You'll get ambushed twice by a group of ~3 elves... it's not too hard. Not a long walk either, just to the road. Watch out for those owlbeasts, Rin'ji likes to walk in to them on his haphazard path -_-

Rin'ji is allied with the Darkspear faction and so is PVP flagged, so beware of passing alliance, as the path to Scholomance is nearby.

very easy ran'ji usually just walks through packs, fairly simple i soloed it at 46 and to get the secret is not that far either. >_<.

The elves are quite resistant to poly... ten tries, seven resisted, and three lasts for only couple seconds.
Very hard to solo as a mage... Not only for resistance; you have to pull elves to fire on you, and Rin'ji is very easy to die.

Edit: I hate this quest. Unsoloable as lv47 mage. Rin'ji always try to pull wolves or owlbears when the three elves spawn. Make sure you have a party of two to do this, for there are two waves of three elves.

You can heal and buff Rin'ji. It's not a hard quest in the first place, but that helps make it easier.

Note to quester: Save your cooldowns for the 5-6 mob packs.

solo'd this as a lv 43 BM Hunter...snake pet. It took some creative tanking by my pet to keep the npc alive. Laid down an explosive trap once the pet had all the aggro. Launched a Volley, then a multi shot when volley ended. Almost ran out of mana so i started using Mend Pet to keep my snake alive. Let the running night elfs run until they were all afraid for their lives and started picking them off one by one. Got some Owlbear aggro during the quest too. Stupid Rin'ji.

Gotta say one of the most rewarding quests by far for how simple it is! Lead the guy just out the door and down a bit killing 6 mobs that spawn and any others he may walk into - ride off to an island to complete quest 86,59 , where I discovered the flight path basically right next to it, fly back to undercity and your done. A whopping 15,100XP - 70s - rep - pretty good gear as rewards. Now thats what I'm talkin bout.

Completed as a level 47 hunter
You will be encountered by 3 rangers and 3 outrunners during 2 different pulls, maybe more, since sometimes he pulls a mob or 2 extra.

Just be sure no more then 1 mob is on rinji. It also helps to have friendly name plates on, i believe the default hotkey is V but i'm not sure since i unbinded it to something else

be careful of what's in front of him. i pulled a wolf i thought he was going to pull, and then the 3 elves came out of nowhere. but he hits pretty hard and you're able to heal him. so grab your healing spell or bandage or whatnot, and keep him and yourself alive and you'll do fine.

Do this with the 'Message to the WIldhammer' quest as mentioned above. It involves killing the high elves and the ones you kill during this escort count towards the grand total.

watch out Rinjin have a habit of dying when u don't want him to die.
he can't rlly take alot of punches so if ur not a healer u shood try to take some aggro. :)

So I cleared the entire lodge and started the quest, at the first attack of three elves (two ranged one melee) Rin'ji thought he'd be helpful and break my polymorph, so after killing one ranged with the other two attacking me I died. Luckily the graveyard is at Shadra'Alor and not that far of a run so I got back and he had more then half life left and we killed the other two and continued on.
At the second spawn which I think was 4 elves, I died after killing one again and ran back to see Rin'ji had also adopted a puppy and was nearly dead. If not for the knockback on blastwave I don't think he would have survived so I got to finish this quest after 2 deaths.
I wish that all escort mobs had that much health.

I'm an ally and every time i visit this lodge I see Rin'ji being attacked by 2 elves. <i help them sometimes :) >.

And I think the main question on everyones mind is, how did he get there in the first place?
