This quest seems to be a bit of a pain in the arse.

It seems like the only way to do it is to personally fly (or get summoned) to the Ruins of Lodearon (Undercity). One think I would note guys is make sure you have the quest item, and it has a roughly 2-3 sec cast, so hopefully you can get it off before some pesky Horde player comes over to gank you.

Wickerman is the big brown statue (not the NPC). Fly behind it and use the quest item. No guards aggroed.

If you're a Death Knight, use Death Gate to teleport to the Eastern Plaugelands, and then take the flight path to Androhal, Western Plaugelands. You'll pretty much only need to fly for 2 minutes from there. Beats having to fly all the way from SW.

In addition to what was said previously, there is a wide grey ledge behind the Wickerman. Land here, not on the ground. You will be at quite a distance from anyone. I got in and out with no problem. I can see how this quest would be VERY difficult without a flying mount.

Stealthed into the Ruins of Lordaeron as a lowbie (48) druid. Tried to target the Wickerman, but I couldn't - not as in "I don't know how to click on stuff." but as in "I clicked on the Wickerman and there was no response from the game, the Wickerman was not targeted as if I were clicking on some environmental element that is non-targetable." I tried to target him a couple of times, and I targeted several Wickerman Revelers, but was not able to target the Wickerman. So I went ahead and used the Dousing Agent, thinking it might auto-target. The Agent triggered, giving "use" feedback. Nothing happened. I tried to use it again, and I got a message "You don't have anything targeted." or words to that effect.

By then, the Horde noticed, and I was promptly killed. Thinking I was in the wrong place, I scouted out the Ruins of Lordaeron in wisp form, and found nothing I should have been targeting other than the untargetable Wickerman. I resurrected under the steps to the Silvermoon portal, stealthed, and managed to get out undetected.

I thought maybe I was in the wrong place, went to the area to the west of UC where they do the other holiday events, and was promptly detected and killed by abominations, but not before I saw there was nothing there for me work with.

So, I came here, to Wowhead, and everyone is saying that yeah, it's the big wicker man (named Wickerman, how could you miss it) right there in the courtyard and that they are doing the quest no problem. Is this the part where I smash my keyboard like Sabranic Silverdeth used to do?

Edit: I went back and stood on the toes of the Wickerman. Could not target him. Used the Dousing Agent, and it did its thing this time. I was promptly killed.

I was just there and flew on the ledge behind the Whickerman, I could see the skeletons of a bunch of people who did that before me. Threw the dousing agent and flew off before anyone spotted me.

Another way to get to Undercity would be to get on top of the Horde Zeppelin that heads to Undercity in Grom'Gol Base Camp in STV. It's important you land ON TOP of the zeppelin so the guards don't aggro you. Ride the zeppelin up. Happy burning!

If you can fly in behind the wickerman and land on the terrace its an easy quest. I did it at 03.35 so there was only 1 other player around and i avoid them. Never got any aggro from the guards.

A warning I realized though.... there are Horde that would have figured this out to get to SW from UC too. So you might want to check that there's no one riding on the deck before you land on the balloon...

As I mentioned in a previous post, this quest is going to be VERY difficult for anyone who cannot fly, particularly if you cannot stealth. You will have to enter a horde structure and make your way to the Wickerman and stay alive long enough to put out the flames with the dousing agent.

In order to help us out with this quest, I sent my Tauren in there to do a little snooping around. He reports that all you have to do is to enter Lordaeron where you will immediately see the Wickerman on the left.

There are plenty of NPC's around, but they will not bother you. You will not have to pass any guards, though one did appear while another Ally player took some shots at my Tauren and some other lowbies. Anyway, go up the stairs on the left, get behind the Wickerman (so as to be less visible), and do your thing, then hearth out.

The problem is, of course, other players. If you can't stealth you will never get passed any that might be there. I waited until about five in the morning my time and decided to send my 47 Ally Hunter in there. I left the Tauren in place by the Wickerman as sort of a lookout.

First, you have to get there. Not being able to fly makes this somewhat of a challenge. The closest FP is Andorhal and you just take the road west from there. At the border with Trisfal Glades is the Blockade, home to some big-time Horde NPC's and a Horde FP. Since they are not right up next to the road, you can shoot straight through there with no problem, but the next "checkpoint" on the road, Death's Watch Waystation, will not allow you to pass. Shoot through it, die and rez on the other side or avoid it by staying off the road at that point.

So I got my Ally Hunter all the way to the entrance of Lordaeron and logged onto the Tauren. Sure enough, there were two lvl 85's between me and the Wickerman. I waited around awhile and finally I could see no other Horde players. I knew that this was subject to change at any moment and decided to just charge in there no matter what.

It worked. I switched to the Ally Hunter and there were still no Horde players around. I ran up the steps behind the Wickerman and nailed him.

I recognize that not everyone will have a Horde alt that can spot for them. If you don't have one, you should. Having characters on both sides greatly widens your game experience and comes in handy for stuff like this.

If you don' t have one, I suggest waiting till the wee hours of the morning. Go up to the entrance to Lordaeron and press your "V" key. This will show you the bars of any Horde nearby on the other side of the wall. If you don't see any, go charging in there and, if you get killed, try to rez as close to the Wickerman as possible until you can get the job done.

Just accomplished this, basically did 'Stick Bombs Away' and logged out, as suggested above, and relogged in the graveyard. Striped down to me bra and kickers in the hopes of showing I was no threat (but really, no one cares) and swooped into Undercity on my land-stuck broom. Got killed upon arrival, but I ressed directly behind the Wicker so I was slightly hidden. Immediately casted Douse, and finished two seconds before a gaurd shot me. Took about 10/15 minutes. Grand so!

At first this was annoying because on my server there's always one Horde player standing guard ready to gank you. It is impossible to get close enough without other Ally players playing bait.

After yesterday though i've changed my mind and think it's fun! I got 4 weighted pumpkins on the heads of the Horde for the achievement and a player named Beefsteak put up a good fight :p He killed me before I could douse then I came back, successfully doused and threw a pumpkin on his head xD Only need 4 more races pumpkin'd and I'll have my title.

So kill two birds with one stone unless you just use Dalaran or other neutral grounds to throw pumpkins.

I'm so glad you can throw them from your flying mount o.o

I've just been landing on top of it (the head or shoulders) and dousing it. I've had no trouble. There's no guards or players ever on the roof. Of course, you can only get up there if you have Azeroth flying.

** Edit: Also, has anyone else noticed that this is slightly unfair on a PvE server? I've done this daily as both Horde and Alliance, and its definitely easier for the Horde. Granted the trip sucks either way but, the Horde's wickerman is actually IN the Ruins of Lordaeron, so you get flagged when you go in. But the Alliance wickerman is located outside of Stormwind, in Elwynn Forest. I've seen plenty of unflagged Horde just march right up, douse it, and walk off. Unfair!

As a lvl 60 Mage, I kept getting ganked. Best way I found was to fly in from the south (R in undercity on the map) until you see the bridge leading to the burning man. Drop into the water next to the bridge and swim to the wall next to the burning man. Pop the "juice" and fly off. Easy peasy once I figured that out. Hope it helps.

I did this as a 24 LEVEL just for the heck of it. :p

I made my way to the ruins yesterday afternoon, which really is a bad time because it's more crowded and there were lots of horde players guarding the area and killing alliance players. I then ran right into the area where the wickerman is, got killed, then ran from the graveyard back inside the ruins, and logged out as a ghost. I logged back on this morning and not one horde player was there! Early morning is the best time. Finished the quest and hearthed out of there.

This worked for me because I play on several different toons, so it was no big deal to log off and wait till morning on that particular toon. :p

If anyone considers doing this, there is a good place to log out at..... as you walk up the stairs inside the courtyard, right before you get to the top level, look down to your right and there is a small ledge to jump down onto. I jumped down there and went to the end (closest to the wickerman) and that's where I logged off. You can use your dousing agent right from that spot when you log back on.

On my server (at least in the evening hours) there are now generally 1 or more Horde players standing guard on the ledge, a half dozen or more on the ground (including behind the Wickerman), and several flying patrols around the area. I don't really know how on earth a lower level character without a stealth can do this, other than by just ignoring being attacked and making sure that they run as much as possible toward the Wickerman each time before they are killed, and are selective about respawing in to make the most whatever time they have before being noticed (Other Alliance players are a good distraction). Heck, even as a Druid and with the instant cast flight form at 85, I don't know how I'd do it without stealth without dying innumerable times.

But if you do manage to douse the Wickerman and are then killed - but find that the thought of getting killed another 4 to 7 times (or more) again as you attempt to leave the area is more than you can stand, you can easily extract yourself from the area without accepting rez sickness by simply running your ghost to the edge of the ocean (north from the graveyard is only about a minute away), to just over the edge into the "blue water" - just barely into the area where you start to fatigue. Wait the approximately 30 seconds until you "fatigue" to death and voila! Your body will now be where you just "died" as a ghost, rather than next to, under and around the 27 or more Hordies that are hanging around your corpse salivating over it, waiting to kill you again when you respawn. Run to the ocean where your body is now from the graveyard, and rez as normal.

Note that this method DOES garner you a repair bill unlike the PVP deaths- but it's a lot less "ugly" than taking the graveyard rez sickness debuff, and a lot faster than the half dozen (or more) spawn/run/gank/die cycles you might experience (at least on Borean Tundra) before you get far enough away to get away clean.

Edit -> The fastest way I've found to get there from Stormwind if you are high enough level to do so is to portal to Mt Hyjal, and fly to just east of the northern end of Orgrimar (about a minute and a half), and land on top of the Zepelin that goes to Undercity (usually a wait of a minute, two at most). Again, stealth helps you to not get noticed, but it's not necessary. If you approach from above no one on it can see you and if you time it right, intersecting it as it approaches the edge of the ocean just before it actually "blinks out", you can avoid entering Orgrimar proper and even if someone sees you approach and land on it, be out and away before they have a chance to do anything about it even if you are already flagged PVP.

I just did this on my 46 Mage. I used Lesser Invisiblility Potion when i got inside the entrance, ran to the Wickerman and doused him. I was promptly killed by a guard but oh well. I managed to get past several Horde with the Potion.

I am Alliance, lvl 61 Hunter. I flew to Chillwind Camp in the Western Plaguelands. Then used my own flying mount to fly to Undercity.

I just landed on the Wickerman, unmounted, used the Dousing Agent, mounted up and flew back to Chillwind Camp.

No PVP problems, no attacks from Horde mobs. Very easy to do.

I am lvl67 draenei hunter without cata, so no flying in Azeroth, and almost gave up on this quest, but then I saw the hint to log out after dropping the stinkbombs while on the broom.
To make it short, logout/login, I was exactly 1000yards away from the Wickerman,
so just galloped on my ground mount there, right to the entrance.
Spotted some guards. So, dismiss the pet, drink the invisibility potion (I am always packing at least one stack of this, if you are also dps without any disguise option, buy this from AH, usually very cheap), but carefull - you can't see other NPCs or players while under influence - just got behind the wickerman when the potion went off, completed quest and hearthstone back to Stormwind. Finished in 40 seconds, wasn't spotted, easy peasy.

I think with this method really also lowlevel toons should be able to finish it, also getting there isn't such pain in the arse, flying path to the nearest point takes about 3-4 minutes, then another 2minutes running there.
I tried it once couple of days ago, but as I was first time there, tried to find the entrance from the wrong side, went almost whole round, there were 2 guards outside, killed me instantly...At the graveyard I decided to resurrect, in the time I was able to hearthstone to SW some lvl50 horde killed me very easily ;).
I was really surprised how easy it was this morning. Don't overthink it, just go for it.

Also, if you are a low level trying to get it, here is m ytip (just did it and worked without any flaw).

First, you need to know that you MUST die at least once.

1) Run in Undercity and get killed by a guard near the Wickerman.
2) Release and run back to your corpse.
3) South of the wickerman, there is a platform with stairs; go under that platform.
4) Ressurect and use the quest item.
5) Hearthstone

Basically, unless you get ganked by hordies there, you shouldn't have any problem :)

As the beginning post is correct, the best time to go there, though, is early in the morning realm time. Otherwise, all the Horde camp out there tagging the poor saps trying to complete the quest. Priest, Mages, and Locks love to hover high tagging folks off their mounts. I sat back and watched the bodies fall. Stupid Pally thought he could do the same and *SPLAT*! (Bubbling didn't work did it, FAIL!)

You have to get yourself all the way to the Ruins of Lordaeron. As mentioned, this can easily be accomplished by logging out during the stink bomb quest, but the information on the page is still incorrect.

I did this quest with a level 7 gnome. It's easy to do with a lower level character, although good timing won't hurt.

1. Make sure you have your Hearthstone set to the Inn you wish to return to at the end of the quest.
2. Take both the "Stink Bombs Away!" and this quest, and do "Stink Bombs Away!" first.
3. Once you complete "Stink Bombs Away!", log off of your account.
4. When you log back in, you will be at the Scarlet Monastery Graveyard, which unfortunately is quite a ways away. Make your way to Undercity, avoiding Horde guards along the way. It is best to go slightly to the right of the quest arrow, because the entrance can't be hit directly.
5. Once on the road to Undercity, prepare to dash toward the Wickerman once you get inside the entrance. Getting as close as possible is important, because you aren't going to make it on the first try.
6. Run back to the Undercity from the graveyard. If you can, get directly behind the Wickerman before resurrecting. If not, get as close to the Wickerman as you can.
7. Once behind the Wickerman, resurrect and start dousing as quick as possible. You may get killed before you get it done.
7a. If you did get killed before completing the quest, run back to your body and try again. Timing is important, do this as quick as possible.
8. Once quest complete, you don't have to go back to your body, just ask to live at the graveyard, and use your Hearthstone to go back to the Inn.

I did the Horde quest as a level 20 Goblin and that was a lot easier. Good luck!

Another WOW horde programmers getting there way again I see. It pisses me off where they put the scarecrow well within the borders of undercity. while alliance are forced to flag up pvp just to do the quest while the horde can simply land at there leisure and use the quest item. I know this is a bit of a QQ but its simply annoying getting ganked at undercity trying to complete the quest while back home OUTSIDE the gates the horde use there quest item looks at you and smiles then emote a /wave and mounts up and rolls. complete BS. get your head out of your arses horde lovers and at least try and make it fair and even.

Despite the massive imbalance between horde and ally on my server, it's really difficult to make it into the horde's wicker man, not because there are guards (cause there are), not because what few active horde there are actively camp out there (cause there are lots on holidays), but because some of those darn horde actually read the ally comments and hints for the same quests. I was killed twice by two different horde camped out on top of the headd and on the ledge behind the wickerman. But you know what? I still got it, cause (mwahahaha) I hid in one of the alcoves on the ledge behind the wicker man, res'd when the horde on the ledge was away, and cast invisible on myself until i was ready to throw. Ha!

My partner had the best thought tonight: the wicker man is a solid object. She landed on the back of it's shoulders, doused the flames, mounted up and flew away. Total deaths: zero!

It is tall enough that the pile of folks on the ground can't get range with most of their attacks, so you have a vastly higher chance of escaping alive than any other way.

For some strange reason, this quest is available once you hit level 10. Good luck getting getting anywhere close to the Ruins of Lordaeron at level 10 without dying at least a dozen times.

Ok I'm not sure if the guard wanders or not, I assume he does because he wasn't there the 4th time I resurrected. After being killed 3 times by the guard I found the best spot is the ledge behind the wickerman, even if the guard is there it should put you far enough away. Bind the dousing agent to a key & as you resurrect just spam the key, get the quest completed & hearthstone out.

This is very easy to do.

Farm up a Cracked Talisman.

Fly to Lordaeron and dismount above the Wickerman. Use the Crack Talisman as you land. Douse the Wickerman and then hearth away as the Horde try to throw everything they have against you, all to no effect.

It's quite fun to do.

Paladins, if there are gankers about, take the Glyph of the Righteous Retreat. Land on the Wickerman's shoulders, and spam the following macro.

If you're alliance and sick of getting ganked doing this quest, pick up a Cracked Talisman Cracked Talisman from Jade Forest before heading to Undercity. Drop into the "water" next to the wickerman, pop the talisman, douse the thing, and then fly out or hearth. All while the talisman prevents you taking any damage. Only downside is the talisman only has 3 charges, so every 3 days you'll have to get a new one.

Call me Captain Obvious if you like, but this quest is going to be a lot easier if you wait until Hallow's End is almost over. Just like Alliance, the Horde is going to be standing around the their wickerman en masse at the beginning of the festival. Partly to accept and turn in the other festival quests, and partly because they know Alliance players will be attempting to get close.

They'll get bored with just sitting around after a few days.

Not saying there won't be any Horde players around then, but a whole lot less.

Looking for the easiest way there and back? (that doesn't involve an exploit)

Use the griffin and fly to Fort Livingston in Northern Stranglethorn Vale.
Fly to Grom'Gal Base Camp, (horde Stranglethorn city)
When the north most zeppelin comes in, land ON TOP of the zeppelin, this is important. and will not flag you.
When you are nearing the city, you can disembark from the top, fly to the Wickerman, douse him, and if no griefers nail you, then mount up, and catch the same zeppelin back. Also with new CRZ, when you disembark the zepplin you auto unflag.

There is an easier way for lower level characters to complete the quest without being one-shot by those pesky horde people:

Fly or walk in and die at the feet of the statue;
Behind the statue are stairs leading up to a ledge. Behind the stairs is a small hallway leading down;
Enter the hallway and walk till you are positioned behind the wickerman;
Resurrect;
Do your thing and hearth out. Worked for all of my lower level characters.

By far the easiest way to do this quest if you're having trouble with Horde campers:

1. Go to Jade Forest and kill one of the NPCs to get a Cracked Talisman. (There is a portal right there in Stormwind. From the portal, go slightly northeast to find the NPC you seek. Kill him and fly back to the portal in Paw'don Village to get back to Stormwind. The full trip takes maybe a few minutes at best.)

2. Fly in and land next to the Wickerman, pop your new item. You have 20 seconds.

3. Quickly use the quest item. Hearth out while laughing at Horde campers attempting to make a dent and failing.

4. Turn in your quest and profit. :)

Fastest (and most convenient) way to get to undercity for alliance is to do the "bombing the undercity" daily hallow's end quest (you get it from the same NPC). After you throw the 25 bombs log out while still on the broom instead of flying back to stormwind. When you log back in you'll spawn at a graveyard (alive) right outside Undercity.

Save time running your daily Hallow's Eve quests by employing this method:

Fly to Undercity on Gretchen Fenlow's broomstick and complete dropping 25 of 25 stink bombs for Stink Bombs Away!.

¡DO NOT PRESS "RETURN TO STORMWIND"!

Instead, "Logout" to the character screen and then reload your character. You will respawn by Brill alive in the graveyard.

Jump on your Magic Broom and extinguish the Horde's wickerman. You'll probably be attacked by camping PvP Hordies, but hopefully you'll be able to mount up before they can knock you down.

Equip your Cloak of Coordination and turn in both quests.

Apparently, the ability to log out just after dropping all of your bombs in the Stink Bombs Away! quest is back in the game. When I did this on my level 36 monk and logged back in, I was in a graveyard near Scarlet Monastery. I hugged the wall of the Ruins and turned left just inside the entrance as suggested. As other posters said, the area is guarded and usually has a few players as well, but it only took me one corpse drag. I was able to rez in the horrifying green canal behind the Wickerman, which is below ground level and so slightly out of sight. About a half a second into hearthing I was sapped and killed but who cares! It was fun :) I rezzed back at the graveyard and took the damage. Good luck!

On my server there were about 7 lvl 100 Horde on top of it, about 10 flying around killing any ally they see, and more than 50 on the ground. I could've used the Cracked Talisman, but I was too lazy. Good luck to anyone willing to try this quest!

If you can fly, land on the grey ledge right behind the Wickerman. 62.6, 68.8 The grey ledge is below the walkway and above the green goo. Land next to the wall and the guard will not notice you.

EDIT I got flagged as PVP when I threw it today, so you do have to watch out for horde players, heh. BUT. today, there was a horde player sitting on the walkway and I still went for it anyways. As the player could not hit me directly, I had a spell cast on me once I got off my flying mount but I could still remount and fly off. So a little damage but no big deal. funny that I entered and left combat about 4 times just during that brief moment of dismounting, throwing, and mounting again. I can see Blizz having a hand in this like breaking combat while throwing or something.

So my server had about a hundred horde players on the look out- and yes, I'm being completely serious. I did it as a hunter, and I was killed coming over the roof from the East. It turned out to work alright, because I was able to rez inside the tunnel leading to Undercity. I used camouflage to get over to the base of the Wickerman (it took about three cooldowns because it's only half stealth when you move) and did it from the bottom. On Whisperwind where I was playing, the horde were mainly looking out for fly-ins so it took them about 7 seconds to notice me, by which time the cast was up and I could die in peace and take the rez sickness.

NOTE: when I did it, there did not seem to be any pushback on the casting, so damage should not affect you. Stuns, however, will,

So obviously hunters have camouflage (you can also glyph it to make it full stealth, but it halves your move speed) Just keep watching the cool down so you can punch it the instant it lifts.

Druids and rogues have stealth, so they can do what they do.

With Greater Invisibility, a mage should be able to make it out of the catacombs and to the statue.

Pally bubble.

Priests can use Spectral Guise to throw off the horde long enough to get close, but it'll probably be tight.

I would really recommend an Invisibility Potion (requires level 37, lasts 18 seconds) which should be enough time to get from the catacombs to the base of the statue, but the cooldown is ten minutes, so make sure you prep.

Another option to get there is to befriend a high level mage (or be one) and have them use Ancient Portal: Dalaran. Be sure to have your slow fall spell or item ready or, better yet, be on your flying mount when you click the portal or you will fall to your death.

This was pointed out to me by a guildmate, Tinkerbell-ScarletCrusade.

This is for PVE realms and assuming you can fly.

1) You'll want to come to the Wickerman from the EAST. You won't be flagged as you fly in.

2) Land on the wall just to the east of Wickerman.

3) Fly and land on the Wickerman.

I thought he was joking at first, but I tried it and in worked. Up to and including after using Dousing Agent, I was still unflagged.

Unfortunately I dallied for a second longer than necessary, became flagged and was killed.

I just did this today as a level 6 mage, and found a spot that works beautifully. As you enter the Undercity Wickerman area, if you head left for the stairs next to the wickerman, (and die at level 6, obviously) you can resurrect under the stairs! There's a little tunnel there that puts you right next to the wickerman's foot. The guards do not notice you there, giving you all time you need to throw the dousing agent. Then you can hearth out or, heck, even explore the little tunnel into the slime if you want!

Easiest way to do this if the wickerman is being camped by a horde:

Join a realm hopping group (hopefully to a realm where there arent any camping).
Land behind the wickerman's legs on the ground.
?
Leave raid group.
Use Dousing Agent
Mount up and run like hell.

Not only is the Horde Wickerman inside one of their cap cities, with guards and players around it ensuring corpse runs, Blizz has added the Wickerman Guardian as yet another obstacle for Alliance players to overcome? Whereas my Horde alt can still just fly up to, douse and hearth next to ours without even getting flagged for pvp. smh

The logout trick after dropping bombs seems to have been plugged. I logged out this morning and when I logged back in I was unmounted and inside Undercity !

I promptly got back on a mount and flew out of there but I was flagged and lucky not to be attacked.

Good thing I also knew my way out of there too.

As level 80 I just flew in from Andorhol and landed on wickerman's head and threw the Dousing agent, which was successful but then was one shoted by abomination guard. Had to take rez sickness at GY .

do this at 5 am before work and you should be safe. I plan on using my Stormwind Portal Stone/stormwind-portal-stone and pop out of there in half a second.

Dont forget to get your instant mount magic broom . POP and you are flying.

As of 10/23/2016 there seems to be TWO Abomination guards, level 110+. They have a killer range with their hooks so even as a level 80 and flying, this quest is not the easiest to complete.

As of 7.0.3 If you are under 110 but you have flying (especially the Magic Broom), you're going to be able to do this by landing in the slime water behind the Wickerman. Once you dismount, you can cast and remount in peace, as long as you didn't aggro anything while flying in!

As advized here (thank you very much!) I logged out after completing the stink bombs away quest. After logging in again I flew to the back of the wicker man. Or so I thought because I was killed before I could use the dousing agent. The graveyard didin't have a spirit healer (the healer was near the wicker man). So ran back to corpse, got behind wicker man, rezzed and doused and no problems there :)

If you achieved "Gold time" in Pandaria´s Challenge Mode in Scarlet Monastery, you will have the teleport in your General tab of the Spellbook. 8h CD, u can do it everyday with no effort, 20 sec flight from there to Wickerman. Presto.

A slight caution about using the Magic Broom to land on the Wickerman: You may have noticed that flying mounts have different landing and walking characteristics; not meaning the animations, actual in-game effects. Some flying mounts walk down the ramp in Northrend Dalaran, no problem, others have slight issues. When you land to tap a resource node, some flying mounts have more of a tendency to give you the "You're <still> flying" message than others. This Magic Broom mount has about the worst "You're not really landed" characteristics that I've seen.

Why this became important: Trying to complete A Time to Lose for Rotten Hallow, hotkeying the Dousing Agent to douse before I die; I found that landing using the Magic Broom just did not work; I could not douse before I died; I was not "landed" on the wickerman. I switched to some other mount on the fourth attempt, and it worked, first time.

Hey guys!

This is very easy if you are Alliance - especially if you have flying, however, this is not a requirement.

1. First, you need to do the stink bomb quest in Undercity - once done, log out, wait a few seconds and log back in. You will be ported to the newest graveyard. Mount up and off you go to douse the Wickerman.

2. Second, you need to get in front of Wickerman (the wickerman should be "facing you"). I'll assume you are flying - to your right next to the wickerman is a sewer entrance (to his left) - fly right in. You won't be dismounted while in the sewer, so continue into the sewer until you are in a small room with no sewage in there.

3. You can douse the Wickerman from the room through the wall. The horde cannot see you and guards will not come here. Alternatively, you can douse the wickerman from the exit from the room (this will be next to the wickerman from the other side than the sewer) - guards should not attack you here either, although the players might notice you.

4. You can HS away or fly right out through either of the two sewer entrances.

If you do not have flying, just die close to the sewer and ress inside!

For those of you trying to attempt this without flying:

It will involve at least one death. Maybe two.

Get as close to the Wickerman as you can. You will be killed.
Do the ghost run to your corpse.
Go up the stairs and drop off right behind the burning Wickerman so that you are between him and the wall.
Resurrect and hit the button to douse him.

Sometimes you might not get close enough the first time to resurrect in the hidden sweet spot. In that case it will require one more ghost run.

1) Fly there
2) Hover over the green water next to the wickerman (stay high to go undetected)
3) Dismount in air and land in water
4) Activate dousing agent (hotkey it for speed-no need to get out of water)
5) Mount in water and take off (broom mount is awesome for this (small and quick mount)

Ok folks, we all know by now that you can just Log Out after completing the stink bombs quest if you wanna go extinguish the horde's wickerman.

BUT...
What you may not know is that the green goo floating around is a tunnel system you can use for a quick getaway.

Fly very high after logging back in and find the wickerman on your map.

What you want to do is head straight down and land almost directly behind him and put out the flame ASAP for obvious reasons!
Just a hair to the left of him, when viewing from the rear, is a place you can land and douse. I would again recommend doing this as fast as possible.
Once done, you are probably already getting hit by rude and angry horde so BACK UP into the green slime (water really) and head to your left.

I didn't have time to see which direction as in N<S<E<W, but from behind the wickerman, just back up, drop down into green ooze and head left. You will swim into a place where there are no guards and you can rise out of the green water. *There is a chance that there might be players there, but it's a guard-free area.

Pop your mount, preferably a Magic Broom for insta-mount, fly straight up and you are done!
If I get a chance to try to find some images or coordinates for this to be more accurate. But if you try to mount a Non-Magic Broom where the wickerman is, you might as well start killing as many horde as possible before you die a horrible death!

I've found it remarkably easy to do this by using a flying mount and landing on the Wickerman itself. (You don't take damage by doing so.) The abomination has only seen me once since the event started.

I think this quest should be made completely unavailable in PvE servers and in expansions where lore wise both factions are at peace. Seriously it would be a cause of war if a horde randomly showed up outside the very gates of stormwind as they lodgically could go for something higher than a scarecrow like ANDUIN'S HEART! #STORMINDNEEDSBETTERDEFENCES

As for BfA and players like me that are struggling to get to the statue - if the statue is nowhere to be found you're probably on the present (BfA) timepattern and you first need to speak to Zidormi (69 / 63) and take you to the past in order to see the statue. Hope it helps

The Undercity is covered in the Blight right now but Zidormi is here to help yet again! She's stood next to a tree at 69.45, 62.80 and will let you view Tirisfal Glades as it was before the Battle for Lordaeron.

You can talk to her again afterwards to go back to seeing the Blight covered top layer of Undercity if you'd rather see it uninhabited for whatever reason.

Here I was, looking forward to the fact that because of war mode's introduction in BfA, I would finally be able to do this quest without the threat of PvP being forced upon me. Boy, was I wrong. You still are able to be attacked by Horde players, so heads up. This quest between the factions is still imbalanced as always.

At first speak with Gertrude Fenlow to get on broom that will take you on correct location. Over ther use skill 1 to drop bombs. Back with quest to Gretchen Fenlow.

2. Clean Up in Stormwind

Pick Up this Quest from Gretchen Fenlow She is outside Stormwind in Elwynn Forest 32 50. On this quest you need to go to Stormwind to find and remove 10 stink bombs. Is eaase to see them for clean up use Arcane Cleanser after finish back to Her.

3. A Time to Lose

Pick Up this Quest from Keira She is outside Stormwind in Elwynn Forest 32 50. On This Quest you need to travel to Ruins of Lordaeron before get there speak with Zidormi in Tirisfal Glades 69 63 to go to the past ( i couldn't done it on present time ) then fly to Ruins of Lordaeron 62 68 land on the Wickerman shoulder and use Dousing Agent. Now you can back to Gretchen Fenlow.

4. A Time to Gain

Pick Up this Quest from Celestine of the Harvest She is outside Stormwind in Elwynn Forest 32 50. Use the bonfire (is behind you 33 50) in front of the Wickerman.

Fastest way (besides logging off during bombing run) is:

1. Dalaran Hearthstone
2. Teleport pad in middle of Dalaran to "Chamber of the Guardian"
3. Portal to Dalaran Crater
(Important! Use your Magic Broom so you don't fall to your death)
4. Talk to Zidormi to travel back to time (Chat bubble on map. NE of Undercity)

For 2019 Hallow's End in order to do "A Time to Lose" Quest you have to fly or make your way up to Tirisfal Glades when you get there go to 69.2 62.9 and talk to Zidormi to turn back time before the seige after that make your way into Lordaeron and douse the hours wickerman. Have fun!🧟‍♂️😱

Some Horde PvP-players think it is funny to kill PvE-players at their Wickerman. Last time I did this quest. I see it as a PvP-quest from now on. I had a repair bill of 144 gold for 3 lousy Tricky Treats. And to top it off, there are also Wickerman guards NPC's that attack you now (2019). Horde's beeing favored here, but we have the Honeyback Harvester mount to make up for it.

This quest is relatively simple if you have flying. Just fly in, land directly behind the wickerman, between him and the wall, pop douse, pop the insta broom and scarper! Done this a few times now and seem to get away with it each time. But, maybe i just got lucky.

As of October 2020 the easiest way for Alliance to do this is to start the stinkbomb Undercity quest, drop all 25 stinkbombs then wait until you are in an out of the way place and log out. Wait a few seconds then log back in, you will be in Undercity. Just mount up and fly out of the sewers.

If you're flying, the best spot to douse the wickerman is from on his shoulders, keeps you away from all the mobs: land, douse, remount and you're off!

So as of 27 October 2020, this quest may be impossible for you to complete as Alliance on a newly leveled 50. The problem is that you need to talk to Zidormi in TG to switch to the old timeline in which the Wicker Man exists, but you won't be able to see her until you've done the Battle for Lordaeron scenario.

And you may not be able to start The Hour of Reckoning that starts the BfL chain if it didn't automatically give you the quest and if talking to the Hero's Herald by the board outside the SW AH won't give it to you either. It's possible that if you picked up that quest at say level 10 and abandoned it, then that might cause the problem, or some interaction with Chromie's timelines from leveling, I'm not really sure.

I don't know if being grouped with someone who has switched to the other timeline might help?

This is currently preventing people from completing the Hallows End stuff on Alliance. There are no issues for Horde as far as I know.

So why exactly is the talking to Zidormi to go back to the past listed as optional? You clearly cannot do the quest otherwise and as a new player this $%^& is actually frustrating. How am I supposed to know that part of the quest that clearly states is optional --(Optional)-- isn't actually optional? Like what? Flew around for about half an hour before I thought that maybe the "optional" part is bogus.

I just want to say how ridiculous this quest is for the Alliance, and how much it causes me to despise the Horde and the Horde-licking that goes on in this game. It's unreasonable, unfair, and not at all fun.

This quest, along with "Stink bombs away!" (both sends you to undercity), are currently bugged for several alliance players.
Zidormi is nowhere to be found. If you try to go to undercity, you'll die from the gas. Unable to change the timeline as zidormi is not outfront of undercity where she should be.

UPDATE TO PHASING ISSUE:

The solution involves;

Tick the 'trivial quests' marker on your spyglass next to your mini-map.
Open the map in Stormwind (for alliance) and see if there is a yellow quest titled "Tides of War".
IF YES - Visit the hero's call board in Trade District and accept the quest from the NPC stood to the left of the board.
Travel to Stormwind Keep and complete the quest by listening to a roleplay scene.
Accept the quest "The Nation of Kul Tiras" and travel to Stormwind Harbour to hand the quest in.
After handing in the quest, don't pick up the new one, speak to the same NPC and click "skip this scenario".
You should be teleported to Boralus and from this point you should not need to complete any more quests. Check your map in the Trisfal Glades zone to see whether Zidormi now appears on your map within that location.

If not, check that you have completed these other steps;

Complete the legion introductory quests by skipping the scenario for that expansion too. You should get teleported to Dalaran (similar to the BFA style of introduction).

Abandon any BFA quests that may relate to phasing

2023 - Ignore the blue circle. The Wickerman is located outside at 62.46, 68.24. Just land on top of it, douse it, and fly away. Easy peasy. You do have to visit Zidormi first to go back in time.
