggies, see if you can see it from where you are, and if not, return to that mound and look around.

Don't do what I did which was to ride far away looking for stuff and getting attacked by killer bunnies. Also, "Bright Green Spinach" is actually pale blue!

Honestly, I'd recommend just waiting for her to request the Bright Green Spinach, Huge Carrots, or Huge Melons, as they're all right there next to her. Running around trying to figure out which crop is where and when is just confusing, and there's no meaningful time limit or penalty for NOT watering something.
Wait for a crop nearby to be called and spam the watering can while moving around that section until you're done.

Fran is one of those obnoxious asian "tiger mom" witches who are always shouting orders and never satisfied with what you do.

I had an Asian woman boss like Fran, what %^&*.

I hate you, Gardner Fran.

This quest is extremely picky, even following some of the advice given here. If you're not inside the patch for the required vegetables, it won't let you water. If you don't turn far enough from the last plant you watered, it doesn't count. And misclicking on one of your abilities, instead of the watering icon, can really slow you down. Doesn't help that some of the plants are big enough it's hard to navigate between them.

I'd agree with the other folks who say to just stay near Fran and pick up the closest plants when she calls them out. It's just too much of a pain in the asparagus to run all the way around.

If you tap your watering can fast enough, you can usually finish her quest off on the second base of plants, avoiding having to water the huge melons all together. This usually involves guiding yourself through her large plants with precisioned timing.

Once you begin, glide through the first section of plants, whilst tapping your watering can as quickly as possible!
Don't rush through plants too fast, but also, try not to go too slow!
If you reach the end of the first section before Fran tells you move on, then you're doing good. At this point you must turn around to hit section again, making sure it's good and wet before moving on. As you're doing this you will notice that the second section is right in front of you! Don't rush to it! Remember, take your time in the first section.

Continue gliding through the first base of plants. This is where the percisioned timing will into play.
If you get it correct, by the time you've traversed most of the first section it'll be time to hit the second section in which you've already prepared for. Fran will be sure to let you know when it's time, so don't worry about that.
Timing your locations will prevent any downtime when going from section to section.

Now it is time to hit the second base of plants. This will be where the climax of all of your hard work of water-can tapping will be!

Now that you've gotten all wet watering the plants first section, it's time to move to the second section.
Circle around her large carrots quickly, giving equal time to each one so that you don't over water one. If done swiftly, and precisely, you should be complete!

*NOTE*
You can set a keybind for mouse clicking so that you may macro this. That way you may use more than one finger to accomplish the task more proficiently.

My two tips, - Hope they assist.

1) took me until about 25/60 to suss out that they're all in a ring. - I was running back & forth trying to meet the ridiculous time limit, and only managing to squirt a little out each time. Once I realised they're in a loop it made getting from her melons to the other mounds much quicker.

2) only the vegetable in question sparkles. - If you think you're at the right one, and it's not sparkling, - you aren't.
