In order for this quest to become active:

1) Enlist both the Shadow Wardens and the Druids of the Talon.
2) Complete the quest Calling the Ancients.
3) Finish all the regular dailies.

I'd been not turning in Fire in the Skies, in order to get a daily bombing run for the Death From Above achievement. And then trying to figure out why the quest wasn't activating for me...

It looks like the only way to get access to this particular daily is to only do the bombing runs every other day. :(

Witherbranch and Sira Moonwarden are here to help you kill the Ancient Firelord.
If you die, like I did, just wait for the others to kill it. You still get quest credit.

I've unlocked both Shadow and Druid and completed Calling the Ancients today to get access to this quest. I do the Shadow dailies and got this one after completing their spire dailies.

Just did this for second time with a hunter. Taramina is right, keep moving and avoid creeping fire. I stayed for a couple more rounds just to see what the shadow gates do. They simply move you from one gate to another. I would assume that this is to enable you to quickly get out of the fire but be aware that they will also move you into a worse spot and you die! The phrase "jumping from the frying pan into the fire" comes to mind.

I opened up this quest this morning and thought I would actually do what the quest giver told me to for a change. I assumed what he was saying was that if I threw myself off the edge a bird would catch me and take me to the quest (like with the other daily). Dont be stupid like me (I died from the fall) ignore what the NPC says, just make your way to the quest on land without jumping off anything :)

I got the spider boss. It spawns little spiders constantly that slowly move towards you. Just keep moving I dont think its posisble to kill the spawns quick enough to stay fighting the boss all the time. Let the NPCs do most of the work and help out when you manage to get some distance between you and the spawns.

according to what i'm reading here it is impossible to have the Fire in the Skies bombing run quest and the Strike at the Heart quests at the same time, but i currently have both quests in my quest log... not sure if this is some kind of get lucky bug, but i'm not handing in either quest until i have completed the associated achievment for them

I just saw this today but if one person doing this quest got it from the druids and another from the wardens, both a warden and a druid of talon will show up to help Witherbranch. I've only noticed the warden before now.

There are 2 daily quests: this one and this. This one is given if you did the druids of the Talon area, the other if you have done the Shadow Wardens area.

For anyone thinking about reaccepting this quest for the achievement:

By Mattador on 2011/08/11 (Patch 4.2.0):
You don't have to abandon quest to be able to do particular part of achievement. If you have quest complete you can still talk to ancient, start the fight and get proper kill.

So I've unlocked all the attacks in the Molten Front and am looking to gain the Ready for Raiding II achievement... What are the minimum dailies I need to accomplish in order for this daily to become active? :P

Since you chose to help the Druids of the Talon today, your helpers are Witherbranch and Thisalee Crow. Somehow you periodically end up with circles of swirling wind on the ground - nobody seems actually to cast anything. Stepping into one gives you Convalescence of Winds, and so jumping sends you flying through the air, to help you escape from whatever fiery hell is on the ground. You gain Convalescence of Winds until you land, and take no fall damage. Or, especially if you're ranged, just stand in the circle and revel in the awesome haste buff. The Shadow Wardens' version of Strike at the Heart has a different escape mechanic - shadow gates you can port between. If you're having trouble, just stay out of the fire and stay alive - your helpers are pretty tough.

To get this quest you need to have to have progressed far enough with the Firelands Invasion to have completed Calling the Ancients (as previously stated), and you have to do at least nine other quests today:
* Burn Victims
* Hostile Elements
* General Taldris Moonfall's other quest of the day (Breach in the Defenses, The Dogs of War, The Harder They Fall, or Traitors Return)
* Rayne Feathersong's quest of the day (Aggressive Growth or Wisp Away)
* * Into the Fire (General Taldris Moonfall will also offer The Forlorn Spire at this point for the Shadow Wardens, but you don't want it - you can only help one group each day)
* * * Fire Flowers
* * * Flamewakers of the Molten Flow
* * * * Arthorn Windsong's quest of the day (Singed Wings or Territorial Birds)
* * * * Morthis Whisperwing's quest of the day (Fire in the Skies, Peaked Interest, Starting Young, or possibly even Mother's Malice but I've never seen that one)

The Shadow Wardens' version requires two fewer quests, so if you're in a rush and only care about Ready for Raiding II, you may want to do that side instead.

For players, such as myself, who finished the entire quest-line, completed quite a few achievements, left, but then came back a while after to finish up the rest of the achievements and found themselves wondering which and how many of the available quests they needed to complete to reach certain achievement related dailies.

Behold- the bare minimum!
You must complete these everyday (In order to reach the quests for: Ready for Raiding II
Rayne Feathersong: (Aggressive Growth/Wisp Away)
Captain Irontree: Burn Victims
General Taldris Moonfall: Hostile Elements and (Breach in the Defenses/The Dogs of War/The Harder They Fall/Traitors Return)

You must then choose one of the two quests offered by General Taldris.
You can do either, it's simply prefrence as they both lead to the necessary quest for: Ready for Raiding II)
The Forlorn Spire or Into the Fire

If you choose: The Forlorn Spire.
You can ignore all the quests, to proceed (other then: The Wardens are Watching which will continue the chain.)
1. The Wardens are Watching
2. Enduring the Heat
3. Strike at the Heart (i.e. Our Quest for Ready for Raiding II)
Important: If You don't get credit for the kill in the achievement tracker then abandon the quest and re-grab it!
Note: This Quest is Indeed a Daily (Even though Wowhead displays this version (offered by Shalis Darkhunter) as being a non-repeatable Quest.)

If you choose: Into the Fire.
You can ignore any of the quests in the immediate area other then Thisalee Crow's Quests to proceed.
1. Both of Thisalee Crow's Quests

Flamewakers of the Molten Flow
Fire Flowers- Note: You do not turn this quest into her; the quest ends back on the surface, so you must take the tunnel back up to turn in this quest. When you turn this in, there will now be offered more quests.

You can ignore any of the quests in the immediate area other then Morthis Whisperwing's Quest.
3. Morthis Whisperwing's Quest- Note: You can turn this quest into him or into Skylord Omnuron, whom you need to travel to next to obtain the next quest.
4. Strike at the Heart (i.e. Our Quest for Ready for Raiding II)
Important: If You don't get credit for the kill in the achievement tracker then abandon the quest and re-grab it!

The Into the Fire version is far more tedious and time consuming in my own personal opinion.
Choosing Into the Fire also has a chance to backfire as completing this method two days in a row will result in Morthis Whisperwing's Quest being Fire in the Skies which will not allow you to obtain Strike at the Heart for that day.

If you're going for the achievement as a hunter, do the following:

Send pet, tag the boss. Run away. No, seriously. Just run off down the ramp, and use Kill Command or whatever now and then. Go make a sandwich. Only stay in range enough for the pet not to despawn and you're fine.

Your pet's damage counts as yours as long as you tagged it, and you will get the achievement credit without ever getting in range.

If you are having trouble completing the achievement for this quest called Ready for Raiding II, do this:
1. start the quest like you always do
2. if you get hit by a special attack from the boss leave the area and abandon the quest
3. run back to quest giver and take the quest again
4. go back to the thing you are supposed to kill (it should still be there getting tanked by the tree thing)
5. wait until its about to die (may take a couple of minutes)
6. when the thing is at a low health %, burn it down and you'll get the credit for that part of the achievement

(if the thing is not there when you return, you either left it with too low health and the NPCs killed it or blizz has fixed the bug)

If you should happen to die while fighting and the Lieutenant of Flame and it is nearly dead itself do not release spirit wait for the npc to finish it off and you will recieve credit for the quest.

I have a question. I have received this quest but cannot get to it. Now I haven't finished Aggra's Elemental Bonds:Fury quest. I have abandoned it and when I go into the area it wants me to pick it back up again. Do I have to complete this quest to be able to do the Strike at the heart quest? And is there any tips for getting the Aggra's Elemental Bonds: Fury quest completed? I have tried and failed numerous times.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't seen THIS problem mentioned yet... I tried to do this daily today and was unable to get the QUEST itself to register completion. Went over to Witherbark, got killed the first time (squishy mage, what can I say?), rez'd and came back, and killed the Lt. No quest completion. Deleted quest and grabbed it back, tried again, killed LT, no completion. Did the same twice more, and was unable to get the quest completion at all. Anybody got any ideas?

If you're a ranged class and he keeps evading, try standing right on top of him. Then your attacks will work.

If you're doing this at max level (110), make sure you allow Witherbranch to make his move and start the attack on the boss first. If you don't let the script run for a little bit it bugs out and nothing happens.

If the bug occurs, just abandon the quest and go back and pick it up again.

So I'm pretty frustrated with this quest. I've never seen it available and I'm almost at my 150 Marks. The quest chain always ends at Enduring Heat and then nothing. I've gone to the area in the case I'm supposed to get it from there and neither the General or Witherbark give me the option to start the charge. What am I doing wrong? Seriously, I've NEVER seen this quest available to me!

Description

One of Ragnaros' Lieutenants has shown himself at Ragnaros' Reach, the walled area to our northeast.

I hoped to send you as soon as you returned, but I suspect Witherbranch and some of our forces have already joined the fight by now. You should hurry.

You should be able to drop down the cliff wall right here and reach them quickly.
