You can get get credit for just being in the tower when another player confronts him. I was just on the second set of stairs when I got credit for it.

I'm a level 22 arcane mage. What I'd really like is for some kind sole to tell me how I'm su pposed to kill Doane plus the two level 20 blobs who attacked and killed me -- TWICE! I hate to give up, but this is nuts!

This is a very difficult quest for me, a level 20 Human Mage, no heirlooms.
Stats:
Stamina = 41
Intellect = 66

Health: 856

This is quite hard with no looms, I suggest a group,

Did it on 2nd try, very hard still.
Considering he spawns an add which hits for 10% of my hp every time, had to use Frost Nova and blink away to live, and I still died since the add stays alive after the boss dies.

Doing this quest at lv 27 at 5-july 2018, I had prepared for a hard fight. As a hunter I dropped freezing trap to catch the add and killed the grand magus. And that worked a charm. No problem at all.

Description

Good work, kid. I've got some vital intel for you. The magus in the tower is a human named Doane. Damned traitor is working for the Blackrock orcs. I want him dead.

Use the key of Ilgalar and get inside that tower. Work your way to the top and show Doane what Bravo Company does with traitors.

Rendezvous back at Shalewind Canyon when the deed is done.

Keeshan, over and out.
