the door to his building is at 38.4, 45.8. Blizzard's quest marker on the map will mislead you into thinking it's north of that.

When you use the quest item on Ambassador Slaghammer:

Ambassador Slaghammer says: I go willingly, mage. My purpose in my master's plan is fulfilled.

When you bring him to the High Seat:

Ironforge Guard says: Glad to see that Dark Iron scum is finally getting what he deserves!
Ironforge Guard says: Quiet! Moira's in a foul mood and if she hears you, she'll have your head...

After Ambassador Slaghammer walks in:

Moira Thaurissan says: If we were in Shadowforge City, I would have you tossed into the Ring of Law for your transgressions, Ambassador. The darkest dungeons of Ironforge will have to do for now.
Ambassador Slaghammer says: Do as you will with me. I am not afraid. That halfbreed runt will never be my emperor! Long live Twilight's Hammer!

A guard then walks over from the side:

Ironforge Guard says: I'll escort you to your new 'accomodations', Your Excellency.

And escorts him off to the side before despawning.

this quest is part of a chain and does not become available until after you complete Grimaxe's demise.

For whatever reason, the first time I did this, I dragged Slaghammer to the High Seat - it went through the dialog, but didn't register as completed. I just ran back and arrested him again, and it completed when he was in the High Seat (again).

Not entirely sure what was up, but hey :D

It's possible this quest is on a cooldown? When I got there, someone had just completed the quest, and they were still talking about stuff and suchlike. Rather than accepting the quest while this was underway, and risk the possibility that it might error, I waited til they stopped ^^

Could be why you had trouble with yours?

Take note that this quest ends in the IF Throne Room for a reason, on your way out Mountaineer Barleybrew offers you the entry quest to Loch Modan. I did that quest before completing this chain, and had to fly to the quarry and walk.

What a fun quest chain! However, I felt that I spent more time finding him due to thinking he was down in the tunnel.

He is not down in the tunnel to go down to Old Ironforge. As you leave the Council area as a previous poster stated go to the left. There are two Dark Iron Guards guarding the house he is in. Go upstairs and there he is awaiting his arrest.

2/2017 Cant seem to get quest to work, quest item does nothing at all and ambassador just walks around on circles. Bugged? :)

This quest seems to be bugged. I put the sturdy manacles on the Ambassador and he says he will come willingly, but he just walks toward the balcony door and gets stuck there. He will not follow me to the High Seat. Tried dropping the quest and picking it up again. Also tried reloading the ui and nothing is working.

As mentioned below, leave the high seat, turn left, and it's the first doorway on your left just past the hallway to the outer ring. There are two dark iron dwarves guarding the door. Go upstairs. If he is not there, wait a minute someone probably just got him - this happened to me, someone nabbed him first and he despawned but only for a minute. You can mount and he will still follow you. He does not have a nameplate, as the guards also do not. Hope that helps!

Seize the Ambassador

Go to the Dark Iron Embassy and use the Sturdy Manacles to arrest Ambassador Slaghammer.

	Arrest Ambassador Slaghammer and bring him to the High Seat (1)

Provided item:

	Sturdy Manacles (1)

Description

The ambassador's betrayal will long haunt me. You must arrest him before he can do further harm, or worse, before he can escape and start planning the next attack. Ironforge is not safe with Ambassador Slaghammer free inside the city.

Take these manacles and go to the Dark Iron embassy. It's just to the north of the High Seat, around the rim of the Great Forge. Arrest Ambassador Slaghammer and return with him.
