This guy can disorient, which makes him an annoyance for hunters/warlocks attempting to solo this quest chain, as he'll switch to you while your pet is disoriented.

This quest is the fourth quest in a 'Ring of Blood' style quest chain in Hillsbrad Foothills, the new level 20-28 zone.

In order to do this quest, it is worth considering getting some help for this, as it is a chain.

Each boss in the chain is a level 25 elite with around 5,000 health. Not easily soloable.

Successfully cheetah kited them all as a 26 hunter (quest blues and greens, no heirlooms)... it went rather well.

I sent the pet in with a Mend Pet ticking, let him get a bit of agro, then unloaded Serpent Sting + Explosive Shot + Concussive Shot on him. I then kited him around the buildings, reapplying SS and CC whenever I could. If I had the extra focus, I sent an Arcane Shot just to keep it paying attention.

Was able to solo the first three on my level 28 Rogue, but was unable to solo this guy, simply because it would appear he has an Immolate aura.

The Disorient was just icing on the cake.

Infernus is a freakin' nightmare alone

I did it with two people and we barely got past, but good luck finding 3 people if you're not in a guild, everybody's somewhere

Can be soloed as a 31 Arcane Mage (full heirlooms). After failing more than half-a-dozen times and plenty of "Evade(s)", I finally found a doable kite path. You can kite him by standing on the railing of the overhanging bridge, causing him to loop back up the opposite ramp. Before he gets close enough for a conflag shot, hop down in the pit and strafe back towards the spawn point (while keeping in range for instant procs). Once he closes in down the ramp you'll prob get hit with a conflag. Once the disorient wears off, Frost Nova to root him in place and use Improved Blink to dash towards the ramp and back up towards the beginning bridge. If the timing doesn't go your way, just reset the mob, eat/drink, try again.

1) Keep up a slowing effect from Frost Bolt.
2) Use instant procs.
3) Use good timing of Frost Nova and Blink to keep distance and out of LoS for his conflag

By far the hardest of the gauntlet. Save yourself some trouble and grab another comrade.

Soloed as 29 Ret Paladin in quest greens, though without kiting (never been too great at that) and with about six or seven deaths. Mainly just had to keep all my cooldowns up-- needed that Lay of Hands-- and use Hand of Protection liberally. Liberally, meaning not what I did the first five or six times, and wait for an "opportune" time to do it. Infernus, regrettably enough, knows just when those opportune times are, and I pretty much always got Conflagration'd right when I hit the HoP button.

Soloed the whole chain as a frost mage lvl 29 (30 at the last boss) with heirlooms. This one was the easiest one, since he didn't attack me during it which gave me time to gain back health, just remember to stay away from your pet so he doesn't get hit with the AoE from conflagration. I had to use my frost nova and my pet's at every cooldown, lifebloom and health potions and kited them in circles. I only managed to down the last boss thanks to ice block and finished that fight with 50 health.

Took me 4 tries to solo this guy (29 Warlock). Finally got him. G.Heal Pot, Heavy Wool Bandies, Healthstone. Necessary to keep your health up, he will aggro on you, there is no getting around it. VW and use Sacrifice and you'll stay alive long enough to DOT him down.

Solo'd him as a 28 balance druid.

HE CAN BE ROOTED, which gives you plenty of breathing room to heal up.

If you are attempting this strategy, be careful with your dots as they often break the roots early.

Kind of tough, but doable as a 30 assassination rogue (full heirlooms -ring). Started with Cheap Shot, kept Kidney shot up when possible, and sort of kited him while deadly poison ticked down his health. I also used Recuperate after the conflag to help restore some HP. I think I got lucky mainly, but it is doable. Ended the fight with 5% hp left.

The whole chain can be soloed at 25 as a Disc priest. This guy was the toughest to cast against but if you keep up shield and renew/flash heal when you need to he goes down fine. The last one may or may not get ya. I only had 400 health left and had to Torrent to get enough mana for one last killing shot.

I only have the Cape and main hand hammer BoA. Everything else is pretty normal for a couple dungeon runs or some crafting.

Solo'ed as a 28 ret pally, with two BoAs. (Strengthened Stockade Paudrons / polished breastplate of valor)

The key was to use Hammer of justice to stun him while I healed., with just one HoP to help me stay alive.

It did get a little hairy towards the end as I was quickly running OOM but I got him with 300ish health left.

Solo'd as a level 23 enhancement shaman with full heirlooms, earthbind totem, searing totem, flame shock, instant ghost wolf and kite around a building when then he disorients he will attack your searing totem, heal once and carry on kiting make sure to keep spamming shocks so he doesnt evade and reset.

Using a Fire Protection Potion made this possible to solo for my fully twinked 25 sub rogue. Absorbing all that nasty damage from the conflag was the key. Used full consumables, took the fire protection pot and waited until there was about 30 seconds on the potion cooldown so I'd be able to take a health pot as well. In addition I used crippling poison on one hand so I'd be able to sprint away and bandage (at 25 you don't have kidney shot yet so I couldn't use that). Kept up recup at all times. It was still really close.

Getting the potion was a hassle, though, since the drop rate of the Small Flame Sac needed to make it has been reduced a lot since Cata. It would have been MUCH faster and easier to just get someone to help me, but by then he'd already killed me a bunch of times and I wanted to prove I could do it. :P

I just soloed Infernus on my level 25 mage. 695 hp, 1731 mana. No heirlooms, no rings, and no neck piece.

The key is to stay at least 31 yards away to avoid the disorient spell. I was able to do this by speccing into Arcane and using Arcane Barrage to beat him down. I used Improved Blink to make sure that if I fell below the 31 yard mark I was able to move away quickly. Also, blink helps because Infernus does move a little faster than you do unless you have Minor Speed Increase to your boots.

I stood above him, near the stairs, and pulled him up to me. I followed a circle over the bridge, all the way around the edge of the lower level, and back to over the bridge until Infernus was dead. It's worth mentioning that Infernus will reset if you don't attack him fairly often. I couple of times i had to stop moving until Arcange Barrage was in range, however, make sure Fire Blast is not in range as an Arcane Mage

As a mage, you'll have enough hp to be caught once. just make sure to frost nova and then blink away. If you don't frost nova first, Infernus will probably catch up to you because he'll have a good chance of dazing you when he melees you.

Just solo'd this as a level 26 frost mage with full BoA gear. Little hairy but managed it in one attempt. Open with frost bolts at max range. When he gets close enough frost nova him and blink behind him. Make sure to use those proc'd Ice Lances when he disorients he will focus your pet. Use this time to really unload. if and when you water ele dies continue the onslaught. Frost nova, Ice lance and frost bolt accordingly. Also if u need to make room be sure to use Ice Floes. Finished with an 8th of my life. D-1000 update will be next!

this was not easy for my level 57 prot warrior, item level 52 (heirlooms plus green quest rewards). he scaled to level 59 with 18.8k hp. kept getting cc'ed while eating all the fire damage.

had to get my level 120 on another account do the actual kill after my lowbie tagged him (not grouped up, to avoid exp penalty)

Totally not soloable at least on prot/arms/fury warrior currently. At lvl 60 mob is scaled to 20k hp, even using fire protection potions does not help. He conflagrates every few seconds, during that time you can't damage him at this is exactly the time you are missing out on dpsing him.

Brought this bastard down as a 59 Rett paladin in full heirlooms. Had to use all my cooldowns. Fist of Justice was really useful as HoJ's were the biggest break I could get to heal.

Sadly I have little specific advice. HoJ after you come out of disorient. Hp potions are a good idea. You can still cast spells through Bop, so you can dps when it's up after you're back to max. Your biggest threat is your mana bottoming out, but at this level there's not much that can be done about that.

This is both a dps race and a test of stamina. Use your short cd's early and don't make mistakes. Good luck.
